The Ferrari's nose is quite innovative.

Not only so far is it the only one with a unique shape but it should (not confirmed yet) be the only one detachable in 2 spots!

This seems a small thing but with the salary cap since you will change a smaller part when/if it will be damaged you will end up saving a lot of money.

I'm expecting one team dominating, the one who will find a loophole while the others will need to run to top the gap.
And if the loophole will is big we can have months with 1 team dominating by minutes at the end of the race.

Yeah, I remember last time around Mercedes were ludicrously far ahead. It took years for other cars to get close.

Not long to wait now until pre-season testing, I can't wait. Just really hope it is more even than it has been in the past, and that the new 'closer racing' plan does actually work as intended. If it's one team heading off into the distance again whilst everyone else fights for third place, it's just not as much fun.

That looks...  So beautiful.  Probably the best looking Ferrari car in a little while.  And yeah everybody could see the difference.  The Ferrari looks sleek at the side pods while  the Aston Martin looks bulky and kinda fat.  Now I’m really curious how these cars ride on the track.  I think this coming season could be better than the last one and the last one was really great.

Probably it will be less fun.

Fun fact every time we have a competitive year with 2 teams they reset the cars.

Fun if the team that finds a loop hole is not one of the top teams like Mercedes, Red Bull or Ferrari.  The fans will love something new even if it’s just one team dominating the season with the top teams trying to play catch up.  Lol.  I’m rooting for Aston Martin and hopefully we see Vettel’s finger back to annoy everybody.  Cheesy  Young Vettel was hilarious.

But if I were to pick a team that could find a loop hole, I think it’s Red Bull.  Newey prolly made something again with the diffuser.  Lol.  Williams could be another one.  Their senior technical team is made up of mostly newcomers in F1 who transitioned from WRC...  Out of the box thinking.  And yeah...  Merc.

The owner or the Mandalika Circuit team may not think that Dorna, has a team of investigators with the case. I hope the misbehavior committed by insiders can be a lesson, this makes Indonesian citizens ashamed. the first enthusiastic about Moto Gp in Indonesia. If this is not completed quickly, I think the Mandalika circuit could not be used this year because of the lack of standards?
The basic standard had been set by Dorna well in advance and at that time it was still in the discussion of making circuits, so I think the advice given by Dorna was very good. However, I don't know about the circuit side who played the opposite way in the construction of the circuit, but from what we can see now, it's actually very clear that not all of the circuits use Dorna standards, so there are things that need to be improved, such as the asphalt and gravel.
dorna still gives a chance, but if it's still the same one day nothing will change. maybe dorna will change her mind. I hope it won't. a number of factors that make Dorna Sports believe in the safety or advantages of the Mandalika Circuit. Due to the very wide track, at every corner the run-off is also quite wide. not to mention the gravel area before the parapet. So, according to them it is one of the safest and the most different circuit from the others. make a difficult racer a champion

Ferrari definitely looks sleek. It is such a nice looking car, maybe it is the nostalgia speaking but they are definitely one of the better looking cars in the entire sport for me. That could be because of schumi or that could be just true I do not know, how would you know if you are biased or not Cheesy. At the end, it is still danger bells for Aston Martin with the only car being B method and all others are A.

I feel like this year's Haas will be aston martin which is horrible considering they have Vettel with them, which will not be great for him, just a few seasons after being 4 times in a row champion, dude managed to end up with the worst possible team (maybe) this year, and that is not really cool to see him in.

Breaking news in Formula One: Michael Masi has been removed as race director for next season. The FIA doesn't give a reason - incompetence or bias - but the article alludes to both (he broke the rules twice in order to comply with Red Bull's suggestions). He will be offered an "alternative role" at the FIA. Let's hope he's not put in charge of anything!

His position was clearly untenable, so hopefully the debacle of last season can be put to bed and we can focus on 2022! Maybe Max will win* his first title this year.  Wink

@Cnut237 this decision should have been taker sooner, but I’m glad it’s done because Hamilton did not deserve lose the title and I expect Max won’t be winning it this year. Furthermore is this the season of Ferrari? they kept us waiting for this upgrade and I personally feel it’s totally worth it, but the big question yet remains will their drivers be able to finally win now as they have an upgraded car with them.

It's a tough job by the organisers in Mandalika that they messed up with the asphalt, Dorna recommended a asphalt compound, they just ignored the recommendation and used a different compound that was available there, this apparent saving will now be twice as expensive, for this year they can only repair the asphalt, for next year I think Dorna will prescribe a completely new asphalt like in Texas.
At this time there is no news of the cancellation of the Race for Mandalika this season and for the problem of having to re-pave at a cost that is twice as expensive, that is the risk of the Mandalika party who had previously ignored the recommendation from Dorna because Dorna also had a team of investigators regarding the homologation of the circuit when not yet used, and in this case Loris Capirossi usually comes down to see in person when Homologation is applied to Mandalika as well as all the other circuits, So hopefully Mandalika doesn't get canceled this year.

