In as much as I agree with you that Arsenal does not have depth, I think they were lucky last season because none of their center backs were injured. Saliba and Gabriel had a good season and played more minutes. The fullbacks is where they have options. Saliba and Gabriel doesn’t have a quality replacement. If anything happens to them, I don’t think they’ll able to challenge Manchester City with the options they have on the bench.
The addition of Calafiori will provide a good backup to Gabriel. Kiwior was brought in to provide cover for Gabriel but he hasn’t been able to do that. I think with Calafiori, their backline is good and enough to start the new season.

Just to chip in, Jurim Timber could be a good backup option for Saliba you don't think so? Well said with the likes of Saliba and Gabriel. I think they had one of the best combination which lead to having the best defense in the Premier League Competition next season. More of the lackings and limitations they had, didn't come frommtye defense but it's a good thing to see that they've got the Injured returning and the name Jurim Timber excites me a whole lot.

Calafiori and Gabriel are almost same style of play and Calafiori is a player with good quality , I'd say he is a good backup option for Gabriel this season.
The likes of Zinchenko and Tomiyasu needs to keep fit, but great season ahead for them. I do feel like, they're more close to winning the Premier League Competition this season than anyone.

He has still not met expectations after the famous transfer deal worth 85.5 million pounds in the summer of 2022. Some recent information suggests that MU wants to let Antony go to another club on loan for the 2024/25 season. This is understandable because the 24-year-old winger played unconvincingly in the 2023/24 season. Does this move show that MU is offering and selling Antony?

Nothing has been said about a possible transfer sale for Antony so far so good. What I see is that he'll be a backup player for Amad Diallo who should be having a better first full season for Manchester United and with Manchester United. Antony could bounce back up, but he needs to get his head into the game. Why not go back to the basics of football rather than make unnecessary dribbles? If you go back to his second game against Chelsea last season, he did pretty well.

I do not see him leaving Manchester United for now. Erik Ten Hag still feels he has something more to do for the club.

Arsenal had the best defence in the PL last season. Signing defensive players isn’t their problem. They need an elite goalscorer because Havertz isn’t even close to prolific enough. Arsenal need a killer in front of goal because they don’t have one.

They also suffered the least injuries out of the top teams in the league. I don’t think they will be so lucky again. The squad is kinda weak too. The first XI is great but a couple of injuries and all of a sudden Nketiah is starting or Jesus.

I fully like your opinion. I also think the same that Arsenal would make use of a better striker. Havertz is talented but not that much as a striker. Playing as AM or RW would be much better for him. He isn't a reliable finisher but could make a good distribution of passes.  Wink

Gyökeres was their target some time ago. What happened with that?  Huh  I think he is one of the strikers worth to sign. He has turned into a goal machine and he isn't a selfish player either (43 goals, 15 assists in 50 games last season). The problem is they say Sporting wants his release clause to be bough out which is 100 million euros... I'm curious what Arsenal thinks about that.

I also heard that Manchester City could be kicked out of the English Premier League as well as all forms of football but they have improved so much since then that the team has no shortage of fan following.  If they still have a chance of being relegated from the English Premier League then we will definitely lose a big team in major tournaments like Premier League and Champions League. Manchester City is one of the strongest teams for the Champions League. If we compare with different Premier League teams, Manchester City will be ahead of other teams. If Manchester City have any problems then the management should solve them quickly so that they don't face a ban later on.
The English Premier League comes with stress and a whole lot of competitive race and pressure. However the strong ones still made it out alive without been relegated and this is one of the prospective aspect of the top game. The management of the Citizens have been quite formidable and winning becomes priority for them. Manchester City is elite club and have proven their dominance against their oppositions, it’s been really a smooth season for the Citizens.
Manchester City has become a very consistent team in the last few seasons but if we look at their performance before then we don't see much significant achievement for them. But now we must admit that Manchester City is one of the top 5 teams in Europe.

Manchester City has performed brilliantly in the English Premier League in the last few seasons and they are better than other teams in both the Premier League and Champions League competitions. Last season they beat Real Madrid in the Champions League and eventually they won the Champions League title but in the last season of the Champions League they ended their Champions League journey by losing to Real Madrid. Although their results in the Champions League last season were not good, they are definitely looking forward to something better next season and they can definitely do better. If Manchester City leave some of their key players at the club then they must sign new contracts to replace those players so that there is no weakness anywhere in the team.

A friendly match between Arsenal and Bournemouth ended with a final result of 5-4 (penalty). Arsenal used many of its young talents as the starting lineup in this game. Some academic players were also balling crazy against Bournemouth. I pay attention to some players who ran the show in this game.

Ode played very well in this game, and he looks several levels above everyone on the field. And again, Nwaneri had a good performance. He was a young player, but he looked very smart and ready to play with the senior players.

There is so much exciting stuff in this game. Though Arsenal won through penalties. But, it shows how Arsenal has so many great young talents, and they've all progressed. I don't mind the result as this is only a pre-season match. I'm feeling optimistic if Arsenal can enter the title race again in the upcoming season.

