Would it be worth using them for another production or have someone else produce a coin-like item??

The center bit would look awesome as a coin (without the square casing).

mj, I don't believe so but thanks for the idea.

TNA, it's a nice thought b/c it would cut assembly time in half (selling just the coins) but I've already committed to discontinuing them so that's the plan. The 1BTC silvers are almost gone as well, and I'm kind of looking forward to retiring this design. Unless anyone's keen on a 15oz, 24k gold version?  Wink

Now all I have to do is contact a casino near me and ask if I can borrow their dice shredder  Grin

As some of you know, last year I discontinued the 2014 Original Kialara.

My newer designs are from a completely new set of suppliers, and the quality is reflected in each piece. As quality does get better, my hope is that appreciation grows for my original design which I consider to be less impressive aesthetically.

I want for my art to be considered as a store of value in and of itself, and so I’m always thinking of ways to achieve this. I have a little more than 1,000 unreleased 2014 Originals, and I plan to destroy the parts remaining - effectively cutting back the supply permanently.

I’m writing to ask your thoughts on how I should do this. I need to document the physical destruction of these discs, and in an environmentally-friendly way. I thought I'd put this out now hoping I'd have an answer by the end of the weekend.

Any ideas?

Seal them all into your garage floor somehow.  That would look amazing.  Just don't ever try and move.

Can they be slabbed and graded....Huh?

I can grade them. How many you want?  Grin

Actually bc I am getting pm's, these are not for sale and will be destroyed.

Slabbed and graded ....I meant Poured and leveled.....    garage concrete floor/ physical bitcoin pun intended

Ahah, yea that one went right over my head  Cheesy

Should I fund them first? A hologram floor would be sweet.

Run em thru one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUsrolVEwA0

Use the scraps for a sculpture/art piece. Have proceeds go to charity/HAVEN.

This is the type of answer I was looking for, awesome!

Kialara
24 hour Auction: Casascius Bearer Bar, Casascius 25 BTC, Casascius 1BTC, Kialara
I hope I didn't offend anyone, but I accepted Blazed generous 5BTC bid immediately, so please consider this auction closed. I'm in a rush to send funds to my suppliers and this lets me do it one day earlier, and every day helps.
"

So. You should not give to the auction. Breaking the rules. But immediately give the price on Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Goods
I am interested in buying, but even  I did not have opportunity to make offer. Because of the time zone where I live.

Wow the auction is over? I would have bid quite a bit more than that...  Undecided

Yeah I was also pretty bummed. I didn't bid when I saw it cos I wanted to wait till the price was higher and then bid. At least max got his money and we'll have newer kialara bars soon  Grin

A kickstarter would be cool, but they can also be time consuming as well just to manage. Thanks for the update and keep up the awesome work that you do.

Have you concidered the idea of a kickstarter for your next project? I'd be happy to pay upfront. I have several of your products and they are absolutely stunning. I am sure your new project will be of the same quality.

Thanks TheNewAnon135246, no I have never considered kickstarter. Things are moving along as planned. Cheesy

Max is most definitely a talented artist.  I'm certain the people complaining about the wait time would be the first ones wanting to send back a product with a defect.  Let the man work.  Rushing an artist is like peeing into the wind, you might feel relieved at first, but you won't be happy with the end result.

Thanks OG, I can understand how a new customer can be concerned when their order is a few weeks behind. It's nice to have everyone's reassurance that I am the type to follow through, and I hate the idea of anyone getting their shoes wet Wink
