Here’s the track at Qatar:

There seems to be a decent amount of straights which is really good and more advantageous for Hamilton and Mercedes.  Hamilton to win the race is at 1.70, Verstappen is at 2.55...  What do you guys think?

Fastest lap for Hamilton is at 2.85.

I think that out of the remaining tracks, this is the one where Red Bull should be strongest. The task for Mercedes will be staying close enough to Red Bull around all the corners, so that they can emerge close enough at the start of the long straight to pull off an overtake. Will be interesting to see how much (if anything) Hamilton's new engine advantage has degraded after Brazil.

At those odds, I'd be tempted to bet on Verstappen for the race win, as I think it's too close to call. If the start line had been at the very beginning of the straight rather than halfway down it, I'd be tempted to bet on Hamilton getting the lead on the first lap. As it is, I'm not sure the run-in to turn one is long enough for Mercedes to use their raw pace.

Fastest lap I never bet on, it has nothing to do with the driver and everything to do with the relative positions of everyone towards the end of the race. If it's Hamilton and Verstappen vying for the lead, then you'd expect Perez and Bottas to be trying to take the fastest lap away from the lead driver of the other team (assuming they don't lose position in the race to do so).

Hamilton IMHO has a good advantage now in the rest of the tracks. He has 1 engine for 4 races (1 already done) while Verstappen has only old engines.
He can push higher hp in the engine.

I can see Mercedes dominating in the end of the season.

When you win a race by 10 seconds even though you started at 10 (and 20th in sprint) and you still want to punish the person who came in second, you know you are getting desperate like crazy Cheesy. I mean what are they going to gain here, hopefully maybe few more points? That's all they could gain from this, and if Max ends up winning even one, then things are going to be so much easier for max, he could literally let Hamilton win and still end up becoming second and still become champion which we know if Max wants to and there is nothing wrong with the car then he could finish second very easily.

To think that Hamilton could get the championship with the help of this is just such a small calculation and shows how annoying Mercedes could become. I mean they were always annoying, it was always annoying and it will stay annoying for a long time, I hate that team, but the pettiness they have right now looks awesome, I am enjoying their tears.

Wouldn't say that this track have decent amount of straights - in general just one, where only DRS zone will be. And simulated average speed isn't very high compared to some tracks.
But yeah, now Mercedes have speed advantage. There is rumours that Mercedes can change Lewis engine again and if he will receive 5 places penalty, probably it won't be big deal for him.
For fastest lap, I would pick between Bottas and Perez.

Goodbye to the legend, Vale. He finished the last race, even though he didn't get any achievement in the last race, but all people still respect him as the greatest racer in the world. Who saw him in Valencia will be sad because won't see him again the next year. What is his plan next? if he is a football player, maybe the next step is to continue as a coach. I don't know what is the next job for an ex-racer?. I hear the rumors he was interesting to try F1, I don't think it will be easy to change habits from 2 wheels to 4.

Will he retire or will he have the same achievements? It doesn't seem to exist at the moment. No one rider who can impress me like Rossi until now.
Isn't he interested in winning the VR46 team? I read on some social media they are ready to perform in MotoGP 2022. Or is it just an issue? If he wants to stay in MotoGP maybe it's a good path, to be a manager in his team. Of course with his experience he was able to provide good support. The VR46 team will reportedly also get sponsorship from Saudi arabian oil companies Armaco and Tanal.

when rossi does't race again next season whether the MotoGP race will be interesting, the idol has decided to retire. I really like this race without him it would be weird. hope he stays in the paddock supporting his VR46 racing team and give advice to Dorna Sports for competitive racing in motogp.

Valentino Rossi was one of the greatest riders if not the greatest of all time, for me it was the greatest of all time but many argued with me that he always had the best Moto. Then a time come when he joined Yamaha from Honda as Honda was saying it is the machine (the Moto) who is giving you wins and Rossi was pissed by that so he joined the competition team which was not as good as Honda during 2004-2005 season if I recall correctly and yet it showed that even with not the best Moto/ride he was able to win the MotoGP title again, that for me is an example of being the greatest of all times.

However soon after that age did its thing and Rossi could not keep up with the new young promising drivers anymore so from a couple of years he has not won a single race and it was only natural for him to retire.Still "Grazie Vale" and MotoGp will not be the same without him but that's life.

In any case, Rossi is a legend and will be in the hearts of the fans for a long time, also you will see the number #46 in yellow on the stands for a long time. After Mick Doohen the next MotoGP legend for me, in addition Rossi is one of the few who has ridden all the bikes 500 cc, 800 cc, 990 cc and 1000 cc. The two-strokes with 500 cc were probably the most dangerous motorcycles ever completely without technology. Thank you for the many years and successes with you Rossi, "Grazie Vale"

Vale remains the MotoGp fortunately, unfortunately just no longer as a driver.

^  Merc getting very desperate and would be trying to get from all opportunities where they can either gain more points or have their rivals’ points reduced.  Cheesy  Not to mention their attempt to cheat.  Lol.

Mercedes officially asked to FIA to rewatch the "push-out" by Verstappen to Hamilton on turn 4.

I think Max deserved a penalty there he did nothing to be able of doing the turn in the normal way.

