What scares me the most about Mercedes at this point is that they ended up somehow find a 0.4 more seconds per lap on their car, I think it is 0.4 seconds faster than Red Bull even, since they were slower that means it could be even more seconds. Which is scary for Red Bull, look at Hungary qualifiers, with 1-2 of Hamilton and Bottas it shows how fast Mercedes car got, that is a ton of pace to be scared of.

If this was just crash and that's it and Max will return to fight then there is no problem, we will see a very entertaining season. However if Mercedes actually found a way to get the car 0.4 faster than Max every lap, then it is going to be a nightmare second half of the season for Red Bull.

It depends on the track.
At the moment it seems Redbull is the fastest track in the fast track while in the slower track Mercedes is better (and is superslow Ferrari is competitive but they stopped the upgrades on cars in April to save money for 2023).

After the summer we will have fast tracks like Spa and Imola and BRB should dominate there.

In the last race, Hamilton was just so lucky. I must definitely admit that. He still raced really well and I have a respect for it. But what was that accident for God's sake? Bottas just screwed up and braked late. And we witnessed a pileup among many drivers. Hamilton was so lucky that he didn't get any damage there. Verstappen got a hit from the side and the car was damaged unfortunately. He didn't have a good race afterwards. This was a great opportunity for Hamilton to catch him in the driver standings and even get past him. And he made it. He is 8 points ahead of Verstappen right now. Verstappen has been very unlucky for 2 races.

This weekend finally again MotoGP in Austria and 2 weeks in a row.

According to ServusTV, there are increasing signs that Rossi will also be racing in MotoGP next year. The new main sponsor of his team wants for promotional purposes that Rossi in the VR46 team with his half-brother Marini still drives a season, whether this is a good idea, the Ducati is a completely different bike?

Very sad for Vettel, it was a great race from him. Unfortunately, the rules are like that, even if I personally find them exaggerated, for what is a litre needed for a sample? But that's the way it is, rules are rules.

Now the points for Williams are more and also Raikkönen was rewarded with the catch up with the red tyre, without the unsafe release more would have been possible for Kimi.

Change my mind, Alonso driver of the Day.
Sainz could be better versus Hamilton but he couldn't resist too long his tires were too old while Hamilton got fresh and soft tires.

We got rumors about Russell replacing Bottas after the summer do they will start again?

I mean today in the disaster he did a good job for Mercedes...  Grin Wink

Nope.  He was def my driver of the day too.  I feel like him and most overy other driver in the grid hates the Merc’s drivers guts by now cos of Hamilton and Verstappen incident and now the Bottas and Norris incident.  Merc should make sure they are ahead of everybody in quali or they’ll be given a hard time during race day.  Grin  Can’t wait for the Belgium GP.

Alonso was superb in holding back Hamilton - who obviously had a faster car - for so long. He was instrumental in his team winning the race. He's my driver of the day as well. I would love to see him in a top car at the front of the grid every race.

The Bottas lock up was awful, ruined the race for a few drivers and of course it's the second race in a row where Max has dropped points after an altercation with a Merc. It certainly ruined his race and cost him the championship lead. It also robbed us of the chance to see how he'd interact with Hamilton after last week. I really wanted to see how that would play out. But maybe even a three week break will not be enough to calm him down after this one... if he thought Mercedes were out to get him before, he'll be certain of it now.

What scares me the most about Mercedes at this point is that they ended up somehow find a 0.4 more seconds per lap on their car

Mercedes have had an upgrade recently, but it's difficult to say what it's given them on full race runs... as Max hasn't been able to compete properly in the last two races. Mercedes have certainly got closer to Red Bull, the question of whether they are faster can't really be settled until the next race at the earliest; we need to see Max vs Lewis in a full race to understand better. But it's certainly close, which should make for more entertainment!

It seems that it is official news that Cal Crutchlow will replace Mobrideli for the next 3 races, namely two series at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Austria and Silverstone, England. We know Franco Morbidelli is continuing his recovery from left knee surgery.
The news I heard he will be until September for his recovery. Currently Franco Morbidelli is in 13th place with 40 points.

The intrigue is getting more and more heated. If someone talked about a boring race and intrigue, let's get it Wink I do not think that Hamilton dreamed of such a return to the leadership in the championship, but we have what we have when the most incredible conspiracy theories begin to find real clues in real life Grin I do not envy Christian Horner from Red Bull, who had a large-scale disaster at the behest of Valteri Bottas, but I do not think that Mercedes, even in the most insidious plans, could foresee such a thing, which happened thanks to the accident of his driver. Alpin won his jackpot, which he hardly dreamed of even in his best dreams.

Red Bull were already seeming quite paranoid that Mercedes were out to get them... and then at the very next race, Max's car gets damaged due to the actions of a Mercedes again! Of course it was an accident from Bottas, a lock up, but it ended up damaging Max and leaving Lewis out in the clear up front. It will be interesting to see what happens when the season restarts after the break, it's just a shame that the teams have a few weeks to cool off... it would have been great to see them going at it again next week, and what Max's response would be.

