I think UFC will never agree to let their fighters fight in other promotion or against a non UFC fighter. I think they will always look on other promotions "from the top" and act like their promotion is to unique to fight against someone else. From business point of view, that might even work out well, as it will increase the exclusiveness of UFC.

Some news:

Jake Paul has signed with the Professional Fighters League to compete in MMA. Paul is targeting a clash with Nate Diaz in boxing, and then facing off under MMA rules six months later.

Finally that kid is going to get his ass kicked by a MMA fighter that fights under MMA rules Cheesy But lets give him respect for having balls. That is another hit on Dana White, who told that Jake is afraid to do MMA.

Dillon Danis drops out of KSI fight next week, KSI manager claims Danis "underprepared’ and ‘struggling with weight". Lol, what a crap career Danis has, scared of a YouTuber. I will remind who he is - a guy who coached McGregor bjj, a guy who was involved in Khabib jumping out of the octagon, a guy who claimed to be a cool bjj black belt, and a guy who was chocked by club guard lol Cheesy

LFA will start their first event in this year at January 6, it's LFA 149 where the main event is flyweight bout between Felipe Bunes vs Yuma Horiuchi, the co main event is heavyweight bout between Ben Tynan vs Henrique Silva. I think this event is more focus for Brazilian MMA fans, let's see if both Bunes and Silva can able make Brazilian fans are happy with their performance.

LFA 149 Quick Card
Felipe Bunes  vs.  Yuma Horiuchi 125 lbs
Ben Tynan  vs.  Henrique Silva 265 lbs
Marcus McGhee  vs.  Luciano Ramos 135 lbs
An Ho  vs.  E. De Los Santos 125 lbs
Eric McConico  vs.  Billy Elekana 185 lbs
Eric Fimbres  vs.  Tony Charles 185 lbs
Cedric Katambwa  vs.  Adam Garcia 155 lbs
Paul Marghitas  vs.  Bradley Emmett 145 lbs
Grace DiFrancesco  vs.  Kayla Reagan 115 lbs
Ezra Elliott  vs.  Nicholas Gjelaj 135 lbs

Interesting the Flyweight will surely be in the spotlight right now and it is Brazil VS Japan that is going to fight my take about the main event is I guess Felipe Bunes has the edge when it comes to reach advantage he got the height aswell but not that much, both can finish the fight via KO/TKO or a submission but for me Felipe Bunes is more technical when it comes to his striking and when comes the opportunity he can surely grabs it, my take I would go with Felipe Bunes,

Bellator fighters are no joke and we saw that in this event with Rizin with full dominance and 5:0 result.
Picture would be much different with UFC fighters but I am sure Bellator would win fights again in some categories.
I like what happened and I want to see more tournaments like this in fiture.

For me, the level of competitiveness against UFC versus Bellator is very different from the level of how fighter work with UFC the fighter in Bellator
we can say that the Old fighters in the UFC are now coming to Bellator to snatch themselves some belts not because they can but because they still can, and some will surely become dominant in that kind of division, we can see many old fighters changing to Bellator because the level of competition was not for them anymore and it is already has shifted,

So I think if there would be a UFC VS Bellator fight card collaboration for me I think UFC will have many fighters winning than Bellator, I don't want to say there will be dominance on the UFC side but there will be a lot that may win on the UFC,

I don't see any familiar names and there are a lot of newbies and rookies fighting in this card.
Main event could be interesting to watch because it is for Vacant Flyweight Championship, but I don't expect anything spectacular from rest of the fights.

Cage Warriors 148 is coming next in event Europe vs United States.
I don't often follow fights from this competition but this looks like something interesting, mostly main and co-main event.
Jesse Taylor was a part of The Ultimate Fighter few years ago but he never signed a contract with UFC.
Modestas Bukauskas is ex UFC fighter, Wilson Reis is also ex UFC fighter, and Chuck Campbell is ex Bellator fighter.
Maybe there are others but I don't recognize them.

I totally missed Cage Warriors 148 because of so much to do with the year-end party, I totally forget about it, and looking at the result of the fight it was surely pure entertainment to people that wants pure Brutality because most of the fights were finished with KO/TKO but surely because the event was the end-year many have sure missed it and I am 1 of those, but luckily there are replays online but trying to wait for good quality or non-click bait video because most on youtube was just click-baiting,

Former UFC fighter, Joel Romero will face Bellators light hewvyweight champion Vadim Nemkov on February 4, 2023. Romero has a chanse to become a champion at the age of 45. If he wins, he will be oldest MMA champion. Previously, Randy Couture became UFC champ at the age of 44. (Most aged - I am speaking only about biggest and most popular mma promotions. Dont know much about smaller promotions, maybe they have much older champs)

Too bad for Yoel Romero because his fight with Vadim Nemkov was scraped and canceled due to an undisclosed reason Nemkov Romero badly needed this fight to become champion and his not getting any younger as well so definitely he must take on the champion in that division now, but he just got to wait for his right opportunity,

It was a total domanance from Bellator that evening. Every single fight was won by Bellator fighters. In general I like that kind of competition, where best fighters from one promotion compete against another. This closes lots of disputes “who is the best” and fighters did not have go leave promotion. Wish UFC would allow such things. To bad their contract are too exclusive. I think only once UFC allowed to fight outside the UFC. It was Chuck Liddell vs Rampage in pride ( P.S Chuck lost).

