does this minera run on top of a rasp os? slightly confused on that..

it depends.  You can have a Raspian image running, then install Minera into it 'manually'

or DL  the minera img, and poof, its like magic. running on its own.

  --------
reread the question...

if your asking if that minera img is running on rasbian, that part i dont know.  its likely.

How about... whats your need?  ie: why do you want to know that part.  maybe it'll show how to answer better..

or.. get past the first part , and the next answer will tell you more! Smiley

hope some of my random babble helps.

poof like magic sounds good..  lol

ive got my zeus's going on that cgminer scrypt on a laptop that my kids have thrashed.. so i got a raspberry pi coming and although it has cool things i dont mind if it is just a miner..

and if I was able to load an OS and then manually load it and also do some stuff while mining.. that would be cool too...

Well...  other things.. hm.   you... might be able to browse etc.   but any cpu usage and your either lagging hard, or taking away from the mining.
Order 2 Wink
after its setup and running, mining away, you only gotta check on it every few days.   (and u can do that from the 2nd raspberry) Smiley
for $40 ish... how can u go wrong?

two device work with --scrypt --zeus-options /dev/ttyUSB3 --zeus-chips 64 --zeus-clock 238 --zeus-nocheck-golden --zeus-options /dev/ttyUSB1 --zeus-chips 180 --zeus-clock 270 --zeus-nocheck-golden but first and second device work at clock 270 Undecided

I, for one, would like to add jobs (cron or otherwise) to the minera environment.
I have a postgres database where I keep all the active/historical pool stats. I would like to configure a job to query the database and actively switch pools based on profitability.

hello, how it will look for cgminer or bfgminer in comand line for two device zeus
--scrypt --zeus-chips 64 --zeus-clock 238 --scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB0 \--zeus-options--zeus-chips 180 --zeus-clock 270     --scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB1

this truy but dont work Sad

Pretty sure you have to run 2 instances of cgminer/bfg if the settings are different.
(again, im just using my own personal logic)   the creator can tell you true Smiley

Thats my point.

they are different networks.    192.168.x.y

the y is each computer.   the x is each network.

(rough speaking ofc)

in the settings on the 2nd router... there is a ...option (well it should be) that lets you ...slave it to the first one.

(makes it like a gateway i think is the right wordage)

yes im sure its on the same network.

so here is what i have shaw cable modem with 4 port hub on back.
my computer is connect wired to that modem
2nd computer connect wired to that modem
my ps3 the same
and then the last port is connected by wire to my asus router.

then i have my miner connected to the asus router with wire.
i use to have a computer in that room as well but it died on me and i havent had the time to figure out whats wrong with it.

the ip address of the cable modem is 192.168.0.1

i have read the default ip address of the 2nd router should be 192.168.1.1

but when i enter that on my computer i just get a unknow page.

but heres the funny thing. i have a tablet thats connected to the asus router wireless and i can access either modem config or the router config but not the other way around from my computer. which makes no sence to me.

so i brought out my miner and connected it right to the modem itself. and i was able to connect to it here on my computer and enter in my pool address and get it all up and running just fine. but as soon as i took it back into the spair room and turned it back on nothing happens. it just wont connect to the pool and start mining.

i have tried reseting the router as well as turning it off and on and same thing. i guess ill just have to try and figure out whats wrong with the computer in the spair room and just use that.

are you sure its on the same network actually?  (you say router, and not switch/hub)  if its a router, it would have its own network id/name/address.

so ..for instance.. if your 'main' one is 192.168.0.1  the new one might be 192.168.10.1 instead.

if i remember correctly... you can set your default ....network . (ugh nm my memory)  anyhow..see if thats the issue first.

if so, you would do a network discovering. (ie: search for networks) wording based on OS, and version etc.