What a shame. I don't even know waht to say about it. I feel so sad for Seb, but unfortunately, rules are rules and it's same for everyone.
In terms of championship, good news for Lewis, bad for max. And extra points to Williams, it means a lot for them and I think it means they will get more money in the end of season.

We have 2 similar cases in the past always with Vettel and he has been disqualified.

AbuDhabi 2012 with Vettel
Ticktum F2 2020
Yeah the Disqualification is official .
I feel sad for Sebastian but rules are rules unfortunately, he is not the first driver to be disqualified for fuel irregularities and certainly won't be the last.

A total 10 points for Williams. While Luis extends his lead to championship points difference between from 6 to 8 points.
Vettel must be devastated since his team predicted that the car would have 1.44L left of fuel.

I still think we are yet to see what is going to happen with Max. If anyone in the racing world that could ignore a 51g hit and move on and race without fear on their next race, it is definitely Max, normally it is such a huge crash that I would have expected some of the players may end up not even racing and waiting after the break, and I know it is not Max's style but that is what some others could have done, not all but few would have definitely avoided.

Most of the others except maybe 1-2 would definitely race with fear, anytime you are going head to head, your reflexes could put a bit on the breaks from now on after such a hit. So I am guessing there is still a small chance that Max may end up not being as aggressive as he used to be, or maybe he is just Max and he will definitely keep on fighting like nothing happened because he is that kind of person.

A normal race ? No, no , no. I do not hope for a normal and a boring race as we have so many this year that at this point if the race is boring , I simply turn off my TV and do something else. Fans tried to bring alerts to FIA and F1 in order to make it more than a 2 car show because we did not have a battle in 3 or 4 cars for 1st place for so many years now.

On my radar , the rain is near Hungaroring right now and in 2 hours it will rain in almost all Hungary so lets hope the rain will come and bring us a great show.

Well it's definitely not a boring race but what an unlucky one for verstappen again. He was kicked out of the race in turn 1 by bottas and now it looks like the bottom section of his chassis is damaged and i am pretty sure, that he will not win a single point in this race. Bottas will probably get a penalty for that but that doesn't really matter because hamilton was untouched in this incident and will probably score another 25 points in this race while Verstappen will probably not win any points or only a few. It loos like everything is going against Verstappen now which makes me very sad because i really hoped for an open championship this year until the next race.  Lips sealed

I think Bottas was sleeping during the start of the race,he was the slowest starter and he was not careful at all to brake when needed,he braked really really late which brought the red flag together with some good drivers out of the race. Now I don't know if the mechanics of RedBull will be able to fix Verstappen car suspension in the these minutes while the race is stopped because of red flag.If Verstappen car will not be fixed it is going to be an easy win for Hamilton and even if it fixed Hamilton I think will win anyway.Only a big rain,a intensified one compared to the one who is falling right now can change the fate of this race.
I think Bottas didn't expect cars infront to brake so early and I think he was thinking of braking late to recouped some if the positions he lost at the beginning of the race.
It was a chaotic start of a race and there is a question to Stroll why he is not getting a penalty as Bottas got a 5 places penalty, Stroll he personally took out both Leclerc and Norris off the race.
Anyway the race was entertaining good job from Ocon keeping Vettel behind him all the time not giving him any chance of overtaking, that shows that Alpine car is as good as Aston Martin and man Alonso really put up a great fight with Luis if he given up easily Luis would have won the race at the end.

^  That’s actually a funny thing with Russell’s first points finish.  It had to be with Latifi finishing ahead of him.  Cheesy

French driver with French team won for the 1st time since Alain Prost times. Amazing achievement for Occon.
Vettel podium is also impressive thing.
Mercedes failed big when they didn't let Hamilton to change tyres before restart. I've never seen just 1 car on start line Cheesy. But Hamilton did amazing job by recovering so many places in track where it's so difficult to overtake.
Alonso showed masterclass by defending from Hamilton, it's pity that he didn't managed to keep him until the end.
Verstappen - just 1 point in recent two races. Today Bottas is responsible for it.
Williams - both drivers getting points is something incredible.

So how many points is Hamilton ahead after today’s race?  -_-

It was fun watching Alonso defend against Hamilton.  Too bad he made a mistake and locked his tires, allowing Hamilton to make an easy pass.  It would’ve been hilarious watching it til the end of the race.  It felt like Alonso had bad intentions there.

Yea , it rained just between the Budapest and Hungaroring and is still raining in that area. However, we had an historical race today that is already in the F1 History book with an Ocon winning the race :

Hamilton starting alone at the re-start , the epic duel between Alonso and Hamilton ( who in my opinion did the delicious of the fans ) , the anger and stubborn of Vettel who did not back up a second and kept putting pressure on Ocon and the perfect driving of Ocon from start to finish.
