What time is the Brandon Vera vs Bhullar fight Saturday? You'd think that MMA organizations or boxing for that matter would put them on the promo posters.

As for the fight I'm going for a decision win by Brandon Vera. I don't see either of these guys getting the knock out, and I think their wrestling will largely prevent any submissions. Although, I do think that Brandon has the upper hand in the wrestling department, and being younger might actually give him the advantage the longer this fight goes on.

Brandon Vera is taking this seriously and he is preparing for this fight in Sanford MMA against Indian from Canada Arjan Bhullar and he is finally going to after long break and last fight in 2019.
Both of the fighters are very good in wrestling but Vera also has great 69% KO/TKO record, but Bhullar is eight years younger and hungry to beat him.
Check out short video preview for this event, and don't forget that Vera is also involved in Class-Action Lawsuit against the UFC.

I forgot about the lawsuit. Who is still involved in that lawsuit? Mark Hunt? Or is that a different one? I kinda dropped off that for a while and thought it was settled out of court.

43 years old ex UFC fighter Brandon Vera is fighting with Arjan Bhullar in One Championship main event in May 15 and I couldn't found any website for betting on this fight but Bhullar looks like favorite and has only one defeat so far.
Interesting thing is that Dan Hardy started to work with One, and may start to fight again after he was released from UFC.
Hardy last fight in UFC was back in 2012 and he was working as UFC commentator but he is now free agent, and he may see him fight again.

i like dan's analysis when it comes to being a commentator, he doesn't just emphasize the skills of the fighter but also the positions they do in the cage.

agree its surprising to see they still fight with the age they have. i favour vera in this match. i want the fight to end with KO or TKO, not the boring one. Bhullar doesn't deliver KO or TKO fights, there is a chance that this will be boring unless Vera initiates.

^ It’s this Saturday.  No way they’re fighting from the date before and show the replay at a later date.  I wonder what the odds are on Vera vs Bhullar.  If they line this at around 1.65 or more for Bhullar I’ll be all over it.  It’s ridiculous how Vera is still fighting at 43.  And he only fights once a year since he went to ONE FC.

Edit:  Age doesn’t matter much at HW tho and Bhullar had a somewhat long lay off.  He last fought at 2019, October.  Hmmm...

Yeah, that confused me a bit, that must be some error on wiki or some language mishap, maybe it was planned for that date but got rescheduled.

Age becomes less and less a factor when you go up in weight classes. I think the average for HW and LHW was 34-35, and for the lighter classes, it tends to be around 30.

The legendary champion in the final fight against Fedor Emelienenko will be interesting not only to fans of martial arts but also to those who find inspiration in the stories of great people and embrace the secrets of their success. Many large foreign publications have repeatedly recognized emelienko as the best fighter in the world and that’s not surprising because federer was undefeated for almost ten years an unprecedented event in the history of fighting without rules where he won by a majority decision against brazilian fabio maldonado.

You must be new to this sport. There are more rules in MMA than in boxing, karate, wrestling and etc. While all boxing rules can be written in a tweet, MMA rules takes a place of a whole brochure.

Watched it several times, but havent found that moment where Ferreira tapped. Maybe someone could point on that moment.
In the post fight show Fabricio Werdum explained clearly on what happened during the fight where he felt the tap when he was on a chokehold  and the video clearly shows that Renan Ferreira tapped and i am sure that he would have slept if he did not loosen up the grip as Fabricio Werdum is known for his submission skills and one of the best in the ground as he submitted multiple legends in the sport including Fedor Emelianenko in his prime and Cain Velasquez.

