I wonder how much these fighters make in the fight? Is it already published online?
Manny is guaranteed to receive $10 million plus the revenue of the PPV while Thurman will receive $2.5 million, that's what i read on the news. As for Thurman, they say that is the biggest paycheck he would receive in his career.

That sounds minuscule when compared to the $300 million that Floyd Mayweather received for his last fight. And I am not sure whether the figure quoted above is corrected or not. In addition to the fixed purse, Pacquiao may get an additional cut from the PPV revenue and gate collections. Fox hasn't released the figures, but I expect somewhere around 400K PPV buys. At $74.99 per buy, it works out to $30 million just from the PPV.

It was satisfying win for Manny Pacquiao, judging by his age his not the same fighter as we saw 20 years ago but he still proving that age doesn't matter when it comes to boxing and once again he proved it this time. for Thurman he kept his promise buy fighting Pacquiao by toe to toe but the other promise has failed but it was a good historical fight. both fighters gave their best shot in the ring.

He's not just a good fighter but also a salesman.  Tongue

LOL, this is true, Thurman is such a good guy and I can sense with his trash talk, he just want to sell the fight and that was a success since it was a sold out crowd with over 14K in the venue.

Thurman should also be proud that his first loss is from a legend, and he is not afraid to fight any fighter, he gain respect from the boxing community now.
I'm also brought by his trashtalking and started to hate him, he's such a good drama actor.

Anyway, the match is done and he has accepted the split decision.

Congrats to both Manny and Keith

This is right, though Manny won the battle, but they both should be congratulated since they both won the Money.

If he really tended to just sold the ticket that’s why he is throwing trash talks against Pacquiao, then a salute him because he prove that above everything!!!It is the Money that matters 😂

On that I agreed mate because Thurman is a record holder of being undefeated (second to Mayweather ofcourse)and that’s a well accepted lose from a legendary fighter and a Title holder of many divisions..Congrats to both Manny and Keith

Floyd Mayweather was seen on the ring yesterday, does this mean that he is interested in a rematch with Pacquiao?

I'm not sure but I guess he is one of the promoters of the fight.
He hasn't showed interest on Manny's rematch but this time that Manny beaten a champion, I think he might be interested as it will draw a lot of crowd.
It's gonna give both fighters a big payday if the rematch happens, but I don't think it's good for Pacman's legacy as for sure, he might loss the fight.

Fans hated Thurman but what he showed in the ring gain him a lot of respect and being undefeated has no value if you cannot entertain the fans.

Sure he did. He gave Pacman a good fight. I was thinking, if he was not downed on the first round, he could have won the fight. He connected more and he dominated the late rounds.

Winding down.
And this is why Pacquiao is just laughing at them when they trash talk because he knows that they don't have the tools to beat him up.

I don't think so, Manny never underestimate his opponent, he showed how good he is because he trade hard and punish himself.
He is laughing because he can't beat the trash talkers in trash talking, he is not a native english and he is not that educated, it's hard for him to fight with battle of words so he did the talk in the ring.

Also adding the influence of Manny Pacquiao, there's a lot of crowds because they wanted to watch the fight of Manny, the people's choice. Thanks also to Thurman for his TT, well, it's very common for a fighter to trash talk his opponent to hype the fight. Even he trash talk Manny Pacquiao, he gives all of his best to win the game and fight a legend.

Agreed. The fans should know this part of any combat sport. It has a mix of entertainment to market and promote the fights. Conor became the most successful MMA fighter because of his big mouth hehehe.
Most of the trash takers have no success in sports, Mayweather is the only one I know that can do both, win the fight and trash talk (before and after).
Fans hated Thurman but what he showed in the ring gain him a lot of respect and being undefeated has no value if you cannot entertain the fans.

It's because Mayweather has the tools to back it up, just like Michael Jordan is on the basketball court. But the rest are just doing it for entertain and to sell the fights just like Thurman did here. And this is why Pacquiao is just laughing at them when they trash talk because he knows that they don't have the tools to beat him up.

About Mayweather fight? I don't really expect too much maybe this time after manny won the fight he might retire this time now.

If you don't know Manny and Mayweather meet again before this happen is even a thing and I think it may come. Again, Mayweather getting out of his retirement and fighting Manny Pacquiao, fans want it, some analysts think it may come but still we don't know. All I know is that if Manny will be getting up again in the ring, it will be Floyd Mayweather he will be facing.
It's interest many fans and speculators as this rematch will bring a big noise back to the boxing industry, after Manny defeated Thurman it's showed up that he still have something and with the expected fight with Mayweather surely it will again bring more interested fans and gamblers to place their owned opinions and predictions.
Yes, I think he can easily fight for 3 or 4 more years, because he's still a great champion.
But everybody want to see him fighting again against Mayweather now.
He knows it and I think Mayweather knows it too. The pressure on the 2 big stars is growing, they can't avoid it.

Knowing Manny Pacquiao, I don't think he will fight for more many years. He is a Senator in our country and according to an interview here in our local news, he will focus on his job. If that happens then it's a good thing though, the tax that we pay are his salary.

Forget about the salary, Manny does not need that, his earning in his recent fight is already equivalent to his salary 100 times or less if I'm not mistaken. His purpose is just to serve the people and to retain in power as well, who knows he will run for President in time.

Finally it was answered what had become THURMAN's statement before competing, and PACMAN had given a good attitude as a boxer. And also PACMAN won the WBA title from THURMAN.

Yes, to many trash- talk before the fight and see what happen, knockdown in the first round. Smiley

Age doesn’t matter indeed, that’s what we witnessed in Pacquiao-Thurman fight, this only shows that Pacman still is very passionate in boxing and that he is not only playing for money but he is playing for his passion to boxing. Pacquiao is far more experienced that Thurman that is why Pacman has an edge over Thurman. On the other note, this should teach a lesson to Thurman not to underestimate his opponents because it will only cause him humility.

Yes, indeed that age doesn't matter especially that if you are passionate in your career and also you're right that should teach him a lesson that doesn't underestimate your opponents, especially legends like Pacman. Smiley

That is true is age doesn't matter experience and skill with strong power punch and determination is the key of success. Any kind of games age is doesn't matter skill and brave are important things to achieve the goal.

What a shameful fight it had been for Thurman. I don’t know which side of his face he is going to show his supporter with all the empty talks he’d given towards Pacman, and at the end, lousy and shameful. Pacman maintained his calmness and good image. A humble but competent player. I so admire him not in the way he fights but the way he responded to his opponent’s trash talks on him.
Respect to Thurman though, he got my respect.

Yes, he is a class act, unlike other boxer that Pacman beat still claims up to this day think they have won against Manny,  Grin. It was a split decision though, I'm expecting Pacman to be the clear winner but Thurman had shine as well with his right. Congratulations to Pacman for a good performance and winning the belt.
He really made the best out of Manny and also he did his best for this match. He'd love to go with a second fight against the fighting senator but I don't think that we'll see it again.

He's truly a sportsman and much love to him now I guess. All of those hates because of his words before the match really brought the emotion of the boxing fans that triggered this match. He's not just a good fighter but also a salesman.  Tongue

The trash-talk was all part of the promotion and it works. It somehow irked Manny and the fans got a good fight. Thurman did his share on the fight, if not for that knock down on the opening round, the result could have been different but it's all part of the game and kudos to Manny for winning the title even at his age of 40.
