Aside from the workload, is there any special reason you are selling this ? Its kinda a waste because either why you as the owner and investor there is making money while its still running

I don't think it's fair for app developers if I just leave it running idle if I am able to find a new owner who had more time for it. Also, it's a huge liability to just leave unattended (e.g. Just today, I had to do a security update for libpng buffer overflow, which could potentially haven exploited by a hacker with the thumbnail uploading).

How do you even find out about all the security updates that need to be done? This is what's personally kept me from getting involved in running an important crypto site -- I don't have the knowledge of how to keep things secured all the time.

I've decided to put MoneyPot.com up for auction, full details are here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/auction-of-moneypotcom-the-bitcoin-gambling-wallet-1249919

Note to players/casinos: Any change of ownership, or event that would have any impact or risks will be clearly announced significantly in advance.

Users balances, logs, ip addresses, deposit and withdrawal history will **NOT** be included in this sale

I'm wondering the same thing -- what's the motivation behind it? With how profitable it is, it seems like you could just hire someone to take some of the load off.

A bit of an update:

So you'll see we've taken ~43k BTC in wager, given app developers ~216 BTC in commissions and investors almost ~200 BTC!

Yeah , according to stats t is true , I am happy that you guys are growing day by day , Moneypot has a potential and hope to see more apps featuring upon it coming out in near future .
Good Luck !!

But it will be auctioned. I dont think they still have the same management again, things must be different after auction. I think some investor will withdraw their money because they wont risk their valuable money with a new management

It's a shame that you're doing this. Hopefully, the next owner will bring forth a variety of new and innovative ideas.

Good luck to you and your affairs in the future!

I like the chart -- it looks like the trend has been very quick growth! Hopefully this continues, Smiley.

Hi all and especially the moneypot investors

in about 2 hours will start our 2nd Texas Hold'em All-In Contest.

we are looking for one moneypot investor who is willing to participate at our 24 hour contest for free!

we will pay the 5000 bits fee and the 5000 bits starting bank roll

but in case you win one of the 3 prizes you will need to give the prize to a charity of your choice

let's see if we find one moneypot investor who will support our app and a charity

the link for the contest

If you cannot even figure out how to run untitled-dice (https://github.com/untitled-dice/untitled-dice.github.io), then maybe it's best to not run a casino. There are some serious responsibilities to run a safe casino (even though seeds/money are on MP) so I don't think it's for everyone.

I think he meant "too bad", and "don't".

MoneyPot is basically just an API. They don't let you use anything other than scripts for gambling - but most (if not all) of the moneypot casinos don't explicitly support scripted gambling. You know how bustabit lets you write your own script? Maybe he's looking for something like that.

What do the majority of moneypot sites use for a language?

If I may interrupt:

What programming knowledge is nececcasry to create a game for the site? What paradigm is most optimal for any game? Does/can the API communicate with a broad range of languages?

As long as it can make http/json requests, any programming language is fine. If it's browser-based, you're definitely best off using javascript or something that compiles to it =)
