I want to implement realtime chat (view only for all and wirting only for logged users)
Slack is separate website.
IRC hmm also separate, any thoughts what should i implement ?
Anybody know something free and good to webchating with multiple users ?
Opensource would be best, also must be in ajax (realtime updates).

Hey  this is a time saver for anyone that chooses to not flash a card.

It also saves you money  as you can buy any card with a stock bios and use this.

here is a 8gb rx 480 card new for 200 bucks free shipping to the usa.

http://www.diamondmultimediastore.com/index.php?route=checkout/cart

leave the bios alone set smOS to:

 1100

 1900 or 2000

 1 or    2 or 3

no time wasted for setup
no need to develop a bios.
card price is good 199.99

so while anyone that was making out with flashing bios building bios selling bios

they still can do this.

but the guy with a  pair of six card rigs with 3 or 4 different cards this is a game changer.

for me  I would need a bios for the:

 panda miner  rx 480 4gb ---- 8 cards
 the msi rx 480  8gb         ---- 8 cards
 the msi rx 470  8gb         ---- 2 cards
 the asus rx 480 4gb ---------- 5 cards
 the asus rx 480 8gb ---------- 3 cards

I now need none of the above and simply pay a fee to smOS

best of all if I choose to expand I simply find any good deal on any rx 480 8gb  like the 200 diamond multimedia that I linked to.

I have been able to tweak th panda miner's 6th gpu and get it to work at settings of 1145 2000 1

so now every gpu is stable at setting 1

gpu 6 is weird I will continue to look at it

Just to be completely clear here.

Before others start to fly and think they can undervolt..

0 - 7 are the DPM stages for the core clock.

You don't undervolt, you just set your core differently on a specific dpm stage.

As an example.

Open up polarisbioseditor, you'll see that there are 8 stages for the core clock. 0 -> 7

As you can see here, on the left you have the preset core clock settings and on the right you have the voltage settings.
300Mh being the only one with a preset voltage offset.
The other 7 will be auto calculated by the GPU. (By adding Global VDDC Offset in the rom, this can be manipulated).

What happens here isn't really "Undervolting", the only thing that does happen is that driverwise the core clock of a specific dpm stage is being modified, therfore the voltage remains the same as it was previously on that specific dpm stage.

So you are basically forcing a specific core clock to run on a specific voltage.

It's like this example:

Which is

1. Definitely not stable in most cases as it's not being autocalculated anymore.
2. Not how it "should" be.

It's a way, i'm pretty sure it'll work okish, but i'm also very sure, if you start messing around to much, your gpu's will fail.

That's the difference between forcing voltage or adding a global vddc offset in the rom where the voltage controller starts calculating from a lower voltage offset.

Just to be very clear here, it is "not" possible to really "undervolt". This can only be achieved in the rom itself.

Oh and for the Fans, or better, the haters, i'm not bashing anything here, i'm just writing down facts.

Greetings!

Great explanation man.
As i understand, we can change the offset by polaris with these stages. We don't need to change these on hex editor.

Yep, Eliovp is right.
Its not the real "THE Unvervolting" but its just thing when gpu can use powerstage from for example 900MHz and overclock this stage to 1100MHz.
It works as undervolt, there are positive results but i also would not call this undervolt.
So i made corection, now its called "Powerstage" Cheesy

Anyway it can do little more magic but still the full power is in custom bios.
Here is list what can be done with GPU bios using hex editor:

This can do anyone:
1a) overclock
1b) lowering powerstage in my OS
2a) simple copying timings form 1500 to higher values via PolarisBiosEditor

This can do only pro like Eliovp, wolf0 and few others:
3a) adding voltage offset (if its not present already)
3b) changing offset to lower and lower values (this is more less simple opreation)
2b) applying true custom timings (if you have the timings its simple, hard is to make those Tongue)

just dump bios of card via atiflash in linux , move into win vm or pc , edit and reupload , not very hard to make  Tongue

Okay I buy your explanation  and here are my stock no  bios flash cards set to 1

most people do not have my setup.  but my setup  is ideal for dual mining and using his new power setting.

FUCK ME, i did undervolt that accually works Cheesy
And there was no such tool for undervolting only way was to make offset in custom bios and flash it.
This my idea is accually working loooool Cheesy

yes you did.

It really works well if you have a setup like mine.

Stock bios
four card rigs with 2 cards
no risers
and i5 cpus.

So who would think that  a biostar z170 board with an i5 6500t cpu and an evga p2 750 watt psu and only 2 rx 480 8gb cards is a good setup for mining?

Turns out to be really good for dual mining.. really good.

I will toss some more coin at you on Monday the 20th.

