Not true. This is not an automatic way to earn merits. While I, personally, can appreciate the non-shitposts and helpful posts, that doesn't mean that you will automatically be awarded merits. For example, I come across an array of posts about "how to earn bounties" or "the best campaigns to join", which may be considered helpful to some members, but you'll never see me merit these types of posts.
I know that......
automatically mean, If you're post is good enough to get rewards it will attract the the seniors and they will give you merits....For this you don't need to do any work just make a useful post, the senior will make their decision.............and I just meant it...If I did any wrong, forgive me...

I agree with this, because as a newbie rank,i should have an effort to do something that can lead to have merits, and it is interesting for me. Every merit that i can have, will be the fruit of my hardworks and efforts.

Yes that's the spirit. Take it easy , take your time. Read, research , post , repeat. Someday , it will all workout as long as you just keep reading and posting at the same time. Note to self as well.

Some suggestions by me

We, the jr.members and newbies make posts  to get some merits. For this, we post so many shitposts which are not necessary for the people. First time I also made so many shitposts but now I realized that merit comes automatically when you post some new and helpful posts. If you post some helpful post which can help other people, the senior will automatically give you merits as your reward....So, guys.. specially newbies and jr.members try to make some new and creative post, merit will come by your talent...Best of luck✌

a question that I do not find information. to be able to add images in a post that I should have rank?
Of course, you can't at the moment.
Only Junior Member rank and above can display their attached images in their threads. For now, you can add links to your images, but they will not appear ATM, and will be automatically appear immediately in your threads later when you ranked up to Junior member rank.

You should read the topic, which created by Lauda to give newbies basic stuffs of the forum.

Just to clarify, how many post or activity do we need to level up to another rank? Or it doesn't really matter how many post or activity you made, it all depends on the merits ?

Have you really had an account since June 2016 and you haven't found the sticky at the top of this board yet? Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) . It's all explained in there.

I have been inactive for a long time and when I get back , there is this merit thing. Im not really into checking about how the ranking goes not until this merit thing came up. Anyway thanks for the info. 👍

I certainly understand the logic for this system. But it's going to be extremely hard for legitimate people to rank up. While those who have connections...
But I truly understand the logic behind it all. I just hope to get the ten merit points that I need. But I just don't see people putting that extra work even if they liked a comment. They'll just move on to the next.
i dont think member should care about ranking up or not.If they are making contribution to the forum that might be enough for them. Why everyone wants something in return? i have been in 100s of different forum people posted thousand of posts without thinking what they are gonna get in return.

If you make an awesome work, you can get 20 merit points with only 1 post, we have many examples in meta section. However, people having 1000 posts with #reserved #join will not get any smerit for sure.

I think it's pretty hard to get merit points, because there is so much people reporting new threads, or making good quality contents, that's left so low gap to make content that's  will bring merits points. I m on this forum since few months, reading topics, and participating, but when you are young like me in Crypto Market, what can i say to get merit Huh.

This is quite a high end user preference system... Because new guys like me, that begin to participate to this market will never have merit till years (need to know well the market, or need to make a miner, or a cryptomonnaie to maybe get merits points)

I think this system is pretty unfair, and let so low space to new guys like me to get avance in rank member.

Without merit point you can't get only 1 rank advancement. It's like a aristocracy system

This kind of merit system pushes people to post quality content which is a good practice for this community. However the awarding of merits should have a basis. Like a point system without an established basis is not fair at all.

this system is very cool, make someone pay attention to the post he made, avoid the post less good.
the better the post, the more chances of getting merit.

Weekly update sorry for delay
~
Thanks coinlocket$ for your continuous analysis on merit distributions in the forum.
I guess you will keep doing this for a long period of time, so I have small suggestion for you.
It might be better, more professional if you make your plots like this one (time series plots):
For statistical tutorials, you can visit there:
1) Stata Time Series Analysis.
2) Welcome to STAT 510 – Applied Time Series Analysis

Of course, I can make those plots but I don't have datasets, and I guess you are not readily to share those datasets.  Grin

Hope it helps!

I have read and followed the comments of members of high merit as well as the author of this topic. I understand that in order to have merit points I have to actively work as well as have meaningful and quality articles to contribute to the forum. I have read every page in this thread. The article is very good and meaningful, I will try my best to contribute to the forum. Thank you very much. Wish you a lot of luck in life

i honestly think begging for merits should be also banned for life.Everybody crying about merit and requesting for almost nothing.

Shouldn't we rather accept the merit system and move on? Merit has come to stay for the best interest of this community as proposed by Admins. Thankfully, Merit is instilling sanity in the forum. But just like any other rules the full purpose of the Merit system can only be realized through effective, fair and balanced implementation. Despite the good intentions behind the Merit system it has a  major challenge which is the lack of objectivity in the award of merits. In other words whether or not a post or comment deserves a Merit point is at the discretion of the giver. OK, a really, really good post deserves some Merit points, but most times you come across some Merit winning posts and you can't help but ask: What really passes for a really, really good post? So long as the award of Merit points is subject to the personal judgement of the giver Merits can't be said to be a true measure of the responsibleness of a member or the quality of his/her posts, and is open to abuse for the same reason.

This really make a lot of sense. We cant really know if we are posting a valid post to get a merit since the decision will come from a giver. You can claim your post is quality post but how about from their point of view ? I think its still better to level up to a new rank by the number or activity and maybe add the time the person is online. Anyway lets just accept it for now ang hopefully this will have a good outcome.
