I use the mobile (iPhone) and it is easy to check the answers, if you use the mobile version you cannot see the answers properly, but the trick is to use the desktop version on the mobile then you can see everything..

yeah, using same approach too, just using Android platform
but process is the same, switch to desktop view, and you can see it all, as on desktop computer

didn't bother to check scores, although I submitted answers last minute, just to see how I will be going and stay in-form
Cup is obviously not my-cup-of-tea, same as Barca Smiley

I'm also using the Google Spreadsheets app because I use it for my work so it was natural for me to use it here. I don't think that there is a desktop view in the app, but it never bothered me that much. I spend enough time on computer to compare the results of my opponent. After I know what are our different answers, I just check occasionally on my phone and I never had problems with it.

@Harkorede we have all 6 different answers until the end Grin

Not often that something like this happens to me, it's gonna be more exciting for sure. I just saw your answers, you can already send me the prize.

Hello @trofo and cryptofrka,  don't know if this is a suggestion or should I call it help.  I was thinking if there's a way one can actually see through spreadsheet answers with mobile.  Like if you guys can leave a enough space for viewing answers since there's always some space left at the spreadsheet.  Because mostly one is always with his/her phone and its can be easily checked without having to use a laptop.
Summary, I can't really check my opponent answers with my phone when there's a long answer to a question.  Can you guys leave enough space for the answers to be viewable on mobile. Like right now , my Microsoft isn't responding and instand of me to just check my opponent answers with my mobile,  I can't see all his answers because some answers are long .

A tricky one - we know it's a problem, yeah. The thing is that we don't know how much we need to widen the columns in order for them to be visible on phone.
Most of the columns in which you can't fully see the answer would have to be too wide compared to the others, which would then ruin the experience for those that check on PC.

How many of you check the spreadsheet on the phone? If it's only a few then we'll probably leave it as it is, but if it's a lot we'll find a way to show full answers without ruining the experience for others.

I do check and follow the results on my phone a lot of times too, more often than not, but the easiest way over the phone is just to download Google Spreadsheet App on your phone, it is available for both iOS and Android, that way you'll have an easier access to viewing the spreadsheet than on mobile browsers even if they should increase the space for each row and column it's still going to be an eyesore for mobile phones with the average iPhone or Android screens except for Tabs. Another advantage of the google spreadsheet app is that it will auto sync with the changes on the sheet and you'll have access to it on the go.

Just tried it, works well enough and real simple to do. Before somebody says they don't have iphone i tested it on android.

I was using that option before for some sites but never tried for our spreadsheet since info in it isn't usually time critical and I check it when I get back home.
I'm making use of Samsung S22 ultra and if not now I didn't know it worked that way, just checked it and it's showing but then my Microsoft has been restored.  Thanks for the infor!

Oh wow! The fact that both Sabalenka and Zheng made it to the final means that I got my first point. Trofo decided to secure at least one point in the 10th question, but my risk payed off in the end. And that point means much as we have only three different answers if we are not counting penalty question. Now I just need Đoković to beat Sinner and lose 2 sets in that game. I think I will at least secure penalties with that result. I made a mistake when answering that Đoković will go to the final and lose 5 or more sets. I miscalculated how many games he has to play before the final.
I told you I am fielding youth team. If it were first team players I would have the same answer as you, just like bookies predicted  Grin Sabalenka is a top player but I have seen her break down so many times, I just have to try to play against her when their is good opportunity. Costed me a lot of money in the past.

These friendlies are perfect opportunity to try something a bit different and then incorporate into main games if proven successful. I also answered all the penalties yes, without even reading them.

Damn, Coco, why you so easy lose? Now I've to hope Zheng overcomes an early setback. Can't make life too easy for Alex now can I?

Oh and forum only please. Telegram is hard to navigate for this kind of comp. Great chatting place and maybe even for work but BSFL works because of this forum format...