It was total domination for Bellator and Kyoji Horiguchi is the only one that is the former bantamweight champion in both organizations I really don't know where he stands if he is in Bellator or Rizin, his last fight with Bellator was Bellator 279 that was April 23, 2022, and his recent fight was on Rizin 38 that was on September 25, 2022, but maybe he is in the Bellator side because his opponent Hiromasa Ougikubo was purely Rizin, or he can surely be both, but still, it was total domination for Bellator, and I wish there will be a UFC X Bellator collaboration in the future, or even LFA,

Here are the results for OKTAGON 38: Macek vs. Lopez event

Filip Macek VS Gustavo Lopez ROUND 1 SUBMISSION - LOST

I didn't expect this to happen the truth is I haven't watched the fight yet and am struggling to look for the replay but still, it was really unexpected for the experience Macek to be caught by a Guillotine choke by Gustavo Lopez, and looking at the results for me it was unexpected but surely Gustavo Lopez is one sick dude, that is,

Matúš Juráček VS Alex Lohore ROUND 3 KO/TKO - WIN

Well the power from that is surely well-known to Alex Lohoré I haven't seen the fight yet because there are no streaming platforms that I can watch it and I will surely tell the full detail of what happened to the fight but in the meantime, this is what happens with the fight I win the bet and Alex Lohoré win the match

Rafael Xavier VS Lee Chadwick CANCELLED - Chadwick medical issues

Sad to say a canceled fight because Lee Chadwick had some medical condition that didn't set to public will surely get back to this later if I could find some good report,

I don't know who these guys are but I think we could be +EV to parlay most of these favorites together into two legs each.
I don't know most of this fighters from Japan, but when they clash with Bellator fighters it's going to be much more interesting.
Good news for MMA betting is that I found one more website Betnomi that is offering Cage Warriors, Rizin and Bellator vs Rizin events!
Anyone can take advantage and look for better odds on any of this two websites.
It's easy to find this events in Betnomi Sport - World, and select what you want: https://betnomi.com/sports

So it looks like they like their MMA around after lunch in Japan.  Lol.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/94453-rizin-40

So it looks like the real schedule is set.  Rizin 40 starts at 12:00am ET, so that's 1:00pm in Japan.  And since it's a 9 bout event, that's gonna last around three hours making Bellator vs Rizin event start around 4:00pm in Japan.

And good news, there's a betting market for all 9 bouts.  Smiley

but on stake.com it has a date of the 30th
Stake made a miStake, and it rhymes very nice  Grin
Maybe they are accepting bets until this time and later they are taking a break for holiday times.
I always get confused with all different time zones and you need to check several times to be sure when some event start exactly.
There was one cool website for MMA with countdown timers, but they shut it down sadly.

^  At Tapology the schedule says it's gonna be on Dec 31 at 8:00pm ET, the usual schedule for many UFC PPV events.  But there's gonna be a tape delay with the US broadcast.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/94478-bellator-mma-vs-rizin

In some sites it says Rizin 40 starts at Dec 31 at 4:00am ET then it's immediately followed by Bellator vs Rizin event.  It's prolly going to be a couple of hours after.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/94453-rizin-40

So yeah...  Since the event is held in Japan, it makes sense.  Rizin 40 gonna start late in the afternoon in Japan around 5:00pm and Bellator vs Rizin around 7:00pm - 8:00pm of Dec 31.

what caught my attention was the day of the fights, honestly they're going to fight on the 30th, don't these guys like to celebrate with their families?
This event is in going to happen on December 31 not on 30, and you can see that on their official poster.
English Premier League, Championship and other leagues are playing matches every year on December 26, 27, 30, 31, January 2, 3, 4, 5, so it's nothing strange for sport events around New Year.

but on stake.com it has a date of the 30th

but on stake.com it has a date of the 30th, as for the premier league games it really is strange that they play until the 31st, but since they are soccer games I don't see much problem in playing on those dates because the players don't run much risk of end up in the hospital, while these fighters, when they fight, are more likely to end up in the hospital and the family is worried about them, that's why I said that I don't see why they keep organizing fights on days when people are having parties, but how people have their own tastes I start to think that there are many people who go to watch fights even on December 31st

something even strange because here in my country when the 23rd of december arrives people are on vacation so everyone or almost everyone travels to other cities, other people prefer to stay far away from the city and then the lottery games, sports and fights everyone stops because there won't be people to assist, even to handle documents, the person is in a huge queue because there aren't many employees to attend to people

