I think one of the not-so-common mistakes of a newbie is to buy an account in here for the sole purpose of signature campaign. Some people are referred to this forum because of the signature campaign. They thought it would be easy so they bought a high member account upfront without knowing the rules and regulation of the forum. It's very likely that he would get banned before he gets his ROI.
This Most Common Mistake of a newbie is gambling. They Get attracted to quick money making things aka gambling(on most cases), they even invest in scams like cloud mining and after all this they try to regain their money by scamming purpose but it takes time for them to understand how things work here and why they have to build trust to earn some real money without hurting or braking any rules
Yes that is also another mistakes that newbies are doing. They tend to look for the fast income with bitcoin. And they tend to think first about gambling because they are maybe born a gambler. And also they are thinking by investing their money into a website they are going to earn that way easily and that is their wrong.

I don't get it why these people are defending faucets. It might not be a mistake but when you know various ways to earn bitcoin, faucet would be the last thing you would want to do. And also, no skill be developed from non-stop solving captchas. Don't even say that you'll be a better typist because you wouldn't. Typing 2 words per website wouldn't make you good at typing.

I totally agree with you. To be honest i did that things when i was a newbie because i don't really know what are the kind of investment, i just invest to a site if other bitcoin users does. In faucet, i agree also because most of the newbies now are being brainwashed that faucet is the best site to get free satoshi but they didn't know that they are not earning positive but a negative one and the only person who are earning positive is the faucet owner.

Everyone had this stage. Who wouldn't want to put some money into something that will make money for you without you doing any effort, anyway. Those who were scammed by those sites are likely to learn their lessons after 2 or 3 encounters. But those people who lost a lot of money from gambling wouldn't learn their lessons. They feel like they have the ability to recover all those losses like the people from the top of the charts.

Here are my tips for a newbie
1)Dont fall on what you read from other crypto-gurus, instead read them,confirm them,watch the charts in other words do your homework
2)No one will share you for free(not even with fee xD) a incoming pump and dump, most common case is to make you buy from his walls
3)crypto is full of drama, so dont be emotional
4)dont risk what you cant afford to lose
5)Observe charts,upcoming coins etc