I didn't expect Coco Gauff to win against Sabalenka to be honest, this one of the few times I let emotion cloud my Judgement rather than logic, I hate Tennis questions that have either Coco or Alcaraz, because I'll always go with them even when it's high illogical, just like how I'd never pick Barcelona to lose in these questions too, my biggest weak links  Angry

Japan's been great at scoring, but they've had some really crazy defensive blips too but Indonesia are perhaps a little stronger than bookies think. Malaysia should get hammered today though.
Japan is not leaving up to the expectations,  if they can concede a goal against Indonesia,  I now have doubts in them.

And Q.Zheng wins,  Chelsea over to you, don't let us down!

Yeah, why wouldn't Indonesia score in extra time to ruin my pick?
The amount of 'against the odds' situations that are happening to me are beyond belief.

5. Everything we could ever pin on telegram is written in first 4 posts of this thread. Is checking them so much harder then reading pinned messages in telegram? I mean we loose time every aingle week to uodate them with all new info, if nobody uses them, what's the point  Wink

Those first few posts in this thread are great spirce of information. Everything we all need is written there and I think that it's a perfect way. I often check them at the end of a round to see who I'm up against in the next round, but also when I wanna see my standings on the table. All in all, I think the way you manage this competition is great and you don't need to change anything.

A Telegram group would kill this thread or it would be empty all the time if the conversation resumes here, so there's no point in having two channels of communication.

Regarding telegram discussion:
1. We can't run BSFL in any way that requires constant involvement from Sportsbet and we don't have admin rights in their telegram group

2. Only thing that gets us funding and keeps BSFL going is actually activity here on bitcointalk. Why would we shoot the project down in such effective way with providing another place to talk about it and take people away from here. It would be so much easier to give you the link for the competition on site where we are running it than to write reports here. But we are doing in this way to get people to come here.

3. One of points behind BSFL was to integrate people from clubhouse and bring them to bitcointalk. I think current setup is perfect for that.

4. We don't want to babysit players, we want engaged managers. If you aren't able to post answers in time when you have 48 hours to do so and always the same deadline - BSFL isn't for you. We had to do it like that in the beginning to create a core base of players but we don't want to send notifications and hold you by the hand all the time.

For notifications we can configure Telegram in a bot, when Trofo or Cryptofrka tags me, the Telegram bot notifies the update of the tables and the questions of the next round, I think not everyone here knows it.

The Telegram bot notification has been discussed a few times here already in both the first and second seasons, I'm pretty almost every player here uses it, but the problem how often people pay attention to the notifications, it could be easily when you're away from your devices for a while when the reminder comes, but the interest is what will make everyone not forget about submitting their picks, no amount of notification can help when there is an apparent lack of interest, it's just the same thing with how many people you actively find in the Gambling discussion and how many people have actually ever joined any of the league pools hosted here.
[/quote]

That's true. I have a Telegram bot set up to notify me on every new message here and it works well. I turned off notifications on almost every Telegram channel that I'm a part of so I don't get pinged that much. But I have also developed a habit on checking questions on Monday and answering them trough Monday and Tuesday so I never miss the deadline.

But I agree that if someone is not that interested in the BSFL, all the notifications in the world won't make them submit answers on time.

We have a group, so both a group and a channel would be overkill. We could maybe improve a bit and pin stuff more often.
You could and you should do it in next season  Grin
For start you can try to post reminders for people to send questions on time.
We dont need to have 100 players but we need players that wont frequently miss to send answers and make a mess in Division 3.

The Naija & BSFL Sherrif 📛
That place is boring and quiet as graveyard( the part nobody will tell you). I left the same day I joined and I never looked back. All discussion is better on this thread, I do not see any reason to create a telegram group honestly.
Dont say that!
Snake is going to bite you, and you wont receive candies anymore  Wink
In fact Sportsbet telegram is very active in other parts, so BSFL telegram needs to improve and be up to standards.

I am the Sheriff, and this is what I do, correct? I'm interested what we'll be discussing in the Telegram group that we can't have here, like banter and sharing some hilarious emojis, right? But, again, how many individuals are willing to join the group and stay active? There are over 50 players in the league, but only about 20 are active on the thread, the rest are uninterested in this discussion, and convincing them to join the Telegram group will be difficult.

I like the idea I'm not kicking against it just stating the obvious.

I could have taken up Trofo for a side bet - the week is boring and longer than I expected.
