It amazes me that Hollywood would have us believe military satellites can read your morning newspaper from ten miles away. Obviously untrue. But I don't understand how they can't get ANYthing? Just on the simplest most basic level, there were 250 people with cell phones, and I'm sure they had onboard wifi, they can't use the telcom satellites to triangulate the last ping...? Or is there some reason that would not be feasible...?

They can do that if the location is known. The oceans is so vast and there is not enough satellite to scan it.

It's not that untrue really, while they can't read your morning newspaper, current military satellites can see a person holding a news paper, the thing is, considering that those satellites are moving at 26000Km/h it obviously they are not made to track stuff, but more to snap picture of an area each orbit (there are also geostationary satellites but those has an orbit much much higher and thus the image is not as precise) another reason why you don't see military satellites images is that because not a single country wants to show it capabilities and position of their satellite

Now medias are just riding on news to get the clicks and sell newspapers.... none is coming with concrete stuff other than theory crafting and assumptions
what else you can expect from them..! I still don't understood the job of media.. ? is it to create more ambiguity or to clear all the ambiguity surrounding it.? but with the competition around what else we can expect from most of the media houses ...!
Nowadays media = Political propaganda tool + posting articles about the bad stuff just to create traffic, and ride on any kind of event to create more traffic

a news here in philippines said that malaysia believes that the plane part that found in indian ocean is the missing plane

Not one part of the plane is found yet. Oceans has full garbage floating that could look a like parts from above.

Can anyone tell me what happened? What is malaysia 370? I keep hearing about it on news??

A plane traveling from Malaysia to China carrying about 230 passengers disappeared earlier this month. No one really knows what happened to it or where it is, though evidence suggests that it crashed in the South Indian ocean west of Australia.

That and despite modern technology military radar and satellites all searching for debris none of it has yet been found despite all the coordination of 6 countries searching for the same object.

anyway any new news about the plane, the last thing I know of was the official announcement that the plane crashed and that a new ship with a wider detection range is heading to the supposed area of crash to find the black boxes

That's the thing, there is no real news. They've assumed the plane crashed but have no physical evidence for this.

Apparently today and after correcting their simulation inputs (apparently the plane was going faster than what it fuel would allowed to) they started detecting debris being it by satellites or planes, and boats are getting there, we will know for sure if it is debris from the plane after analysis

They're always spotting "debris". They should wait until they've examined it before announcing a false alarm.

they just announced that they finished examining the debris and it doesn't belong to MH370, it was just random ocean junk.

10 planes have been combing the new area in the past 2 days, nothing.

This plane either sunk intact by a masterful plan by the pilots or it actually landed somewhere we don't know yet.

i've always thought it landed somewhere ~ if so the question remains... who has the plane? =\

My goodness it is amazing this is still news and by that I mean in our modern age we still can't find a plane even with military radar and satellites that is bound to scare some security experts.

Well the plane is somewhere on the ground for the last few weeks by now

Guess the focus is on the airlines future now

We're at the 'stone age' of development. All this technology is just basic.
