all though there’s posts not much good.
There is so much wrong in these seven words alone that I doubt you'd be able to properly judge what a good post even is, much less whether it's a noob or Legendary member who's making it.  What is clear is that you're obviously jealous of people who are getting their posts merited and that you're being kept from greater earnings via bounty shitposting.

I've learned in life that you can either write well or you can't, and the vast majority of people I've met have little talent for it, and I'm not talking about people here on bitcointalk--I'm talking about the people I've met in my country, where English is the official language.  So it's not a shock that everyone here who are from countries where English probably isn't even taught and who are trying to splice together phrases about how bitcoin is increasing day by day and has a bright future have no ability to write anything that resembles coherent content.  It's been proven more times than the Pythagorean Theorem.

When are you guys going to realize that more senior members haven't just started here, trying to earn money spamming for bounties?  They tend to have a more vested interest in bitcoin and bitcointalk, and they know more about bitcoin and the forum and thus have more interesting things to say.  Get over it.  Bitching about reality and how it's not conforming to your expectations is childish and ultimately futile.

The merit system is very difficult. You have to do a lot to get Merit. But sometimes you can not get the money back
I've read a lot of shitposts in my time, and this has got to be one of the most idiotic I've come across.

But did you notice the sig that Pajeet is wearing? Talk about irony...
Big LOL.

I am really sorry that my English is not that much good but I swear I am not jealous of you guys. I do respect my elders always. I am just hopeless for not getting enough  merit points to rank up. I hope you can understand my situation.
By the way Thanks for your attention to my post.

Even you wrote a good post or article people are afraid to give you merit to loss there time. There’s many people they only give merit to legendary people all though there’s posts not much good.
For this reason I think there should have a option to get some merit when someone is giving merit.
I mean by giving he also earn some.

I looked through your posts to see if I could award you some merit, but I've ended up by putting you on ignore for begging for merit in this post.

Thanks for your attention bro! But they offered to give me merit in that post so I just participated in their reward to get some merit. Nothing else.
I hope you can understand the reason.

But it is an old post (year 2013) and maybe it is an old post...

It is an old post that has been updated with all the changes as they happened so the information is current.

Your post is more recently and you do not speak about "GOLD COIN".
Can you clear this situation about GOLD COIN? Are they are needed for example to get the rank Jr Member? If they are needed how can I get them?

You don't need the gold coins for anything but they are displayed under people usernames so that the higher ranks stand out without having to read the rank title.

Very well thought out, well done. By the way were random messages, and video thought to myself-why the forum no likes, so I would like, but now you have the chance. Only still very much for this you need to earn more merit points Cheesy

I actually did not understand what you said. However, I disagree about the idea “I mean by giving he also earn some.” That will cause so much spammer and flooded merit in the forum.  People will just give merit to anyone or even their alt accounts just to advance their ranks. It will cause disorder for sure and that is not the purpose of the merit system.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
 - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.
 - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.

Jet Merits and Talk Cash have still got sMerits to award, but where are all the good posts?
Maybe I've got too many people on ignore or something.

Well there is one for coin locker, but shouldn't the merits be going to chat about Bitcoin?

If you have smerits to dish out, then don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.  There are plenty of good posts out there that can be merited.. and by the way, sometimes, I give out merits to persons who post a bunch of mediocre posts, but in that case, I feel that I am giving merits to the person and for their overall contributions to the forum and not to any one post that the person made.

this is very generous of you. i'd do that, too. i gave out all the smerits i had, and i thought they will be refundable. but it seems that they are not.

If I give you the benefit of the doubt, you may have made some legitimate mistake in your belief that smerits were going to be refunded, but if you had truly looked into the matter and/or thought about it, you had spent 2 smerits within the first 30 days, and then you spent an additional 5 smerits in the next 30 days.  You were not even prudent about your spending of your smerits because you spent 7 smerits on two members.

In some sense, your story does not really add up, even if I give you the benefit of the doubt.

but unfortunately the majority of people here is different (but it's only my opinion, i might be wrong), apparently they think that a person should invent another blockchain to become good enough for a couple of smerit points))).

I doubt that we can really attribute any kind of narrow set of motivations to members regarding their choices to spend their smerits.  Ultimately there is a lot of personal discretion involved, and surely if some of the members are good at hodling their bitcoins, they also might believe it to be prudent to hodl some of their smerits.. maybe budget a certain amount to spend per month or per week?  But of course, there is individual variation, and you did get my point that it is likely that some folks just have very high standards in terms of what is going to cause them to spend their smerits.

i feel that i stuck with my rank. cause i don't think i can get 150 merits in years))

I have decided to give you 1 smerit for your overall posts, and to give you some benefit of the doubt, even though your story is a bit implausible.  Also, your posts are a bit mediocre too (which some might characterize as shit posting), but I think that with some efforts you could perhaps improve your post quality by engaging in threads that are interesting to you and to try to provide meaningful responses to members in order to help members to understand matters more clearly (or from another perspective).

If you try to provide substantive meaning and to help other forum members, then it is likely that you could at least earn some merits and to thereafter be able to increase yourself in rank.  Sometimes considering quality of posts rather than spitting out quantity of posts is good, and sometimes it is possible to accomplish both.  I will concede that it can be a bit time-consuming to really improve the quality of your posts - and perhaps even to limit the number of your responses to some manageable amount - let's say 5 quality posts per week or some other goal that you believe is something that you can work towards improving your post quality, attracting attention of other members and thereby earning merits.

can you please explain me something. i got some 6 smerits, i gave them out more than a month ago. so this is it for me? no more smerits will be given to me?
i have read somewhere that they are refundable and in 30 days, i'll have the same number of smerits to share.. but i have nothing.
thanks a lot in advance.

Even though your framing of your question seems to suggest that you already do know the answer, in the responsive post, above, DdmrDdmr has clearly addressed your question.  I have given an smerit to DdmrDdmr, even though he seems to have spent a decent amount of time answering a question that has been answered several times in this thread... but anyhow, I was feeling like spending some extra smerits, today.... hahahahahhaha

That’s it in terms of free airdropped sMerit (derived from airdropped Merit). The initial amount does not get restocked, as it would render the merit rather pointless. From now on the path to being able to award others sMerit is by gaining it first through noticeable posts that gain merit for you when someone awards you with it.

The 30 day refundable quantity is a misconception. It applies to specific limited and discrete user accounts that have a role of Merit Source. Having merit in the user profile is not the same as being a merit source. That I have seen misinterpreted more than once.

You’re leaving out two important parts to the equation, and thus oversimplifying your argument.

1. New sMerit is also generated in the Forum.  See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=sources
That means that up to 17.800 sMerits are newly created every 30 days. Distribution of them depends on many factors, but they are potentially generated and definitively new to the overall pool.

2. The total estimated amount of initial sMerit (aggregating all users) was of around 600K.

That means that even though sMerit transfer causes a decay by halving the resendable sMerit, Merit Sources counter balance that fact, and also there is still plenty overall from the initial genesis in theory.

Weekly update is here guys. sMerit still decreasing Sad almost 50% less in 6 weeks  Cry

sMerit will keep decreasing. Why?  Now i give you a simulation.

If Aa have 1000 Merit and 500 sMerit
Bb have 600 Merit and 300 sMerit
And Cc have 200 Merit and 100 sMerit
(900 total of sMerit)
Cc create a good post --> Aa and Bb give all of they merit to Cc.(800 total sMerit given) .

How many Cc have sMerit? And how many total sMerit now?
He/she have 500 sMerit now (this is the total of sMerit). Because you get 0.5 sMerit every Merit received
