Not to derail this thread with identity politics, but women are not such delicate flowers that they can't withstand some guy making a joke about ugly girls on a male-dominated forum--and I think suchmoon has a sufficiently thick skin such that he/she isn't going to be cowering in a closet in the fetal position over it.We're in trouble if bitcointalk gets to the point where we have to start self-censoring our posts to avoid offending people. That's much worse than the joke he told, IMO.If you think that telling a girl that she is ugly is a joke, than walk into any public place, bar, restaurant, cafe, e.t.c. and tell any girl that she is an ugly granny (especially than she is sitting with a guy) and watch what will happen.
It would depend completely on the location of the bar or public place and type of female that was approached.
In some countries where men are chivalrous it might start a fight. In some places you might get a friendly tap on the shoulder from security and asked to leave.
In some countries where women are emancipated you will probably get laughed at, ridiculed and ignored.
Such comment is likely to be met by a look of surprise and:" Were you talking to me ? Or your reflection in the door ?"