Goodluck. Smiley hope im right. its easy to do if so.  (create a shortcut on desktop pointing to the correct address) Smiley

hey all. so i was having some trouble with my gridseed miner. so i decided to upgrade my minera on a new flash drive. i have that all working just fine. but here is my problem.

my computer is in my living room connected wired into my cable modem. i have added another router into a spair room. and my miner is connected to that. but im not able to load up the web interface for minera on my computer.

i do have a tablet that is connected to the spair room router and i can access minera from there.

but when i go into the settings to add my mail pool url nothing happens. the keyboard window doesnt pop up so i cant enter a pool to mine on.

i know i should be able to connect to the 2nd router from my computer in my living room but for some reason it wont connect.

anyone have any ideas. i need to get my machines back up and running. lol

Sad thing is... alexa cant access local networks... everything has to be pulled in via amazon cloud. Sooooo you'd have to have a vpn setup and whole bunch of other crazy sh*t to get it to work.

BUT if i use MMR (which i do) i could link to that as a minera status.

Would be better if i could just say "open minera restart miner" that would be great lol

Hmmmmm

"Alexa, open minera status"

"Minera is hashing scrypt at 24 mega hashes per second, temperature is 109F."

Yay....

Now for MMR status lol

Hello everyone
I'm new to mining and just installed minera on a rasberry pi 3 and I was wondering if I needed any usb miner stick or if just mining on the pi was possible.
Thank you.

Forget it. You need specific Mining hardware.

I have a question on bfgminer with following string:

Code:
--sched-stop

I know the above code set time of day to quite mining using HH:MM.
My question is:
Is it possible to use the above to stop mining in 3 days like:

Code:
--sched-stop <72:00>

If not then how to do so?
Not sure if I need including < > in string but knowing proper syntax will be great!

Hey All,

So I decided I'd see if I could get Minera running on an old BitCrane T-110s which has a cubieboard a10 controller.

I got myself a clean MicroSD card and flashed it with the latest Minera 0.7.0 and took the MicroSD card that was in the cubieboard in the T-110s out and replaced it with the Minera MicroSD card.

Now I can't get to any webpage or SSH into Minera or the Jessie Debian shell using PuTTY, as it doesn't appear to have picked up a DHCP IP address, nor did it carry over my old static IP address from the BitCrane Cubian configuration (which is not surprising since that was on the MicroSD card I removed). Any ideas on how I can SSH or web into Minera when I don't know or have a new IP address? Also is it possible that the cubieboard isn't booting this card, which my understanding is that it was built for Raspberry Pi?

Regards,

Chris

Cubieboard is not tested with the SD Card image provided, I could suggest to start with an SD Card with Raspian installed and then follow the steps to install Minera "manually":

Code:
sudo apt-get install -y redis-server git screen php5-cli php5-curl
cd /var/www
sudo git clone https://github.com/michelem09/minera
cd minera
sudo ./install_minera.sh

For cubie boards images go here https://www.armbian.com/cubieboard-1/ you have to use  php7.0 if you use Ubuntu 16 then do a manual minera install . I use two cubie boards and orange PI's . and one banana pi with Ubuntu 16 and the minera beta and the old version of minera and do a manual minera install they work with the beta and old minera. I use a cubieboard a10 controller from BitCrane that was intened to be used with BitCrane miners i bought off new egg dirt cheap  and made it a normal controller that powers my Alchemist miner and it even powers my Avalon 6 with minera , i don't use the openWrt controller  Avalon gave us .

@michelem how long before you add USB miners to the beta, i would love to run it all with one minera and would love it to be the new version .right now i still use the old minera as my software miner and use the beta to test or look at from time to time, i don't use it much .

Joy at last my stup has been running for a day and 16 hours and at about 3am this morning it started acepting shares! I am running cgminer-gekko compiled from 'Novak' instuctions and the '--enable-gekko' flag and options of  '--compac-freq 175 --hotplug 0'. I think I will buy two more gekko compac USB sticks when I find some, now.

Still a bit stange though because I have the same pool details twice but pool 0 gets lost shares where pool 1 gets accepted shares according to the log but under 'local pool details' the first pool gets accepted shares and the second pool gets none. As long as it works I wont complain.
