I'd like to make 3 comments based on some of the comments posted following my statement.

1. My ongoing role in settling this issue
I've seen repeated comments saying "if Pouncer agrees....", or something to that effect. I'd like to state that going forward, there is nothing that needs my agreement or approval to settle this issue. The buyer sent BTC to an address that was not an escrow address controlled by me. As an escrow agent, my task was to hold the BTC on behalf of the trading parties until the buyer was satisfied that the MSC has been delivered by the seller. Since the BTC bypassed me, there is nothing I could do now because that escrow trade has obviously been aborted due to the incident.

Regarding disclosure of private information of that trade, I am not at liberty to do so. However, nothing is stopping the trading parties to disclose such information should they wish to do so. Again, my consent is not required.

2. My liability on this trade
I'd like to thank Doron404 for his understanding in absolving me of any liabilities. I'd also like to thank other users who share the same opinion.

3. My future role as an escrow agent
I have the benefit of access to the entire trading history & trade information since we started the escrow form system. I have received additional information through PMs from other users regarding this issue. I have also spent considerable time digging into and analyzing relevant information in the public domain surrounding this issue.

Based on the above, I have reasons to believe that this may not be a random scam. As a precaution, and in the interest of traders using my escrow services, and of myself, I have decided that it is in the interest of all parties that I do not continue as an MSC escrow agent.

I appreciate the trust place on me by traders who have used my services. Thank you very much. I believe there are others who are willing and capable to temporarily fill this role before the DEx is launched. I'm also a small investor in MSC and am looking forward to its imminent launch.

Cheers!
thanks for your great job!

Based on the above, I have reasons to believe that this may not be a random scam.

Could you please tell us more about this?

I see no reason why important data which can help everyone should be kept secret.

There is a post from Pouncer describing the scam method.
you can Look for it a for it 2-3 pages ago.

They know how peezr scammed. They want to know why Pouncer thinks this method / other scam methods have been used before.

Again, this topic is created for buying and selling Mastercoins.
Discuss this anywhere else.

This issues greatly concerns this topic.

Stop censoring unless you own the thread.

I like Pouncer. I want him to be escrow. I got confirmation that indeed I was hacked, but No one is returning messages so I could reimburse him. This was my account, and my account got hacked when the forum went down. I accept all responsibility. It is not pouncers' fault.
If you want to reimburse Doron, please go ahead. Repeating 'I can reimburse him' but do nothing only makes more suspicion on you.
He never supplied a btc address.
Address sent by PM.
Let's now see if you are good for your word.

I always think it's beneficial to the community for early adopters to sell more MSC at current market price. MSC is supposed to be used rather than hoarded. Without selling, no new comers will come.

Hey all Smiley

I'd like to offer 150 MSC for sale at the current market rate.  Please let me know if you'd like to purchase.  I'm assuming if you're buying into Mastercoin that you have done your due diligence and thus know who I am.  With that said of course escrow is absolutely fine if you'd like to use it Smiley

Now - since I saw a couple of people (imo unfairly) having a pop at Tachikoma & rbdrbd for selling Mastercoins, I thought I'd pre-empt the inevitable "Zathras is dumping all his Mastercoins!" FUD and make a few comments of my own.

First and foremost I want to spend more time on this project.  It's a great project and gives me a lot of enjoyment to work on.  I'm talking with my employer about consulting for them rather than being full-time; this would give me lots more free time.  With that said, in the 4 months I've spent on Mastercoin I have received approx $6,000 and some MSC.  Hopefully you guys in the community will understand that $6,000 isn't the kind of money you can use to end full-time employment - not even close.  By selling some of my MSC I hope to build towards a buffer that allows me to make this move.

Secondly, the question will likely be raised - "why not wait until the DEx?".  Well the answer to that is quite simple also.  I am about to release my wallet (within the next couple of weeks).  I believe there is a large chance of this DEx feature increasing the value of MSC as more people jump in.  I believe there is a much smaller chance of this feature decreasing the value of MSC as it becomes much easier (skill wise) to sell MSC.  So, large chance of an increase = I'm holding a larger portion of my MSC.  Small chance of a decrease = I'm selling a smaller portion of my MSC.

It really is that simple, I certainly haven't lost faith or any of the other comments that were levied at my colleagues in the project.  Just as Gavin or any of the other Bitcoin devs selling a few Bitcoins doesn't carry a deeper meaning, nor does my selling some of my MSC.

Sorry if that comes across as flippant - it's not meant to, but I wanted to make sure I explained my position.  TL:DR; I'm trying to spend more time on Mastercoin Smiley

Thanks! Smiley

Its not like I am selling anything here or a merchant, so why would I need to buy an account?
I don't know & i don't care but it's the first think you bring on when you talk about trust & escrow...
Red flag, just have a look ! Guess what, cosmic coincidence, no message for 2 years.
Btw, no big deal. it's allowed here to buy and sell accounts

Quote
thats fine but its not cool to go around accusing people of buying accounts.
I'm not here to be cool, sorry mate but if i saw something fishy i had to report it.
It's fishy, don't you think ?

I bet i'm not the only one that registered in 2011 and didn't come back until 2013, "mate". Here is another forum I am registered to: same username, same avatar. And you can see I talk about bitcoin there too. Not everyone with a old account bought it, so don't go around putting down other peoples credibility.

eh, back to the thread. im selling msc @ 0.15 if anyone interested.

Yeah he sent me a PM on BHW with that account, so that checks out. Besides, if Patel deposits 5 BTC in order to act as escrow, then just make 5+ BTC transactions 5 BTC at a time.