One of the interesting points in the English Premier League is the tight competition until the end of the season. This is what makes world-class players really want to test their careers in England.
Until now or even in the next few seasons, the English Premier League will be very competitive where the bottom team can beat the favorite team to win. There is no really easy competition between each team here, so in the last few seasons we have seen how teams that should have been relegated can still survive.

I agree, Arsenal needs a better starting striker. Haverz is not a good killer.
However the saying goes "Offensive wins games, but defense wins championships"
A solid defense can lay the foundation for sustained success and ultimately help a team win championships.
Based on statistics, Arsenal has a very solid defense and no one doubts it. But City also has a very solid defense and the difference is that City has a killer striker up front. The league is a long competition. Each team will play 38 matches. So each team must be able to maintain the consistency of their game from week to week. Defense will win championships. But I think it will be very difficult for Arsenal to continue to be consistent with a solid defense. Arsenal really need a good killer this season if they want to become champions.

Even though Arsenal seems to have minimal player spending activity and is still calm in the transfer market this summer, Arteta has confirmed that the Gunners will soon recruit new players.
He knows very well that several positions in the team need to be strengthened, and several positions lack personnel.
And I think Calafiori is just the beginning, several more players will be recruited soon.
So relax and wait for Arsenal management to complete the job Smiley

While I do agree that they had a great defense, I also think that they lacked depth in defense. I know that may sound weird, but their starters were great, and maybe one more bench is arguably good, but that's it, if anyone gets a red card, and the other player gets injured, suddenly they have literally kids there. This is why getting a bit more depth isn't a bad idea at all, it would benefit them and I would highly suggest something like that.

This is of course not something they should sell the farm for, they should just get someone for 10-20 million range, not some expensive player. And to be fair, aside from getting some good bench players, their starters are all good, these are the players that almost beat City and won the league, saying that you "need" players would be insensitive to the achievement these guys had, I think they did alright. Get like 3-4 players for rotation to make the squad depth bigger, and that's it, I would say try again.

I know that it is going to be a much better season if they do that, because their players would be a lot more accustomed to playing together and that will definitely help with them most of the time, shouldn't be an issue for them at all.

Of course, it would be a great hope for fans to see Liverpool still have a good performance with Arne Slot. After all, basically Liverpool also still have good players in their current squad. Thus,  it is likely that Arne Slot will also still be very selective to buy players who are really needed to keep the team consistent with impressive performance.
It is natural that fans hope that Arne Slot's Liverpool will continue to have a balanced performance without any internal conflict if Arne Slot's opportunity to bring in the players he needs is not carried out during the current transfer window.
I also thought that Arne Slot would bring in new players according to the team's needs by utilizing the current squad.

Most Arne Slot will look for 3 players for different positions where one player will be looked for in each line. Regarding Takefusa Kubo, he is suitable as a substitute for Mo. Salah will place Kubo together with Mo. Salah as a starter if Luis Diaz's performance declines.
Restoring and maintaining Liverpool glory with Klopp will certainly be very difficult to do and we must admit that it is unlikely that Arne Slot will be able to bring Liverpool to the same level as in the Klopp era, arne Slot is of course a hope for Liverpool fans to see their team be even better next season, but I hope they don't need to get their hopes up if Arne Slot is able to bring many changes to the Liverpool squad, even though Arne Slot retains the majority of last season players in the current Liverpool squad.
Arne Slot doesn't have much experience to be proud of in European competitions so far so this is a reason for me doubt  (although I hope I'm wrong) on Liverpool performance next season.
Liverpool are currently not very active in the transfer market and so far we have not heard of any players they are trying to recruit, who knows what is happening to Liverpool at the moment in the transfer market but I hope they can get some new players for compete next season in premier league.

If indeed they are proven to have committed a fairly fatal fraud then indeed they must be prepared to accept the consequences because after all the competition must remain clean and when someone is caught violating then although it is quite unfortunate but they must take responsibility for their mistakes in the end.

It's just that for now we still have to continue to wait for a thorough investigation because seeing from the current situation, the charges against Manchester City which are considered to have violated FFP have actually been around for quite a long time but indeed this has always experienced obstacles where the slow investigation has made this a little longer.
But on the other hand it is also a natural thing because Manchester City is a big club now so it must be difficult in contrast to some small clubs like Everton or Nottingham Forrest which can be easily investigated Cheesy

This is another topic what I'm curious about. If we consider like the case is over and all those titles are taken back from Manchester City in the Premier League. Then what happens?  Huh

I mean will those years be left as blank or will there be a thing like the teams right behind them are called as new champions of those years? I guess the first one would happen because I haven't seen any example of the latter.  Grin

It can really be like the end of an era in England, at least for a while if Manchester City reignite it by climbing back to the Premier League. Anyway we will see about that as we don't even have the result in our hands.
I read an article that said that depriving Manchester City of all their championship titles during 2009 - 2018 was a very, very bad possibility and some people even commented that it seemed to be exaggerated. City will face 115 charges related to FFP and in other news it is reported that City's harshest punishment is a 30 point deduction and expulsion from the Premier League. If City are relegated I don't think it will take long for them to return to the EPL. But there will be a possibility that most of the players and even Pep Guardiola will choose to leave the team.
Exactly, I'm also seeing them finishing strong with more clean sheets this season too. They will be adding that Italian youngin from Bologna who had a great last season and also, did well during the short time in the European Championship. They need depth anyways, it might not be the main problem but, they'll also be having players leaving for other clubs. They do need that signature.

