One of the mistakes of the newbie is gambling their satoshi that they get from faucets and complaining for their loss.
I think the most common mistake of a newbie are:
1. Getting scammed
2. Using faucets
3. Not buying BTC when it's low.
4. Investing in ponzis.
You gotta understand how bitcoin works as a newbie. Don't go for the quick profits, and go to the dodgy ponzi schemes. Nor should you sacrifice your time for tiny rewards on faucets.

Yeah to be honest i also do that things when i was a newbie and now i realize that's one of my stupid decision. But now i learned the lesson and i'm now using my bitcoin in a smarter way than before.

Watch out for "investments" and hyips. Also dont gamble too much actually maybe stay away all together. Save your coin and swap it for other coins then horde them all.
You have to face it just like me. Everyone was a newbie once when the foray into bitcoin forum began and no doubt there will be hundreds more to come, but I have written these fine words in the hope that you, dear newbie, can get a quick grasp.

I learnt not to hoard like that the hard way. So everyone listen to this guy he knows the ways. 
probably the best way is to lurk for a while even before creating an account (on any forum)
be patient and then create an account.
sometimes limited access if you do not register, register first was not a problem. but most new users are very lazy to read something. so yes read and understand is important. because you will get much benefit from reading
For a newbie is better to more read and learn anything for knowledge. It will avoid newbie to do so many mistakes. And the newbie will become more experienced. I agree with you mate.
yup right, and also when new users are sometimes in a hurry to be able to produce, but I think they do not yet fit to be earning. but looking for the experience by reading is the most important thing for new users.
And getting experienced people's thought about bitcoin, that is a good thing for you able to learn and you can lessen the mistake of a
newbie when you are going to get to try earning with bitcoin.

Always try to do the service with escrow maintenance because you can avoid fraudulent services and scam. Recently some weeks before I have got scammed by MRAI user nearly a worth 0.008 BTC. Try to be bit cautious.

I think the most common of newbie is investing on HYIPs with a small amount of bitcoin and asking why their profit is so small lol and they also trying to earn fast bitcoin in gambling sites with a small capital.

And usually they regret it later & some of them decided to forget bitcoin. Also, for newbies who join signature campaign, please don't make spam/very short post. I've seen some newbie or jr.
Don't we all thought that there are some ways to earn money without doing much effort and don't require much time? That's why most of us has been a victim of a ponzi site for once or twice. We all thought that those ponzi sites are "legit" sites like they have mentioned. This might be the most common mistake of a newbie.
Another mistake for a newbie in altcoin trading is buying a coin and expecting for the price to rise up or to double in a second or in a minute. I have come to a realization that you have to wait atleast a day or two before you can get real money out of trading. Some even wait for weeks or months when there's a new coin with potential.

I think the most common mistake is using HYIP webs for obtain more BTC, you will get scammed in a few days, and gamble your btc immediately. I made the first mistake with my first satoshis (0.01 BTC).

Newbies uses web wallet whfch is really not that secure. Try to find a more suitable wallet for you like a desktop wallet hardware wallet , paper wallet or etc. A wallet whch you are the only person who has access to it's privatekey. Also most newbie invest in hyips and ponzi like it's actually a real investment well it's not. They are fraud and eventually they will run with your coins. Also if yo are tradig, don't go with the current hype that every coin is in. Trade coins that has a solid foundation not those coins that the price rise up pretty quickly and ended up as a pump and dump scam.

Well escrowing is needed if you are going have a transaction to avoid failure to your transaction.

If these services are obviously fraudulent, why so many people still fall for that? And how to aviod that?
