I do not remember any announcement about 2.0 being postponed or getting quicker, maybe I am wrong and there was a discussion about it earlier, has anyone talked about it officially? I mean at one hand you have more time to work on something like this when you are stuck at home and have nothing better to do, but on the other hand you are not working at a proper office anymore so you might not be really working 100% neither, so I don't know which one applies here.

Do we know if 2.0 going to come a lot faster now because of the virus or is it postponed like many other thing have been?

If it is quicker that would mean people would get to play 2.0 a lot since they are stuck at home as well. Many casinos actually saw an increase in wagering during this period so I am sure 2.0 would be great marketing to get some of that.

When was 2.0 originally supposed to be launched?

^^ I doubt a single person hacking attempt is really all that profitable for the hackers which is why I doubt they would really work too hard on something like that. I am not saying its impossible, if they figure out one guy has enough money to make it worth I would agree that hacking just one account is a lot easier to do than hacking the whole casino, however hacking the whole casino is difficult because it also gives you access to whole hot wallet of that casino compared to just one persons money on their account, no one person has enough money to actually worth more than the hot wallet (I suppose). Could what you said happen? Sure there is the possibility, is it really plausible? I would say not so much, the whole casino is still a bigger target for the hackers if you ask me.

To be perfectly honest I do not have enough money to consider myself hackable, but even I do not really just leave all of my bitcoins out in the open. The best way to protect them I think is actually having a hardware wallet something like a trezor or a ledger nano.

I think ledger nano even added like 30+ currencies as well and all of them are high ranked in the market cap value as well so they are really all you need, if you want to invest or trade in a smaller one then you can do that on an exchange and that is fine, binance is huge enough to pay 400 million dollars to buy a company, so I assume they would have enough profits on cold storages to cover any hacking to hot wallet as well, which means smaller coins are fine with binance but the bigger you get, hardware is definitely the best solution

The main issue with keeping all your crypto on a casino or exchange is not the casino being hacked and losing all their BTC, it's your account being hacked and withdrawn. Cold storage is very easy to do these days and almost all bitcoin services have most of their customer funds in cold storage. So you don't have to worry about them being hacked that way.

The bigger issue is someone reusing the same password or not using 2FA, or someone getting their email hacked which exposes their accounts which don't have 2FA. Or you could get some malware and get it stolen that way off your computer or some clipboard hack could install without your consent and you will send funds to the wrong address.

The only time I can remember when some fairly old dice which originally had good trust is when the admin went to prison and there is nobody to refill the cold storage, so the funds are just trapped in the cold wallet until the admin is released, that site is called Safedice.

Great article. Looks good if you'll keep making this kind of article Sara to remind the users for things that are important keep like protecting ourselves from virtual crypto thieves, scammers, and hackers. It's indicated of not keeping for long with an exchange but this goes against to the traders that won't read the descriptions. If someone loves to trade, he'd be sticking on that exchange for experiencing a great service but the rest of his funds should be kept on a safer wallet as you have told.

I guess being a noble company and acting honorable is one way to go in business, usually doesn't last too long and you end up either becoming the villain in short period of time or you do not make as much money as you possibly can which is why many companies who start out in a simple garage or something turns into let's get Chinese little kids build our phones for few cents and sell them for hundreds of dollars.

I am not saying you "should" be like that, that is a greatly exaggerated example (which is going on right now in reality) but when you do not take advantage of corona and self isolation and not publish a half finished product to make more profits, that might be "too good" either. Don't get me wrong, as a gambler for me you are doing something marvelous, kudos to you for being so honorable in your endeavor, however not sure if this decision that is amazing for me and all other gamblers is also great for the company.
That is literally why beta was mentioned, you do not have to rush to release a full version, but you could have a beta testing separate site where you give people play money and they gamble with it and give you the results. You can make it free at this time because there are plenty of people who are staying at home who wouldn't mind helping out, however in the end you will get some people who are amazing beta testers if you pay those people as well.

No matter what they end up doing I will love them because so far they have been down to earth type of website, but beta is always suggested irregardless of corona or not, every website that is going on a full overhaul should do it after a beta test period, without that you will eventually face some problems that you didn't realized.

Its not good rushing and coming out with a half finished product, if you do this and encounter issues its bad for the brand in the near future and it can hurt it. Look at what happened with Boeing with their 737MAX airplanes, they had issues and it hurt their brand very badly. Hence why its better to wait and come out with a finished product that works rather than just take a gamble and run into issues.

