I learnt not to hoard like that the hard way. So everyone listen to this guy he knows the ways.  Tongue

probably the best way is to lurk for a while even before creating an account (on any forum)
be patient and then create an account.

Do not use any exchange as wallet so never hoard coins on any of them. After you finish your trading, withdraw your coins somewhere safe (local wallet or at least one where you control private keys). If you are trading altcoins, always do proper research and dont listen ppl from trollbox (consider trading alts as gamble but be smart gambler who always have every possible fact about game).

Hey there! I'm a new guy here and also a beginner with bitcoin. I'm not sure this topic is the right place to ask, but I have a question about so-called HYIP programs which are usually claimed to be scam.
If these services are obviously fraudulent, why so many people still fall for that? And how to aviod that? Huh

  • Always use escrow on the forum, preferably multisig
  • Never mix Crypto and reversable payment methods like Paypal
  • If it seems like too good a deal, it's probably stolen/carded/hacked
  • Don't keep large amounts on an exchange
  • Don't use a online wallet like Blockchain.info.  For smaller amounts use a local wallet like Electrum, cold storage for larger ones
  • Accounts can be freely traded on here, be careful who you trust
  • Always verify who you're trading with using a message on here.  Never send right over Skype/IRC

I wish I came here first, I got scammed on my first purchase... I rushed it, should have used escrow. Down 2 btc
thanks for the tips

I think asking for a loans if you have no valid collateral and asking for a loan with newbie account you will receive negative trust..

LOL! Without knowing completely about bitcoin they do the various instructions of posting and just giving one word responses seems to be a common mistake of newbies.

Yeah this is one of the most common mistakes of a newbie. They are thinking that they can get a loan easily by just letting their newbie accounts
as a collateral, well the h could lend you money for a newbie rank account or newly registered account.

Even a higher ranked account will get a negative trust if they ask for a high amount of loan without a valid collateral. I think it's only common sense that you have to offer a collateral if you want to loan from a stranger and people should know that.

but I think sometimes that there are really no new users, but existing users use the new account and tried to be scammed.

As I can see at a facebook group about bitcoins. Most members there are basically newbie and they are hoping to get a decent income with hyip.
But, they are all wrong only the first people who joined hyip are going to get a roi.

it is true, I also see. most of them share the link reff of Ponzi sites and some sites that use cloud mining ponzi system. but they are not wrong, because they are a new user, I am also when it becomes a new user, I was deceived by hyip sites. but if they know this forum, I'm sure they will be aware of it.

I don't know even you will tell them that it is only a scam sites. More of them are keep on proving that it is legit and showing their proofs.
Well I don't mind them anyway. They will just realize it once the site ran from them.
They are just depending on hyip and they think faucet and hyip are the ways of getting btc.

of course they will give evidence legit when their site is new, because it will attract many takers. then after a lot of people get stuck them into a scam. so maybe if you are the first investor, you can safely and profitably, but subsequently not.

Ahoy there  Smiley
Im a beginner with electronic currencies and started using Yobit few days ago
I would like to know what types of common mistakes newbies make and what to avoid in early days

Regards

I think the most common mistake made newbie is unwilling to read and analyze the state of the market in advance. Mostly newbie in trading just follow other traders from entering the market. Even a newbie also believe the nonsense of other traders in the chat room.
thank you,

Well that's what you called being laziness, and maybe they aren't serious in entering to trading, since trading is very sensitive and you need
also knowledge on it, even you have enough btc to invest but if you don't have enough knowledge on it you are just wasting your time and money.
And yeah newbies most mistake is this.

There's a possibility that a Newbie would visit the Investor-based games. He might get amused by the offers that are promised by the promoted scam sites there. Although there are people there like cyptodevil who warns people to not invest, there's a chance that a Newbie will still be a victim. I myself was a victim of Scrypt.cc years ago. I though it'd run forever, but after a week, there's a lot of "issues" on the website. I only get like 10% of my money back.

To all newbies out there, I advise that you guys ignore the Investor-based game before you get tricked by people running ponzi websites.
I agree here as even I started off investing in an HYIP website but since I had invested only $1, it was OK. There were users who were received negative ratings for promoting ponzis as well as newbies believed that those sites were
genuinely offering good interest rates. In addition to investor-based games, even gambling can be a method newbies need to stay away from.

I don't think that you can trust hyip anymore, as it will surely make you loose your money and never invest in doubler site too, as all of them are ponzi.

Yeah I find it very risky and I'm treating them now a scamming sites, if someone invites about to join their referrals on a ponzi site.
I'm not replying them because it's just only a money burning scheme.
