to be honest I have tried the MinerGate mobile (Android) app. well...of course the earnings are really very small but what else can you expect from a mobile. It works though...

I wonder if this is really mining or just a show app to promote their apps for Mac/PC and their cloud mining at the end...

The idea is great. Nearly everybody has a smartphone, probably more than the PC user. Furthermore it is difficult for 'normal' people to mine BTC/ETH etc. You really need much of technology understanding to mine effectively. Mobile mining will appeal to a large target group.

If you want to be an early bird you could mine JSEcoin on your mobile phone. It has some new visions for mining. I have already 20 coins and more to come  Grin. More info can be found on their website or here's the link to the their whitepaper: https://jsecoin.com/whitepaper.pdf . They will start soon an official thread in here too, as one of their development team said the following:

"We haven’t launched a ANN thread there yet because I don’t feel that we are ready to start marketing towards investors. The audience on Bitcointalk tend to be very cynical with good reason and I think we need everything else in place to stand a chance of not just get “shitcoin” “scam” type responses.

Things like the ICO plan are still being finalized and the whitepaper is still being worked on. Once this is all ready and the team feels we are ready to move towards attracting investors we will start marketing efforts which will include a bitcointalk thread."

Would you be interested in a cryptocurrency with its own blockchain that can easily be mined on both android and iOS phones?
No , I will never get interest in such things because if we will make mining through mobile like things then surely we will face big mistakes results , Here I already tried a app in the playstore for the mining of a altcoin but in actual reality I made much hardwork and got only 0.3$ in one week and also my mobile get damaged at that time because I used for the long time continuously on for mining .
Here we can understand well that the mining through the pc is not a better option to make profit Because cost of electricity more than what you will mine , so here we can understand well that what we can make with with the mobile hardware parts performance .

I think it's possible, Humans are pushing forward the limit. Where are we right now in terms of technologoies? Every mobilephone users engaged in crypto world will be very happy. Imagine your phone mining coins every day even though your at a certain something. The point is maybe innthe nearr future it will be possible.

i dont think it will be profitable.it cannot be efficient.how mobile phones can mine while even computers have a hard time doing
That is right, on the other side, the mining will cost some sources of your mobile phone and make your phone slow. I do not think you like that situation.

mining using smart phones in my opinion it will not produce much coin, even mobile phones can be damaged because the phone is not designed by the author in use for mining.

Well knowing that we will use the mobile for mining it would need a few things, will it be profitable, because as asic miners or any other mining their lifetime isnt forever, and gets reduced as the use, soo if the coin will be profitable, allowing to buy a new phone, sure it will be a sucess, if we are talking about make 2 dolars monthly no way.

I dont believe its possible to use mobiles and have a decent income from them, a lot machines are around soo as rigs were built before script miners be live...people will adapt and improve their miners always.

I think mining on the mobile phone will only destroy itself because it will damage the mobile phone and caused by non-qualified specifications such as computers

I do not believe it will happen, because to do the mining must have a computer hardware that is very sophisticated and expensive so for the mobile certainly can not for now and the next few years is the same

Is there any mining thing in android in which that you do not need to use the rigs or something? I think that mining with the use of android is now being used by many people right now. So you can do it. But if only you do not need to use rigs or any of those mining things you need to have then that would be heaven.

It's turtles all the way down!
October 26, 2017, 11:21:47 PM
Yeah, I think that most of the posts in this thread have nailed down the key points that make mobile mining pretty much impossible with current technology.

-RIP battery
-Not enough processing power
-Mining difficulty would skyrocket from easy access to start mining but someone with a desktop setup would blow you out of the water anyways

POS could definitely happen on mobile, but that's not what this discussion is about. Another problem, regardless of everything else, is the security on mobile isn't too good. So now by introducing this mining program it's just a whole cacophony of crap that could get malware on your phone - count me out!
