So... What kind of game is MARA Pool playing

And as they did it again twice in the last days, obviously the answer is the money game

But the funny thing is that's a resized image since:  Roll Eyes

I wonder why some can't stick to simple art that can be understood by anyone, much like:

Luckily enough outside consolidation and "art" there is not that much activity, fees are still around 12-15 sat/b

First of all, can anyone explain what causes such a sudden sharp rise in number of transactions? This just happened now.

That is a bit of a misleading graph, it's not tx per second, it is in vb/s.
So assuming I'm the only user if I send a consolidation one like :
https://mempool.space/tx/c5d2b9d5ae8941f05fd9be2a040564ab0c81f9af3cacde4bf3862e5c4a5299e7
that is ‎43 000 vb/s
if I send 10 of this
https://mempool.space/tx/9021a8d8061c5201aac5441e9bb171c572d2d9a62fa94e7a9a46948b3f809741
‎it's 1920 vb/s

Basically any service consolidating will make a spike in that graph.

How long would it take to confirm a 1 sat/vB transaction?

24+ hours? Has anyone tried it for consolidation?

I tried a 1 sat/vB consolidation as an experiment a month or so ago using a pruned node just to see if it will work and how long it would take.
Blockchain explorers still show it as unconfirmed. My node is still running. The transaction is composed of more than 50+ dust UTXOs Grin
Do unconfirmed month old transactions still get confirmed if ever fees get low enough a month after? Or is a rebroadcast needed?

It depends on the wallet software. I have tried something similar with blue wallet and every time the transaction was dropped from the mempool it was instantly resubmitted automatically. Eventually after 6 month it was confirmed when there was a timeframe where fees went to 1 sat/vByte.

So you can simply try it and wait for it to get confirmed. Just check that it is not thrown out of the mempool and if it is just resubmit it.

I'm looking at the transaction fees right now and there are still things that I don't understand.
First of all, can anyone explain what causes such a sudden sharp rise in number of transactions? This just happened now.

During the least 15 minutes,, transaction fee is around 15-20 sat/vByte but someone just sent a transaction with 40 sat/vByte and then increased fee via RBF up to 80 sat/vByte and just right now, they increased fee up to 208 sat/vByte.
Here is the transaction: https://mempool.space/tx/78e35dc01f976166bab5dcc5089c2649c97427cd28c4bc0ebde55a0fcb23d87f

Now I noticed, and I don't know if they had noticed. But the chart doesn't exactly reflect the rates in place at the time the bot makes the post.

In these two cases, it almost looks like the graphics have been swapped.

Here's the note.

The chart shows the last blocks' average 50% of transactions fees.

the Fastestfee, halfhourFee, etc are predictions of the incoming blocks , based on the minimum fee to get into them

Data should not match Wink

It seems as if the last few minutes-hours are missing on the chart image.

Is it just me, but in several days the fee has always been significantly higher after 3 pm (European time), is it possible that the NY market opening for trading affects that?

blocks around at 5PM
832557- 4:14pm
  -1tx 1sat/vb
  -1tx 4sat/vb
  -1tx 7sat/vb
  -1tx 9sat/vb
  -1tx 10sat/vb
  -1tx 11sat/vb
  -3tx 13sat/vb

832558- 4:20pm
  -1tx 1sat/vb
  -3tx 8sat/vb
  -1tx 9sat/vb
  -1tx 12sat/vb
  -1tx 13sat/vb
  -2tx 14sat/vb
  -5tx 15sat/vb
wasnt a block any closer to 5PM

832559- 5:01pm
  -1tx 1sat/vb
  -1tx 3sat/vb
  -1tx 4sat/vb
  -1tx 8sat/vb
  -1tx 17sat/vb
  -1tx 18sat/vb
  -2tx 19sat/vb

so bots minimums are off, must be taking averages over a few blocks or average of cheapest # of tx's