This is why I will pay for this smOS  ------- No bios flash needed. ---------  the stock bios allows strong settings for ETH+DECRED

I ran stable overnight  with stock memory slight down clock of core and 2 undervolt    power dropped from 17 amps to 16 amps

now testing under volt of 1 power dropped from 16 amps to 15 amps.

Update v1080:
- RX OS : fixed syntax in overclocking ( i broke this by fast fixing the thin in night Tongue).
Now writing
core: 1001,1002,1003,1004 will work
mem: 1901,1902 also will work, if you specify less numbers than gpus then last value from mem and last value from core will be used on remaining cards.

again example how this syntax will set cores:
GPU0 1001/1901
GPU1 1002/1902
GPU2 1003/1092
GPU3 1004/1092
GPU4 1004/1092
GPU5 1004/1092

I am a big fan of Eliovp's custom roms, using them for more than a year now.
I use 2 free ones (480lowenergyOK for RX480s and -100mV for Nanos) and 1 paid one (PandaOS) for my small farm.
In my test rigs, I am also running Eliovp's new Nano/Fury roms optimised for ZEC mining.

I am also a big fan of Tytanick's smOS and SRR - wonderful projects and I am very comfortable with product roadmap and how smOS is built from ground up with miners inputs.

As a small-farm miner, I am happy because I have all the tools I need to run the farm well without downtime and wastage, resulting in profitability, efficiency and savings.

Imagine if both of you have some good working arrangement and cooperation - it can further benefit the mining community greatly.

Eliovp - Listen and would not you go nafig from this topic, trade with bios? Also, explain to him about the code ... what's your business?  Embarrassed

citronick - Sad but true - Eliovp  it's huckster traders fighting in three skins ... For each BIOS on bitcoin...

Update v1079:
- when booting R or RX OS you will see more output - this will help in case of problems for example no dhcp
- faster booting in some cases when prompt screen waits 30 seconds for selection (now its 3s)
- disabled sleep mode when screen in RX OS goes to black screen

Good no worries.

And yeah spending time and feeling like
It was wasted would piss me off.

So I spent about an hour fixing my rigs and when you asked for a roll back I got a bit cranky.

I am liking the smOS more every day.

Why wouldn't you :p It's completely free..
a quote from someone else: "Albeit at someone elses mercy".

The funny thing someone just brought up to my attention.

The overclock part for RX cards is almost identical to what EthOS offers, what ethOS offers is custom code written by Sling00 to control amdgpu-pro.
Also, i noticed wolfamdctrl being in that code, also something that has been a part of EthOS, it "could" be that Tytanic bought Wolfamdctrl as well but i doubt it, why invest in something you will offer for free?..
Same goes for Atiflash, another thing that's not something you can find "so easily" on the net..

My point being, if you "use" stuff from other distro's, the least you can do is give credit to those who wrote the code in the first place.
Yeah, i know no one gives a shit, as long as you can use it for free .. Smiley

Huh?
No, i dont steam anything from anyone, I even dont know how ethos worked becasue i never used it and looked in theyr scripts.
Only thing i saw is their dashboard thats it.
All scripts are 100% written by me, tool is bought from wolf and when i ask him if i should mantion that this tool is from him, he said "no need to mantion it".
Anyway i bought it and not copyied it.

Also what code is identical to mine ? meaby they copied sometring from me accually ?

I highly doubt it Wink

But it's ok, no need to keep defending yourself.

I'll say it again: I couldn't care less if you did, the only thing i would appreciate, is if it was, that you would leave some credit.

But it's all good.  Wink

Accually you are wrong. EthOS bought this utility from wolf and i also bought from wolf0 for 0.15 BTC and i rapped up with my scripts....
Anyway you could check md5sum of this tool, its different (anyway in older ethos version).
This is why i took so long to implement while ethos had it few months before me. I was negotiating with him and i also tryied to write own tool from beginning which i am capable of but i just didnt had time for this.
I never steal if thats what you mean....

Atiflash is free to use for everyone - see "tool" in attachments
Here is the link to public atiflash for linux: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97403

Any other thoughts ?

Nope, i'm just surprised that you bought it from wolf, that explains a lot.

I know Atiflash is free to use, i never said that it wasn't Smiley

Just looking at your code and comparing it to ethos's, looked almost identical.

I don't care, but if it was, i would have loved to see some credits for the ones who initally wrote it.

Oh also never said that you're a thief, i just know that in this world/scene a lot is being "borrowed" Wink

Free OS ? - its was free becasue it wasnt finished and accually i think many things are still missing.
It is still free ? Its only becasue i didnt had time to implement "fee" feature but its on top of my list now.
So soon it will be paid about 1$ per rig per month and ofcourse there will be free period for old users and also new users.

All clear ?
