So the company only requires a 35% deposit.  But then says "the remaining 65% required 3 months before shipping."  So, really, all 100% is paid up front and what's the magic number many credit card companies go by for filing disputes?  That's right, 90 days (AKA 3 months). 

I don't know.  Gridseed scrypt miners are real and in hand by several users right now.  Looking forward to this tech developing and I wouldn't want to miss out.  But... the psyche out/head fake on describing the deposit sort of made me laugh.

As mentioned to Mrrr  and after reading this thread this afternoon, I want to comment on the guessing and give you a brief description where needed.

So why are we based out of Maastricht?

Because I have the European HQ for all my business in Maastricht for over many years already. The decision for Maastricht Stationsplein was taken years ago, because office space was available for growth of the company. This is the same case for Germany where we have several offices.
Next week we will open at the Stationsplein the new Office for Mining Asics Technologies on the ground floor of the building, so that it will be easy for visitors to find us. From next week our new telephone number will also be available, so there will be no confusion anymore between CONSALIT and Mining Asics Technologies. (owned companies in The Netherlands and Germany; Dubai to come shortly!)

Why are we producing in Germany?

Because there are the Best of Breed companies that we know for a Long time and do Business with. The majority of our people come from Germany also.

Why was there a call from a number in Dubai towards Mrrr?

Because I and my associate where for the mining Business in Dubai the last few days to investigate our new logistic Center for UAE and APAC. That's why a Dubai number showed up after calling back!

But why using those 2 names?

I have no other choice! My given Name at birth was: MARC
My registered Name(s) were Mathias Johannes Joseph. (Christian Names; Thanks Easy2Mine...you were 1st..)

So my life was fine, until I moved to Germany to live there! That's where only the FIRST registered Name can be used: MATHIAS!!!

So all of a sudden I hád 2 names...making it difficult to book flights, order Domain names, making payments etc.....

After moving back to The Netherlands, I got stuck with These 2 names and drives me crazy sometimes....!!

So I hope you now know why you see 2 persons being 1!!

I think they are legit, but they are way too ambitious.
Cointerra has the most capable team in the world of BTC and are doing all the design themself but fail.
Hashfast don't have a design team themself, but contracted one of the best design teams in the world to do the job for them, they also fail.
MAT has NOTHING.
No really impresive names, who earn their stripes already in this industry.

I don't work and have never work in the semiconductor industry before, but I can fix and modify anything that has a chip inside it.
From the technical specs on their website and the companies involved making their ASICS, I already see a lot of points of failures.
If anyone believe in choosing the wrong companies in the production chain will make a top product, then this is THE COMPANY you need to invest in.
This will be a BIG FAIL.

With the rising of BTC value, it also attracts a lot of clowns who are way to ambitious beside the scammers.
Greed is what made them step into this business.

Personally I don't like to talk so negative about my own countrymen, but all I see is the facts that they are not able to pull it off.
I am going to clean up the house first and then I am going to write a full report why I think it is a failure to me.

I pulled the phonenumber and found that it was used by a German IT company ran by M Coumans (Marc Coumans). They have 'an HQ in The Netherlands'. They were founded 2008 (please look this up, I didn't check whether it was the German GmbH or the Dutch B.V.) and are called CONSALIT ( www.consalit.eu ). My interest in the building is really high now, so I searched and it's a business center where people can hire space. Actually, there's A WHOLE LIST of other companies REGISTERED UNDER THE SAME ADDRESS (8 K): http://www.goedkopekantoorruimte.nl/node/377/bedrijven
Why is this done? This address is a dummy address to register your company. I checked some of the companies and they are legit. Their problem is that these companies are small and often work from their homes, but need a business space to work/meet (sometimes) or mostly work at home but don't want to share their personal address (understandably, or because of legal issues). So this isn't something that's only done for scams. Although... there are some notes on the internet about fishy companies under that address...

So ok, so far CONSALIT B.V. seems to be the same company as MAT. Let's check domains WHOIS under "[email protected]" (found in the WHOIS of MAT.com).

