Hello, I'm a pool operator.

I'd like to know how it should work automatic algo/pers detection. When I try mining a equihash 192,7 with ArrowPoW pers, the miner automatically resorts to 144,5 with BgoldPoW if no algo/pers are specified.

Thank you
Hi daPool,
at the moment, if the pool server contains arw then it will automatically detect that you want to mine Arrow.
If you can give us a few more details we can also add your pool to our autodetection 'magic' list. Smiley
Thanks for contacting us!
Cheers

Ok, I'm sorry, I don’t know how to use another.
Hi Nel67,
to install ConEmu you can read their Installation page.

We've just found this video that might be usefull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYSJvRbGs2I
Check it out, the first 3-4 minutes show how to install it. Smiley

Let us know if this helps.

Why in windows 7; 8.1-miner console in black and white format?

Hi Nel67,

If you are not using Windows 10, it is likely that the console output is not only black and white, but also a little messy and unreadable.
We suspect that this is what you are getting.

The reason is colors are only supported with Windows 10. To have an organized output, you can use the --nocolor argument when running miniZ.
This will help clean up the console. The downside is that you still get a black and white output.

If you like to have a more colorful output, you can install another console on Windows.
We tried ConEmu terminal emulator and it worked fine. There are others available, which should also work OK.

For additional information about miniZ check the FAQ and Usage pages.

In case you want to use miniZ GUI, note that there is a separate miniZ GUI for Windows 7. You can find it on Download page.

We hope this answers your question and helps you setting up a nicer output Smiley

Feel free to participate at any time and thanks for trying miniZ!

I ran the miner on 2x1080Ti mining zero on pool.zerocurrency.io, but after 1 minute my first card hashrate drops to 15 and the other card mines with 57 sol/s constantly.
Hi overclockerblg,
we haven't change Zero (192,7) algorithm in the v1.5s release.
From what you describe the issue seems related to your OC values. Could you tweak them a bit and try again?
If the problem persists, could you paste here the start of console output and the log part when mining starts dropping?
Thanks for trying miniZ!
Cheers

Hi everyone,

thanks for staying with us!

miniZ v1.5s is out! miniZ improved its performance for three algorithms!!!

 1. 150,5,3 - BeamHash II
 2. 125,4 - ZelHash
 3. 144,5 - ZHash

You can find miniZ version v1.5s @ Download page.

Changelog:
 * Speed improvement for ZelHash, BeamHash and ZHash. From 0.3% to 3% depending on algo and GPU.
 * Kepler support removed in this version, except for MinexCoin and Aion.
 * Flush console output on every line.

Few notes:
  * When adjusting your GPUs settings do not forget to test it with --oc1/oc2 since it may boost your performance a little. --oc1/oc2 changed for some GPUs and algos in the new version. For updated information read the specific topic on FAQ page.
  * We removed support for Kepler GPUs in this version. You can use older versions. Feel free to contact us if you need support on this.
  * On Download page you can find Cuda 10 and Cuda 8 versions (Linux and Windows). If you have RTX GPUs then you need to use Cuda 10.0 versions.

For additional information check our Usage or FAQ pages.
Let us know how it goes!

Happy mining!

Anyone try a GTX1650 yet?
Hi BigHarryArmsi,
it seems that is not a popular GPU Smiley
We have not tried it either. We notice that the 4GB may limit performance for some algos, particularly on win10 .
If you have access to one let us know if you recommend it.

Let us know if the new version solved your issue with nicehash.
So far, so good, no hangups caused by authorization errors (but actually I don't know if there were such errors these days). If the problem emerges again, I'll let you know. Thanks for the stable release.

CUDA 10 version should be beneficial.
This was the cause, thanks. I somehow missed the CUDA 10 link and started to use the CUDA 8 version instead, probably because it has no clear "CUDA 8" designation neither in the URL nor in the program startup info.

Sorry for the false alarm Smiley
Hi Kringel,
thank you for your messsage.
No problem, your feedback helps improving miniZ.

We made a few modifications to the Download table that may help to distinguish CUDA versions. It is likely that others are also downloading CUDA 8 by mistake Smiley

In the next version we will also add this information to the log.

Thanks again. Let us know if the new version solved your issue with nicehash.
Cheers

The new version shows instantaneous hashrate instead of the average (so both shown values are identical), at least on Beam. Is this intended?
Also Beam seems to become slower (can't say with certainty since there is no visible average hashrate anymore), at least on 1070.
Hi Kringel,
thanks for your feedback.

In the new version you still have both short and long hashrate reports.
If you only run the miner for a couple of minutes it is likely that these values are identical.

Regardig Beam hashrate, it should be the same as previous version.
If you want to compare versions in a short run, it is best to compare the I/s values since these are stable in about 5 min (or less).

Also, if you have a recent nvidia driver, CUDA 10 version should be beneficial.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us! Smiley

You can find the new miniZ version v1.5r here.

* Major performance improvement for 210,9, for all GPUs. Up to 7%, depending on GPU.
* Improved stability. (This was mostly affecting Beam mining)
* miniZ updates the hashrate when not mining. It drops to zero when mining stops.
* Better handling of “worker not autorized” error.

If you are tuning your cards, do not forget to use --oc1 or --oc2 options to match your OC settings!

For additional information check our Usage or FAQ pages.
Let us know how it goes!

Happy mining!