You saw that dismissal of someone from the race management. Disputable decisions had already been made last season. That ultimately cost Lewis Hamilton the world title. I am surprised that no action has been taken earlier. In principle, this dismissal immediately confirms that the race management was completely wrong in some decisions last season. It's a shame that this news is being overshadowed because there are other things that are more important than this layoff. She will start again soon, then it will be between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

^  His fate was already sealed yesterday when Merc tweeted ‘Hamilton is back.’.
Yeah, was definitely sealed by Monday at the latest, I think that's when the FIA reps plus Masi had discussions with Red Bull and Merc teams. Took them a while to finally go public.

It does look like a fantastic car, just hope it's not the usual "more style than substance" that we see from Ferrari. It would be great to see them back where they belong, challenging for race wins and the championship. It never feels right having Ferraris fighting for the lower places.
I've said a few times the one thing I hope for this season is that cars are more evenly matched, and the desired change in the regs to allow closer racing actually works. Can you imagine having say 8 or 10 drivers who all have a genuine chance of winning each race? That's probably a bit far-fetched, but still, any step towards that would be great.

As we can see it is a "type A" car.

So far only Aston Martin is "Type B".

After the asphalt on the Indonesian track is very bad and stones are coming loose, see Bagnaia, the track will be partially resurfaced, it is too dangerous to ride there like that. I guess the track will be completely resurfaced after the race, it's a pity that the operators didn't use the proposed asphalt, so the costs are doubled.
I believe and I have also read a lot about this in all available media and what I am following now so that the asphalt deserves to be repaired, if it is not repaired then the race at Mandalika seems to have to be postponed and even Dorna can drop it this year.

If you look at the final statement from Dorna Sport and the FIM after the Pre-season Test was held, there were indeed some points that needed to be improved there and when it came to percentages, there were around 17.5% they had to improve from all the tracks there and this had to be done quickly, but this is what it is. tends to be normal for me because this is a really new circuit and there will definitely be updates on every existing track.
on the other hand the response from some of the drivers is also quite good and likes the layout, circuit design, security and the very wide gravel. But indeed their complaints are quite the same, namely the dirty circuit and this must be addressed immediately
The circuit gravel also had to be repaired because there were a lot of loose stones and flying that hit the drivers who were taking pre-season tests at the time, and from some news I've read recently the circuit will work hard to deal with this as quickly as possible with a target completion. until 10 March 2022.

maybe throughout history I've only seen the Mandalika circuit track with peeling asphalt at this time it's a bad thing for motor racers in terms of safety, I hope the managers of Mandalaika really do well on the circuit, this can reduce the assessment of Moto Gp eligibility standards. and the motor racers also became the first experience with the peeling road circuit.
Don't worry, all parties have seen this and the Mandalika circuit also intends to fix it before the Race schedule comes and when you want to use it for the Race it is really ready, because the workers will do overtime to solve all the shortcomings.

There is a consensus that Masi was asked to do too much, and was left quite isolated in that role, so everyone understands he was in a difficult position... but at the same time, there already are clear rules that don't leave any room for misinterpretations and personal preferences. The issue isn't that there weren't any clear rules, so Masi decided on what would be the best course of action, rather it was that he specifically broke the clear rules not once but twice. I mean, he really went out of his way to break the rules to achieve his desired outcome. I can't see how the FIA retain any credibility if he remains in his role.
Honestly, it wasn't all him and it was a bit the rulebook not being clear enough and all of that. However, reality is that he did interpreted in the most unfair way possible as well and he always made it like a slight close thing at all times. Whatever decision he had, it was never in favor of the person how was clearly away and in a better position, it was always to make the race a bit more closer and more entertaining. That is great for the general viewership but at the end of the day it is not fair. This is why people argued that he didn't read the rules as it was intended to be and he read them as a way to use it to make things more fun.

Until now there has not been a single driver who praised and commented positively on the Mandalika circuit, all the drivers complained about the Mandalika circuit which was still dirty and dusty, even the world champion motorcycle GP rider complained of neck pain after starting one lap at the Mandalika circuit, homework that must be fast in the fix so that the Mandalika circuit can be on par with other countries' circuits..
Indeed, there is still a lot of work that must be done by the Mandalika Circuit because in general the circuit has not been completed for a long time so it is not known what things are still lacking, but over time with the pre-season test this month, the circuit has been able to evaluate which things which is still lacking so that it can be immediately fixed before the Race takes place in this season there.