They are all registered at http://www.1und1.de/ ... also ... the IT webpage is build by "WFX builder" (a very simple HTML builder) and MAT.com is made with software provided by 1&1.de (1&1 DIY Website Builder). So there's a good 'connection' on technical level as well (Mathias Coumans has both consalit.biz, consalit-ag.com and MAT.com).

Let's recap. This looks pretty legit in the following way: Marc Coumans is the owner of CONSALIT B.V. and their website and Dutch phone number exist since 2010-ish (at least, that's what web.archive.org shows). We know that this isn't some fake company because they've updated news over the past years ( check this webarchive link, some news dates back to 2008), but more importantly there's good evidence on the website of IBM.
So this whole IT business is legit under the registrants email "[email protected]". When we search this, we also get MAT.com, which links back to "Mathias Coumans"... but... this isn't the "Mark Coumans" from CONSALIT B.V. and there's no mention about the "Mathias" first name on his LinkedIn. So is this a relative?
Let's go further: consalit.biz is registered under the name "Mathias Coumans" AND the Facebook page of MAT reads the following: "Mathias Marc Coumans | CEO & Co-Founder". So is the conclusion that "Mark Coumans" also uses the name "Mathias" in some cases? Does this mean this ties everything up and everything is legit?

Well... I'm not sure because I didn't tell you yet that I've been digging in the sourcecode of www.consalit.eu : ... MJJ Coumans. How on earth can a "J" become "Mathias"?
Only the MAT Facebook page says something about the "Mathias" name in combination with "Mark Coumans".


Let's go-go gadget the other way around......
Assumption: Marc Coumans and CONSALIT 'have been chosen' by MAT.com to be their "Scapegoat" and neither Marc Coumans nor CONSALIT agree or know anything about MAT.com.
How could this be done? The only thing they need is access to, is the [email protected] email address. I do not want to discriminate but I know that older people (yes I call Marc Coumans old) use simple passwords which they can remember more easy. Let's say they have gained access to that email and they made sure that if somebody checked the WHOIS data, everything fits, even the Hosting Provider and the way of setting up their website (with an easy HTML builder). Even the physical addresses match (not too hard, because there's many companies there).
So how likely is this? It would take quite some time to figure all these things out (easy Dutch registrant address from an IT company to which they have access to the owners' email). Or... Could this be a rogue employee?
This is all pretty likely as people will often go very far in their scams.

So what's up with the "Marc Coumans" and "Mathias Coumans" names?
"Mathias Coumans" is used in the consalit.biz domain. This domain has been updated last at 1st of April 2013 and that's quite some time before MAT.com. The chances of "Mathias Coumans" being a scapegoat name - to make things even more vague - instead of a real name (this was my first thought) become smaller...
Add to the fact that "Marc Coumans" could be married to somebody called " XXX Mathias" and that "Mathias Coumans" are two last names combined. This could explain why "Marc Coumans" is also called "Mathias Marc Coumans" without having the proper initials (MJJ Coumans).
On the other hand, why would you place a last name in front of a first name?


So my opinion: I'm pretty confused because it looks legit but stinks everywhere... I mean:
- I find MAT's FAQ's are too short, their English is not of great quality, they have some shitty HTML website (c'mon, the ASIC business is expensive, spend a little bit more money on this)
- why not tell us about CONSALIT B.V.
- and best of all: why would they use a Dutch company instead of a German company when they're German based? The answer is... it's easier, makes things vague (crossing borders) and most important, it costs a few hundred Euro's instead of the 25.000 Euro's investment which a German GmbH needs....... (LINK OVER HERE)


How do we solve this? Well... we need to buy the Chamber of Commerce details from CONSALIT B.V. (Dutch) , CONSALIT GmbH (German) and MAT B.V. (Dutch). This costs around 20 euro's total, but will probably resolve questions as the owners of the companies are listed in the papers. I'd like to find answers without asking people questions. That happens after all the available (OBJECTIVE) information is gathered and analyzed.

Doesn't mean I'll actually deliver.

From my communications with MAT, they have stated that the corroborating press releases from Dream Chip, Global Foundries, etc (which I explicitly cite in my article as a large piece of proof thus far missing) will be released later this week.
The people working for the company are also putting their identities on the line.
