Interesting. Will keep an eye on this.
Nice passive income.
Hope this is a good idea and future results will be good for crypto.

Imagine if by mining through your TV you make enough money just to cover for the electricity bill. That's already a bargain... No idea how they'll make this happen lol but I'm pretty sure it has to be somewhat profitable, otherwise nobody will buy it

LOL, so with this TV, you would be able to mine 0.043 BTC per year, I'm willing to bet that you would indeed spend more on power.
Okay, you might be able to make a small profit, depending on your electricity prices, but this just doesn't seem sorth it.
If they launch a coin and develop it properly and very well, it might come true. But I think uniting a TV with ASIC like that is actually dangerous for the TV, it's better to separate it from the risk of overheating.

That idea is good, but I don't think it’s effective. moreover the intensity of people watching movie isn’t long, human eyes need rest, whereas if it’s just for mining will also waste resources to process and display the film, and again the heat generated by mining tools will have a bad impact on the LED.

I don't think there is much practical effect in mining bitcoin with TV. If I choose, then I will choose to create a mobile phone mining function! I think this is even cooler.

Seems quite innovative. As many of us spend few hours in for the of tv to watch movie or other entertainment. So it will be good to want while watching

Very surprising and unusual. I have one question what kind of power it gives and how much can you earn bitcoins or whatever he produces.

Sounds cool but will not happen.
Tv and mining are two very different things technically.

does this mean that the coins/tokens we get are rewards because we have used their services? if you say that is a mining, i don't think so. mining needs so much equipments like reliable graphics card
Back to the old thick TV again, feel the CRT TV again but it’s hotter and uses more power lol. I‘m sure even though I have been mining, we have to pay the rental fee every month. And talking about heat, is it okay for the LED to receive a very unusual heat from a mining machine? Isn’t it will damage?

A lot of possibilities exist, technology is advancing, I won't doubt it if this eventually becomes a reality, though I still do not see the huge profit potential

As I remember, I never heard about this before.
The tv is give coin rewards for it's users ? It can not be called as mining I think.

Or the tv will be installed with mining tool equipments inside ?
I think the price will be expensive and need much electric monthly to run it.

It will have mining gear installed, the second largest mining company will be the one developing this, among other appliances. A whole BTC-mining appliances line are coming your way Wink

Expensive and probably consuming higher levels of energy? Yeh probably, we will have to wait and see once they launch the products

That means we can mine cryptocurrencies  while we are watching TV, that is a very cool idea! However, the power consumption and lifespan of the machine is questionable. I think they have to strike a balance among power consumption, lifespan and hash power.

I think they are just picking up the hype. TV mining is not realistic. Mobile phone mining can be feasible. They just sell TV sets.

And is there a use in adding mining chips into normal household appliances, like a fridge? Some people think there is.
Also, there would be no damage done. It's simple engineering. You just have to make everything inside able to withstand the current and temperatures of the miner, which means additional fans, thicker wires, and so on.

first of all your home appliances like your fridge are not  connected to the internet! and it is not like people are allowing unknown entities access their home network to connect to the internet. if they do their neighbors would go bananas.

secondly it is not "simple engineering". it is actually pretty hard. because first thing to do is to put an ASIC in and think about  the additional electricity usage and additional heat that is going to generate. for example your fridge is already generating a lot of heat if you add an ASIC that heat will be a lot more!!! and then finally think who would be the idiot who pays for such a fridge in his home when there are normal fridges that don't produce that much heat and don't consume that much electricity.

Are you sure about that?

You can grab one made by samsung and have it at home in a couple days. It's not even that expensive, costs about as much as a new iphone.

You should really get a tech update. Most appliances can be connected to the Internet these days.