I don't think they are using corona to their advantage, honestly even though people are online more due to boredom, many people won't be surfing gambling website. Most likely they will be on Facebook, reading news or watching netflix. Only the people involved in crypto would be on gambling sites and they already know about Mintdice. For crypto gambling to be more popular and mainstream, BTC price needs to hit a ATH and then people who are in cash of stocks will move to crypto and it should introduce more gamblers.

Even though more people spend time online it doesn't necessarily mean they are going to buy or gamble more. I am sure people might be bored and spend tons of time on eBay or Amazon just browsing however with the uncertaintly of the future many probably don't want to pull the trigger and buy something they don't need. Gambling is probably no different. If this was a different situation which didn't affect job security or a pending recession then most likely people would gamble more however this is a difficult time for many.

I think overall if Bitcoin outperforms most of the stock indicies and follows the path of gold, then we might get new adoption to cryptos and have more retail people buying cryptos. With every new person joining it should also result in more people gambling. However right now bitcoin seems to correlate with stock indicies and doesn't look good for the upcoming few weeks. Wonder how the halving will perform. However many people will just gamble with pennies or just on demo for fun at the moment.

To an extent, this is true. There's so many features coming up with the new platform we're biding our time Smiley There will be a lot of good things to look forward to soon enough.
The MintDice should launch new features ASAP (of course after all testing procedures show good results and all bugs found and fixed)to take advantage of the huge numbers of isolated people in lockdown areas. They surely spend more time than usual for online things, in particular gambling. Building up traffic, and attract new users in tough period (if successfully) will help the site become bigger when the pandemic goes away.

I cant understand how a gambling site can take an advantage of the isolated people because of the corona virus. Although people will have more time to spend for online thing but it does not mean that they will be interested to do online gambling. Those isolated people will be focusing on finding news, updates about the latest situation as well as focusing on keep themselves safe in many aspects especially for finding daily needs.

Our goal isn't to take advantage of people right now, it is simply to produce a very high quality product that won't be rushed and ideally will be free of bugs. It's under constant development by many and hopefully the product will be well received here on BitcoinTalk. I'll try to post some more updates in the coming weeks as I can release some more visuals.

I would be patient my friend. Rush the product and it will get all kinds of bugs you did not see during testing. Trust me, that will be worse than launching later with a solid bug-free product. Maybe meanwhile, make activities and promos, but not more than that for an actual product. Angry fans are worse than impatient ones;)
Beta testing is literally for that reason and that reason only. When you have tens of computers testing the new product you may end up with too many similar products, maybe you never get any windows 7 in them, all of them are apple or windows 10, or maybe you get purely new computers and nothing too old, you may never know how it is in work computers and many other things.

So, when you open it to beta and allow lets say a thousand people to test it out with play money, you get to see million other ways the website could be reached and that is how you get to find out about some bugs and glitches.

Doesn't mean it will always work, but mainly it is almost always a more guaranteed way to learn about your bugs and fix them if you can. Which is why beta testing right now could be better than both not releasing fully but also not allowing us to even check it.

Well, you are both right and wrong, depending on the people. There are some people who are like the people you think, they are isolated but they are looking at news, they are following whats going on, they are reading a book, find other ways to entertain themselves, or maybe like you said they don't have money, they are simply too poor to gamble right now, have more things to pay now and less money so they do not think about gambling.

However, there are also gamblers, gamblers who have money, gamblers who like to spend time here, gamblers whose entertainment is mainly gambling. Those people will gamble more, that is the topic here, people who are not mainly a gambler but just gambles for fun may not be around but the real gamblers would increase their amount for sure.

Thats more or less 1 hour a day. The rest of the day (~14h including time saved on not going to work) is free. I know few people that are in home quarantine and most of them are so bored that they are starting to freaking out (kick out of decades of 8-16 work time daily routine does the job).

Also Stress Changes How People Make Decisions - push you to high risk choises -> makes people go all in.

Lot's of the isolated or quarantining that is going on is also hurting pockets. Some countries people are not able to go out and work to earn money to pay bills, let alone gamble.

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing, it is a double edged sword what they have right now. On one hand, they have the possibility to actually make a big relaunch and show everyone v2.0 and with that type of marketing power they could promote it everywhere and get INSANE number of people since everyone is isolated these days and there are more people gambling online than ever before.

On the other hand, if they do it too soon they might actually get humiliated by some bug in the system that makes things even worse so there would be more people who see how they failed as well. If they actually finished the product they would have released it already, which means it is not done yet, and even though today would be the best time to release it, if it is not ready, what could they do? Nothing really. Maybe work overtime to get it sooner but that is about it.