Here is the video of the post fight show where you can clearly see the tap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ5ZdpNF-2k

I see. Imho, it was more like a fake tap. Usually when fighters tap they do it multiple times, but that look more like a slap. It was Werdums mistake to count it as taping and release Ferreira. Wikipedia has a correct info, this fight is counted as "No contest Originally a TKO (punches) win for Ferreira; later ruled a no contest after it was determined Ferreira tapped out to a triangle choke applied by Werdum."

he submitted multiple legends in the sport including Fedor Emelianenko in his prime

This wasnt Fedors prime. Fedors prime times was during Pride and Rings. He was undefeated for 10 years. The time at Affliction was when Fedor has started to loose his magic. It was clearly seen in his fight against Andrei Arlovski in 2009. Futher it was a tough yet still a victory over Brett Rogers. Fedors career can be divided before and after Pride. Everything after Pride is a retirement of a Last Emperor.

Here is an upcoming ONE Championship event...well, I say upcoming because I'm kinda not really sure what they mean by the date April 28, 2021 but the air date May 15, 2021, but anyway, here is the lineup.

In the video it looks like he tapped twice but the referee did not see that tap and if Fabricio Werdum let that hold go then Renan Ferreira should have played fair and accept the defeat instead he knocked Werdum after getting that opportunity and so is the reason the fighters should not let go of the opponents until the referee waves off the fight.

Fabricio Werdum defeated a prime Fedor Emelianenko but when he defeated Cain Velasquez i doubt whether he was in his prime as he was already struggling with injuries, either way it was high profile opponents without a doubt and if he could have defeated Stipe Miocic he could have been considered the greatest Heavyweight of all time but history was not fair as Stipe Miocic knocked him out instead.

The ''invisible tap'' is actually not that uncommon in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, a bit less in grappling tournaments and in MMA, but it does happen and is a tactic used most of the time intentionally. We in BJJ are trained to be aware of what is happening to such an extent that, when in sparing, we let go of holds even when there is a light pat, let alone a multiple-time tap. That works well in training. However, you can't turn that off just like that in fights and then you are susceptible to becoming a victim to a fighter that wants to use that tactic to his advantage. Reminds me of some other tactics fighters use to cheat in BJJ tournaments, for instance rubbing soap on their collar so it becomes slippery when drenched in sweat, or putting themselves intentionally in positions that lead to the disqualification of their opponents.

Bellator 258 was great to watch and one interesting fighter who won was Conor McGregor training partner Peter Queally who defeated Patricky Pitbull Freire.
His elbow did great damage and cut the head on Freire so the doctors had to stop the fight and Queally won it with TKO in second round.

Sergio Pettis did a great job against Archuleta and he is now new Champion of bantamweight division!
Oh and don't forget to see what happened with Derek Anderson's nose  Grin

I always thought Sergio was just shie of a title in the UFC, but never managed to get it. A shame TBH.

Here is a recap https://www.cbssports.com/mma/news/bellator-258-results-highlights-anthony-rumble-johnson-rallies-from-knockdown-to-finish-jose-augusto/

And here are the complete results

The PFL had its controversy as Renan Ferreira tapped out to Fabricio Werdum and when he released the grip he knocked Fabricio Werdum out and now he is reviewing the result as he filed a complaint to the athletic commission to review the fight. The tap was real and it was evident in the replay and i think he will get the result overturned.

I missed the fight completely and it looks like the fights were really great, i would not have predicted Sergio Pettis winning the title though as he never achieved that till now in his career and i have to watch the entire fight before commenting about the fight. I had no idea about Jose Augusto and he was a short notice replacement fighter and yet he was able to knock down Anthony Johnson and it showed ring rust is real as he is coming back after 4 years and he was able to showcase his knockout power once again.

Wait a second, when did Rumble Johnson lose to Ryan Bader? He was inactive since he lost to DC in 2017. I am actually surprised that Rumble can get down to LHW as he ballooned up due to weightlifting.

Rumble Johnson was fighting against Ryan Bader in Submission Underground 19 competition and that was only grappling happened in year 2020.
His last fight in UFC was in2017 but after that he had several grappling competition fights.

Oh, ok, right, but yeah, wouldn't count that as a loss per se as it was a different sport, but yeah, I get what you are saying. When MMA guys do grappling like that I always see it as an exebition match.