Your damn correct! They need a goalscorer truthfully. When it mattered most, player's like Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus didn't do as expected.
They have been obviously linked with a whole lotta players but in that position but it seems like they're waiting for the exit of either Nelson or Eddie Nketiah to Marseille.

I feel like they're the favorite this time for the Premier League Competition. I supported them last season genuinely but they snoozed. I feel like most of them players don't posses what it takes, ( Mentality and Character ) to win the Premier League Competition. Better luck to them this season.

Arne Slot is starting to make improvements to look for options if Mo Salah loses his productivity. Takefusa Kubo is the option chosen by Arne Slot, which can actually be considered a risky bet, but we are quite curious about what kind of format Arne wants to implement at Liverpool. Real Madrid is the club that benefits from the sale of Takefusa Kubo with a 50% share of his release clause.
Arne Slot looks very close to all the Liverpool players currently available in training. Rumors regarding Takefusa Kubo's interest in bringing him to Anfield are already known to the public. If Kubo is used as an option if Mo. Salah, I think it is the right option. Even when Mo. Salah doesn't leave, Takefuso Kubo can be a good substitute for Mo. Salah because Kubo has shown his game at the club he is currently playing for.

Indeed, it seems that Liverpool have more players positioned on the left wing than on the right wing and therefore, when Salah cannot be played then the possibility of rotation will also be difficult to get good results. So yes, if Liverpool really want to buy Takefusa Kubo, I think it also seems like it would be a good choice. Because after all, in the last season the fact that Takefusa Kubo also had a good performance with Real Sociedad. So yes, it might not hurt to buy Takefusa Kubo, considering Liverpool also lacks a right winger to be a coating player for Salah.

Arsenal's defensive position is going to be strong next season because adding calafiori to their defensive position is going to make them stronger than before, this is the time that Arsenal needs to perform well and win the league because if you take a look at Arsenal squad now they are the best squad in the premier league and they need to show that they are capable of winning the league this season, Arteta doesn’t have any excuses to give this season because he has time to sign any player that he wants to sign for improve his squad, Calafiori is the best signing so far in premier this season and I hope arsenal will do well this season.

If you see Calafiori play last season it does seem like this is a new hope for Arsenal but actually for the duet defender between Gabriel and Saliba was actually quite organized last season but it seems Arteta is still not satisfied and Calafiori could be a good option even though he is still quite young but his performance is quite promising.

It's just that in this case it also depends on Calafiori's performance too because after all Serie A and the EPL are clearly different in terms of tension and speed so Calafiori must try to keep up and adapt to the fast scheme in the EPL because after all Serie A is actually slower in terms of tension in contrast to the EPL which is quite fast and this could be a problem for Calafiori's adaptation later.
Tomorrow there will be a friendly match between Bournemouth and Arsenal, it seems like this is quite a fitting time to try out Arteta's new scheme to prepare for next season to run well.

Liverpool have a long list of Mohammed salah replacement but this week their attention have moved to Takefusa Kubo, other players like Federico chiesa, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and johan Bakayoko are linked to a move to  Anfield. Personally I think the better replacement would be Federico Chiesa because he is a player full of energy, he has that confidence to make things happen on his own, he is a good goal scorer and he is from Italian league so adapting in the premier league will be very easy for him.
Mohamed Salah is a very goal productive players and none of these players in the list are goal productive. Kubo, Chiesa, Kvaratskhelia are not goal productive players and I only don't know about Bakayoko. Chiesa after Euro 2020, got some injuries and never returned to his best performances and it was reflected in Euro 2024. He is one of key players in Italy but did not play well.

Quote
At the moment kubo move looks very likely to happen, with Arne Slot approving the board to make a move for him and I think personal terms won’t be a problem in the deal.
Kubo can provide creativeness for Liverpool but if they need goals, they need to expect it from team mates of Kubo. Kubo played well in La Liga but moving to Premier League will give him a big challenge. With his small body, it will not be easy to play in this league. Takumi Minamino did not play well for Liverpool and this can be a warning for Kubo.

Is Antony now strong enough to revive his career at MU?
Initially, MU valued Antony at no more than 30 million euros. Because of Ten Hag's request, officials at Old Trafford had to accept spending three times more than that amount, turning the Brazilian player into the second most expensive contract in the club's history (after Paul Pogba, 105 million euros).
