I was wondering what's minimum / ideal amount of BTC or ETH I should have in order to start trading activity

If you have any idea or just want to share your first experience in crypto trading, feel free to write them bolow

I think in trading, the profit earned depends on the capital to be used, the greater the capital, the profits to be gained will also be great

According to me it all depends on how much profit you want to earn
Some people just want to withdraw more than what they have deposited just to gain experience if that's the case even 1$ is fine
But in case you have a specific profit target you should start with 1/2 of it.
Example you want 50$ so invest 25$ and trade till you reach 75$.

There is no minimum bitcoin or ethereum in trading as long as you can afford to lose if your having a bad day in trading. Personally, i only start up with 5$ worth of bitcoin back january and trade it to some alt coins which failed me to get profit because of trashcoins. If only i could bring back the time and just HODL my bitcon i have 10x of my investment now.
It is a good idea to start with minimum coins as one has to be familiar with the market. You can learn more about trading when you get involved practically in business. With minimum investment you will avoid undue risk in your business. By getting experience in your job you can increase your capital in order to get more profit. Bitcoins is the best choice for investment. In order to stabilize yourself financially you should invest carefully.

It is not necessary to begin with a high price but you must be strategized when you want to start with low capital. But as a beginner I think it is good to begin with small amount. With that you are gaining experiences that you can use in trading.

First time you need is learn basic trading because no matter how much your fund,  if you cant trading,  you will cut lose or get panic when price come down / dump.  I am New in trading,  my teacher advice me no need use a lot money when beginning.  My other friend also advice me never use main income for trading.
First time i trading,  i only use 100k sat on bittrex but realize minimum trading is 50k sat.  Not match with lesson i learn,  so i add until 300k sat.  I use minimum limit for trading with a few alts coin,  and hold a little for martingale.  So far i only add fund from faucet,  never use from my main income.
Hope my answer can help you to decide it

This in my opinion is the best part of bitcoin. Bitcoin is divisible in to millions so you can trade with any amount you can afford! I started with 0.01 btc in those days. i remember during those wild pump and dump I will be lucky sometime and my 0.01 can became 0.1 then if I am too slow to lock profit I will lose all.

Start with a mimimal amount maybe 0.01-0.04 btc for me that would be the average if you want lo learn what trading is and don't forget you must do your own researh before buying a coin.

For the minimum amount for trading even for the beginners is 0.09 to 0.2 so that you will see immediate result more than that needs to be a veteran for trading because the risk to loose your money is 50% that will depends on your skills and experience to lessen the risk will not cease it is always there mostly for trading crypto currency due to being hard to speculate what will be the price due to the high fluctuations so better to gain some experience and advice from pro traders.

The good thing with most Crypto exchanges (like Bittrex) is that the fee which they charge is in the form of a percentage (Bittrex charges 0.25% per trade). This means that you can begin to trade with as little coin as you want! however, you must take into consideration the minimum trade value of the exchange (Bittrex requires a minimum trade value of 50K Satoshi).

BTW: I use Bittrex as the example because it is the exchange that I use and the exchange that I recommend you to use.

Good luck and stay safe! Tongue

Up to you and there's chance to start trading with little money you have. As long the money is not borrowing and include your main daily needs, it is good to replace it as fund for trading. Everyone has their own answer depend their experience but the main problem is do you understand the real market works? because if you don't, loss will become your friends even you have a lot of money. Most of us will start trading with 0,5 btc or 1 eth and that's ok. Just start it now, learn the market works and experience will give you the right answer. Good luck with your trading.

it is difficult to know the minimum amount to start trade because every people don't have the same balance and we don't have the same skill to trade. so I think you need to check your money first before you decide to start trade and you need to determine how much money you want to use to trade. I think the ideal amount of bitcoin is about 0.1 btc to start or 3 eth so you can get move for many coins and you will use the amount to buy the coins.

Actually there is no particular amount in order for you to profit most. With only let's say, 200 usd, you can profit a lot. Why? Because of strategy. Have a good strategy and you can win a lot of trades. Many people are only depending on Technical analysis of sonebody.
Yes, it's totally dependent on people's budget, I started with $ 100, so I spent a lot of time trying to make a profit, I made about $ 5,000 profit.

There is no such minimum amount mentioned strictly in any trading platform. If you have $100,then you could start trading with it.Starting with a small amount is good for trading because even if you face loss due to lack of experience, then too it would be only very little. But after gaining prior experience, invest more since you would be getting only low profit with a smaller investment.

My thought is to play with 3-5 coin a day for easier to monitor, I think if I start in about $100-$200 will be a bit useless if the coin i play have a high value (even it dump). If I play with cheap coins, when the price movement is low, it makes no difference.

How do you figure? One of the great things about spot crypto trading is that bitcoin is divisible down to 0.00000001 BTC, so it almost doesn't matter where a full coin is trading.   Let's assume you're trading on bittrex which has a 50k satoshi limit for smallest position size.   At current rates that's about $3.  Even with a $500 stop loss you're only risking about $.30

As for low price movement, yeah compared to BTC, XRP (for example) isn't exactly tearing up the charts but to go from $.20 to $.22 is still a 10% move.  Also, you can still make money in range-bound markets  it's just a different strategy that may (or may not) suit you.

As always, YMMV.

there is not really much of a minimum amount really. and people usually stick to bitcoin only since the long term bitcoin is the only one that remains and ethereum is much harder to hold in a proper wallet such as  cold storage safely and also its price is to dumpy.

i have started with about $100 worth of bitcoin, maybe a little less. and then worked my way up. it is important not to go big in and stick to a small amount which you can afford to lose. and also remember to keep your coins out of exchanges and in cold storage if you don't want it all to go up in smokes over night.

Any amount that you can afford to loose. If you are good with it, then go ahead but as the majority says here that small amount gives you a small profit. Go for high starting fund and be sure you have your knowledge about trading and you are good to ho if you have that.