If the date was December 31 then the event is going to be on 31, but having said about some events I think I will post my pick on OKTAGON 38 Surely I didn't see any sportsbooks on stake for this fight so I will just make my picks and prediction of what I think, but you can put your bet with cryptocurrency on Bovada

Filip Macek VS Gustavo Lopez
OKMMA Interim Bantamweight Championship

It is weird that the main event doesn't have any odds yet even in Bovada, but for this fight, both are good at finishing off their opponent with grappling, and for me the more creative they got and the more technical they go with the fight I think will win this, for me, I think that Filip Macek has more technicality, experience, and much younger than Gustavo Lopez, so I will be going with Filip Macek,

Matúš Juráček VS Alex Lohore

The Bovada odds for this fight are +145 for Juracek and -190 for Lohore, for this fight I think Alex Lohore has more experience than Juracek but Matus Juracek the kid got heart, but for this fight I think I will be getting Alex Lohore, to win against Matus Juracek,

Rafael Xavier VS Lee Chadwick

The Bovada odds for this fight are -175 for Xavier and +135 for Chadwick, for this fight even though Lee Chadwick had many wins over submission and he got more experience than Rafael Xavier, there is a unique thing that I have seen on Xavier, I think he got good takedown defense that if Chadwick exposed can be a big factor for Lee Chadwick but I think Rafael Xavier can surely get a win here so my pick is Rafael Xavier,

I wonder how making a fight on the 31st would be fair to the fighters? they are also people who have family and who have the right to be with their families to spend the 31st together, they shouldn't be greedy to let the family spend the 31st without them just because they want to fight and earn money, when they stay sick people will be in bed and will need the family to take care of them, their money doesn't have the legs and brains to take care of them

also people on the 31st travel and others are just focused on spending the day resting and doing activities with their family and friends, but most of the time they are not activities of watching or betting on fights, I think that even the casinos or the promoters of fights would be at a loss because few people would watch the fight on the 31st, it would not be advantageous for any fight promoter to put a fight on the 31st

It is all about money. I find it ok to work on December 31. That is persons work, his choice. Police, medical guys, taxi drivers and etc do work on December 31 after all. A fighter could add a clause in his contract, that he will take his family with him. But like I've said, it was Pride FC, asian promotion. They dont celebrate New Years eve, they have their own New Year in January.

If I was offered to work on December 31, now, I think would accept such offer with some extra payment. But, if some of my relatives gets sick, I will think about quit that days job. Yet again, depends on a situation. High temperature and being in hospital are two different things,

I understand that from the fighter's side it's all about money and he wouldn't think too much, he would accept it immediately, but from the fight promoter's side who also thinks about the money, he needs to think logically, for example the fight promoter needs to think about the following : what else do people do on the 31st? most people will be on vacation and as a consequence they will be enjoying themselves in some country, in some other city with family and friends or else those who stay at home will be enjoying themselves with family and friends and will not be on TV or in casinos doing bets

With that in mind, the fight promoter needs to think about whether it's really worth organizing a fight that won't have many views and people to buy tickets and watch the fights and consequently won't be able to raise much money, how will the fighter be paid? How will you pay the cost of operations? and what profit will they have? Wouldn't it be better to organize the fight when people will already be free from this festive period? this is what i think the fight promoter would think. honestly I don't see any advantage in organizing fights on December 31st

Good news...  Stake has a betting market for all 5 match ups in the Bellator vs Rizin cross over event.

https://stake.com/sports/mma/bellator/bellator-mma-vs-rizin

At first glance I got all the Bellator fighters winning except one, Kyoji Horiguchi.  Dunno..  Just a hunch.  I saw him fight against Patchy Mix and lost in the bantam weight grand prix in one of the Bellator events.  It was prolly because of the size difference but still, Patchy Mix isn't really that good and it's a match up that Horiguchi should be winning.  He could be in a slightly early decline at 32.

Anyway yeah, excited to to do a little tape study now and make a parlay out of these 5 matches.

what caught my attention was the day of the fights, honestly they're going to fight on the 30th, don't these guys like to celebrate with their families? if one of them gets KO and ends up in the hospital, then he will spend the 31st in the hospital bed and the family crying because of his injuries, I know it's a job and you need to earn money, but there are times when you need to have common sense, finally as a bettor I will make some bets but I will not watch any fight

I am happy to hear about this!
Maybe Sportsbet will follow and add same event for betting, they usually add MMA fights later than competition.
Very low odds on Patricio Pitbull and Kyoji Horiguchi, and I can't find AJ McKee vs Roberto de Souza anywhere on their page, and this is most exciting fight.
On odds checker I see that AJ McKee is favorite but anything can happen in this fight.
