what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
errrr.... wut?

maybe someone needs to tell intel SHA256 on GPUs is a bit dated? unless im missing something..

Intel Labs has dedicated decades of research into reliable cryptography, hashing techniques and ultra-low voltage circuits. We expect that our circuit innovations will deliver a blockchain accelerator that has over 1000x better performance per watt than mainstream GPUs for SHA-256 based mining.

When JimboToronto asked where you got your hat,  I began working on a design for a TA style WO hat.  When sirazimuth prompted you to ask me, that was another step in the process but even if you had not directly asked me you would have received a hat.  It's the way of the WO.
As an aside, if Richy_T hadn't sidetracked me with that old song, I think I would have come up with a tile much more quickly.  That song is still stuck in my head.

Those old wartime songs are some of the best (though I am not sure if that one might predate it a bit). Anyone for a quick round of "Roll out the barrel"?

Oh I remember singing along to that one.  Also a lot of George Formby songs. Cheesy

In short, I can't understand why he doesn't want to hang out with us.

Saw your message. Thanks.

Will close his channels. Down for over 30 days now.

Would rather devote resources to active nodes.

Just finished consuming all of the episodes.
Definitely enjoyed the earlier episodes more than the later ones.
Interesting that the two writers were also the two main starring actors.
Quite a bit of talent there, but totally agree with your comment... "There's a few misses".
Regardless, thanx again for turning me onto the show.

It seems there are only six seasons on Amazon Prime (Britbox). I know there are at least a couple more. I'm going to have to track them down. Now, where's that eyepatch?

Only six series were made.
Just finished watching them and there were some really good ones as well as a few misses.
I particularly enjoyed “the trial of Elizabeth gadget from series two.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
Thermonuclear (fusion) energy is cool, but maybe 1-2 decades off the time of mainstream use.
Here is something interesting that is happening right now (from reddit):

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/12/23-year-old-texans-made-4-million-mining-bitcoin-off-flared-natural-gas.html

from the article
Quote
Giga tells CNBC that its revenue was more than $4 million in 2021, and it's on track to earn more than $20 million by the end of 2022.

....I smell fresh money

I am not sure what you mean by "fresh money;" however, it seems that the gist of the money-making angle is that they are finding ways to monetize what had been waste gas.. and they are channeling that into bitcoin mining.   It likely costs quite a bit to build out such an operation, too... so the article talks about revenue - which surely is not bad, yet there might not be a lot of profits in the early years if they are largely reinvesting their revenue into the business and expecting to expand 5x in a year.  May well be that they are in the right place, but sounds like they are working pretty hard (hustling?) too, in order to work what they believe to be a decently-likely profitable angle (combining oil and gas with bitcoin mining).

"Fresh money" makes it sound trivial or easy - even if it is a new angle on revenue.. but maybe you meant something else?

And since you seem to be channeling our good buddy.. why does he not want to hang out with us peeps?

~snip

I don't have direct contact with Elwar; I just follow him (covertly) on certain social media.  He has posted as recently as Feb 11th and I shared the video that he shared on other social media (also covertly and without credit).  I don't actually "know" anyone wrt the known knowns.  There is always the possiblity that unknown knowns are unknowingly known to me and on very rare occasions I test that theory by shouting, "BobLawblaw!", "JayJuanGee!" or "cAPSLOCK!" at total stangers and I keep my eyes peeled for the slightest hint of recognition on that persons face.  I will know the look because I swear I can see it occasionally on my mom and dad's faces when I drop off groceries or shovel their walk.

In short, I can't understand why he doesn't want to hang out with us.

I will answer if that ever happens within earshot.  There is nothing all that recognizably unique about my appearance other than general stunning beauty.

I have wondered how many WO folks (might) live close to me.  I only know of one, and I don;t think that person spends a lot of time in Dallas anymore, so I figure I am generally all alone.  Are there any other WO members in the general vicinity of the metroplex? (if you know, you know)

On this topic... I have shifted somewhat in my whole opsec strategy, and I do not know how wise that is.  I have grown quite tired of it in some regards, as well as understanding that my tracks over the last 11+ years are pretty clear. If someone wanted to figure out who I am there are several very easy ways to do it, sadly.

Why would anybody want to locate you? I'm sure everyone have heard about that unlucky boating accidents of yours...  Grin

Quite true!  I believe I may have been one of the very earliest of bad sailors. Having delved into Monero (2014), which evidently comes with a watery curse.

But in all seriousness my forum creation date might make me a target, I'd guess.  If I had it to do over again I would never post here. Though that would be sad!

Seriously, though, any asshole that targeted me would be EXTREMELY let down as similar to many early bitconners I can only say I never got nearly enough of it...  I just used it to play penny ante poker.  Also I do what I can to be a difficult mark, and I have quite a bit of ammo. Pew pew.