I've been enjoying my time while watching Formula 1 for some weeks. Because there is a really high level of competition for the title between Verstappen and Hamilton. And there are only three races left till the end of the season. The point difference is 14 now and Verstappen is still the leading driver. The Brazil GP was just amazing. Despite every incident happened, Hamilton succeeded in winning the race with a great effort. We saw how much he wanted his 8th title. Verstappen will have a really hard time securing his lead in the championship seemingly. The next race is Qatar GP. I'm looking forward to watching it!

I read on reddit that there was about 2+ kilometeres of straights in Interlagos (brazil) which made mercedes do a lot better, we all know that Mercedes is a lot better team during straights and RB is a lot better on turns, which was proven multiple times when Hamilton passed all of his opponents on the same straight. This is why I believe that we should not really be shocked to see such a result, a brand-new engine, a very angry Hamilton, and a Mercedes car on probably the biggest straight percentage track, all makes this race a favorite for Mercedes.

However Qatar will not be the same, there will be a lot less straights, and that will result with Red Bull finally having advantage again, just a week ago Verstappen won a race, and now Hamilton did, and even though it was looking insane, I assume that maxing out your engine and driving on straights did it, now things will be a lot different.

Rossi has officially retired from MotoGP, So Sad, can't see him race in My Country, because Indonesia is hosting MotoGP 2022 at the Mandalika circuit, a lot of Rossi fans here and hope to see his performance. Unfortunately, this dream could not come true. He is the legend and always be remembered by us with his skill and race records.

It is rare that someone who likes sports in general does not know about Valentino Rossi who gave that special touch to MotoGP competition and he as a person transcended as a celebrity.

He finished tenth in Sunday's race but in a as he always does, he ended up "stealing it" the show.
By the way, a nice tribute from some celebrities related to the world of motors and sports but also great Hollywood stars.

Keep also in mind he has a new engine now for the 3 remaining races so they can push for more RPM to getting more horse powers while Verstappen needs to end the season with old engines or going in penalty.

And he showed us exactly what a superior car can do even when starting from behind. I mean, totally crazy and he even had a few laps to spare after overtaking to take 1st place. Just I am surprised not more cars try to hold him off unless they rather see him win again than Verstappen.

Looks like we need to wait until final day to see what happens here OR we see another big drama incident that changes everything for everyone Wink
I think that cars given up defending their positions because they know even with defending it will be only a matter of time and if he defended hard he could make a mistake or collide with him which will make him risking retire from the race and get maybe further penalties for causing a collision or even if they didn't even touch a wrong defensive move could get them a penalty for dangerous driving plus they lnow he can push his PU to the limit and they cannot do that if they don't want to penalized for changing a new one at the end of the season.

Hamilton was just flying during the whole race yesterday. His determinance was at top levels that's for sure. But it seems like the engine change in his car really helped him a lot to take this win also. He seems to have a faster car than Verstappen for now but we never know what can happen in the remaining three races. We all know Verstappen in the end. He has a very big chance to win his first title ever in F1. I expect him to be fully focused also. And I hope to see the competition for the title continuing even in the last race.

Keep also in mind he has a new engine now for the 3 remaining races so they can push for more RPM to getting more horse powers while Verstappen needs to end the season with old engines or going in penalty.

I would also see it that way, presumably Mercedes has really only installed the very best and they can operate this engine completely at the limit because of the only 4 races. That was and is the only chance Mercedes has to catch Verstappen, and now they're taking a complete risk. Verstappen and Honda will not risk the penalty with a new engine I think, possibly if they are already behind in the world championship, a failure of the two would decide the world championship.

Alfa has also announced the new driver next to Bottas for next year. The 22 year old Chinese Guanyu Zhou

Very sad that he resigned, but also for him the time has come, the bike was no longer the best and the age has also contributed the necessary and think he could no longer go to the physical limit as 25 year old guys.
26 years of a career in the MotoGP world is a very fantastic thing, especially when Valentino Rossi retires at the age of 42 years where other MotoGP Legendaries never retire at that age, on average they only reach the age of 38 years to 40 years or so around 22 years of a career in the world Grand Prix event.

The good news is that Mandalika has been inaugurated by the President of Indonesia, and is ready to be used for racing. This month precisely next week's weekendMandalika will be used the last series of WSBK this season and for next season Mandalika has also entered the MotoGP calendar if not wrong will be used in the 2nd Series 2022.
I am also a big fan of Valentino Rossi who was also looking forward to his arrival in Indonesia, but that is no longer the case because it is time for him to retire and continue the development of the Acedemy VR46 which he had founded a long time ago and for the time being, Dorna has also released a calendar for next year's race, hopefully there will be no more changes next year.

Here is the thing. There are three games left to the end of the season in F1 now. And the gap between Verstappen and Hamilton is fourteen points now. Let's say that Hamilton won and Verstappen ended at the second place in the next two races. And let's say that none of them had the fastest lap at the end of the races. In this case, the gap will be closed and they both will have the same points before the last race in Abu Dhabi. I can't even imagine the competition then.  Cheesy  Honestly, I wouldn't say no to this kind of a scenario. But we'll see how things will go.

One thing is sure for me,Verstappen can only make the best damage limitation possible in the upcoming races which clearly favor the Mercedes engine, not that Honda is doing bad in straights but Mercedes is just better.I am pretty confident that if nothing unpredictable happens like Hamilton car problems or him crashing or going out of track he will most likely win the remaining races of Qatar and Abu Dhabi as that has been the case most of the time. The only question mark remains Saudi Arabia where teams are going to race for the first time,I think the title will be decided there.
