Mercedes wasn't this super dominant, nobody else could ever catch me type of team before the last regulation change (well big change one) and with that they became super dominant, just as Red Bull is finally catching up and actually even faster in some tracks, there is a new one, I hope red bull doesn't start to suck big time this season but the way Mercedes and red bull is racing and fighting, I feel like next seasons car is something they are lacking big time, they have to improve this year's car constantly in order to win the title this year, if they stop and the other one continues then they are going to lose for sure, but because of this they can't keep improving on the 2022 car neither, and meanwhile teams like Mclaren and Aston Martin can just keep focusing on next seasons car, which means they could actually be fighting for a title next season thanks to having this advantage.
Mercedes...
The team who developed the Electrical part of the engine with FIA ahead of other teams.
The team who tested the tires ahead of the other team with Pirelli...
Anyway.
The FIA wanted to homologate a method for changing tires that was the same for all teams.
It was going in this direction but then Redbull and Mercedes went to war, "inviting" even the satellite teams to take sides.
In fact, nothing was done. Everything continues in the same way as now.
