I was wondering what's minimum / ideal amount of BTC or ETH I should have in order to start trading activity

If you have any idea or just want to share your first experience in crypto trading, feel free to write them bolow
All depends on your trading skills and your financial ability, if this is first trading for you then use the minimum fund for example 0.05BTC, but if you have skill trading and you are able to provide 1BTC fund then it will be much better. I use 0.03 BTC at the beginning of my trading and for now I prefer to trade from IDR(my local currencies)-BTC.

Trade with the ETH judging by your knowledge and experience, this will suit you for sure. Especially there you can start with a small amount, which is easy to get a beginner in any bounty project.

Sometimes I'm also using eth for my trading because there are some coins that are much cheaper when you use eth than btc and so I always check the rate before I start trading.
For me, start with small amount and just add little by little when you already profited and have a decent experience. They say just invest what you afford to lose but the thing is nobody want to lose a single penny so just start with small amount.

I think you should start with a minimum coin deposit and gain some experience from it,.. take your time on in and learn through the process, after you gain some experience now you can go for big deposit and be a legendary trader.. Smiley

I would recommend starting out with a small sum like $100-200 and trying to make short term profits by investing in altcoins as the Bitcoin market has seen a significant crash lately. This would ensure you experience and with the right choices and timings, you will end up with some profit too. Just look around in the altcoin section for potentially up and coming coins and divest into multiple alts just to be sure that you won't go down in one bow.

I agree. You need to actually have a substantial about to trade because having only a little would only limit the trades you can do. It's like going to a war with very little fire power. In trading, it would be better to possess a good amount because you may not know if the opportunity would come that would need for you to trade in a big amount for a bigger profit.

Having very little is of no use or value. Maybe you wont be able to trade as different exchanges have different minimum trading limit. Actually if the OP has very limited resources to trade, then he should wait and get a considerable amount so that he can be able to get profits, other the money will just be lost in moving the coins in and out of exchanges as withdrawals from exchanges has higher fee.

it is difficult to know the minimum amount to start trade because every people don't have the same balance and we don't have the same skill to trade. so I think you need to check your money first before you decide to start trade and you need to determine how much money you want to use to trade. I think the ideal amount of bitcoin is about 0.1 btc to start or 3 eth so you can get move for many coins and you will use the amount to buy the coins.
I think one should think carefully before starting coin trading. It is obviously clear that every body have its own range of minimum depending on his capital. If some body wants buy coins, he should start with minimum so as to know trend of market and to avoid any mishap. Once you have begun trading with minimum and become aware of market then you can invest your max capital in trading.

With trading, I think that you should start with a small budget such as $100 or $200. This is your "school fee". After learning many things, you can use more money to trade.

There is no minimum or maximum amount to start in trading as long as you can afford to lose. But keep in mind that bigger amount to trade the bigger risk. If you want to try and have an experience, start with a small amount until you know the basics of trading then you can now trade large amount
As in the quote, there is no minimum or maximum value to be used for the trading purpose. It entirely depend upon the ability of the user. At the beginning I started with just $100 worth of altcoins in my trading account. Further when I gained knowledge about do's and don't with trading increased the capital.

I started trading with just BTC0.00279476 at Yobit.
I bought two coins, and I am still holding one of the coin because it is a dead.
At that time I didn't know anything about crypto trading, but I took little risk to learn.
I was in at Yobit's signature campaign and whatever I earned I bought coins time to time regularly.
Unfortunately almost all the coins I bought at that times are shit coins. Simply, I was newb and I was learning.
Believe me or not I am holding 48 shit coins in yobit till now. I don't even know when I can be able to sale all those coins.

If you know something about trading and at least know which coins are best to trade then I will recommend a minimum of BTC0.1 to start trading with.

Good Luck!

In trading no need to use maximum amount. In altcoin trading you could use small figures of satoshi, but minimum amount is 50 satoshi. But i realize to read your thread that you are new in trading, or may be you have no experience of trading, then i suggest you, start trading with a minimum amount of satoshi.
Yes it is better to start in the minimum amount because there are many mistakes that you've been made while starting to trade and practice to make own strategies. Losses is just a part because you are also a beginner and didn't want to loss big amount of money that's why it is better to start at the low amount into high amount on which is you have an experiences about trading.

I do not think there is an ideal limit for starting a trade
.. if the more our capital then of course the more profit we can .. but all of that back at the rate of the coins that we trade and the percent increase amount from the beginning we buy.. Smiley

No minimum coin.
You have to know your goal,
What is your goal, is it doable under that amount of money and how long to get it?

Yes, there is no minimum coin to start trading as @Rostchild said. It really depends on your goal and most importantly how much you can lose...

I guess at least the bitcoin you have for tranding altcoin and getting a profit that is 0.01 btc is in my opinion already more than enough for tranding altcoin.

Well the decision really is up to you and it all depends on how much budget are you willing to invest. Will you go all in or not. For me i would start small and see wether i will gain or not and if the result is the latter then my lose would be minimal.
