I personally don't think that altcoins are going to zero. Bitcoin just can't implement all the alts features for a lot of reasons.

There are a lot of smart people seeing opportunities to make a quick buck unfortunately so the market is being flooded with shitcoins and it takes quite some research to actually filter out the good projects. That's too bad because I think cryptocurrency has a lot of potential but these projects make crypto look bad.
We cannot judge every coin about that. Every coin has different team that will lead the different chance to grow. We all know that there is a great technology and system behind a coin. Therefore, we must know which is good and which is best for coins to grow and develop. Here, learning which is best behind the technology and team is worthy to invest.
I don't think altcoin has no value. If it's really like you said, then why are there still a lot of teams going to fund research, spending so much energy and time writing code? Investors are not fools, and the team is not doing nothing. Everyone does this because they believe it is valuable.
This is just the cause of current market of crypto currency.and yes some coins are there who are either not listed or not worth anything.
There are alts worth less than zero) But it doesnt mean they are nothing, total issued number is important thing that might make the price like that. For example i have issued 100000000000000 coins and my hard cap 100000, its fixed so the real price will be 0.0000000000....

even though we heard the worth zero version from etherum founders nt exactly there are alt coins which changing the blockchain and technology in many industry
not all altcoins are worth zero because there was several altcoin can considers as good investment tools and indeed shit coins can came and go but only the coins with huge of communities and high volume support can survive until now even though there was plenty of coins were announce for everyday but currently i think people are smarters because some of them can able to pick which coin will survive

Yes you are right if you see more then 80% of ico are fail when they trade in exchange market there are many reasons dev planning is not good there roadmap is no accurate or they not follows time line,they are late for laughing their plateform,they distribute airdrop more then requirements so these are point which dump coins,if dev team follows these things with a plan then im sure 90% of ico should trade on atleast of there ico rate .
Small market cap: You should be among the earliest investors to make the maximum profit from the alt coin. I cannot give tips on how to pick such a coin but just avoid the coins which are already in limelight.

A lot of the altcoins in the market now will end up dying out in a couple of years because they have no good product to offer

Many alt coins are down, because everyone's been figuring out that they're shit coins that have no real idea behind them and no one on the team who is serious about the coin. Hopefully we will start seeing some new alt coins that have a solid backing and aren't just trying to scam people.

Too many coins and current beliefs on unlike previous year. This may result in some projects not actually getting support. Maybe they are more interested in making new projects than developing projects that do not reach the target.
