F1 season finally starts this weekend. What are your thoughts before it? Personally, I'm not going to predict something just after seeing pre season testing results, but I hope that season will be interesting. How Red Bull will perform with Honda engines and Mclaren with Renault engines. Also, it will be interesting see Leclerc in Ferarri, Ricciardo in Renault or Kimi in Alfa Romeo.

Yesterday race was amazing. It was a hard fought battle till the end of the race. It was a great win by Andrea Dovizioso and I hope this Championship remains as open as this first race was.

This upcoming weekend we have the first F1 race and a lot of young drivers to check out so I will be watching this first race on Sunday.

Hey it looks like this sport is finally getting competitive again, last few seasons due to lack of competition this sport was loosing it’s sheen. I missed watching yesterday’s race but read it was a close one, I feel this sets the tone for all the races ahead. I’m personally hoping that this year we have a new champion, and like you said let’s hope those young drivers do offer stiff competition to the experienced drivers.

Just dont get to excited you know. There were moment last year when i tough that this will be competitive again but eventually we see that Ducati is way to fast, Honda is balance and Yamaha is slow. Seem like nothing change but progress is made Suzuki big time.

Can wait to see next race and then we can discuss little more on this topic. Now we stay to see formula 1 for this weekend.

Can we see better start of new season recently in any motosport.

Yesterday race was man, great, watched mogo 2 and motogp and stayed amazed. This race shown that we have future in this sport. Rookie Quartararo was devastated to stall on the grid, forcing him to start from pit lane instead of fifth, but mounted a strong comeback and he is definitely someone to closely look for..

Yesterdays practice was really good at least by result. New comers are on the edge, Honda with RB not function so good, and McLaren is on good form. Hope this will last for season starting race not just for this testing seasons.

In any case, McClaren has done good in testing. We might see a new leader outside Mercedes, Ferrari and Redbull.

If that ever happens, it won't be McLaren  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

@slocker. Agreed. However, the amount of laps a car has made during testing should also be examined. It will show the car's stability and reliability. At present, Mclaren is showing good on both in the Renault engine.

I reckon this year might begin Mclaren's fight for the 5th or 4th spot in the constructor's championship.

For team of that resume it should be realistic to battle for that high and be in top 3 places each year they made huge mistake with Honda engines and they lose everything yo that, that is my perspective on this. I sure hope that this season I could see them once on victory position but this is very hard to imagine.

@Juggy. The FIA changes the rules every year to balance the teams and to make the sport safer for the drivers. Sometimes it also makes changes for the sport to be more exciting.

Hey @bbc.reporter I didn’t knew rules were updated each year, can’t believe it I have been following this sport since so many years but never realised that rules got updated each year. I do hope you’re right and McClaren provides some competition, as last season really began to get boring with Hamilton winning it easily. I’m really wishing someone else wins the first place this season, this sport needs a new leader to make it exciting again.

It would be great but testing and racing are two completely different aspect of this. I sure hope they will be competitive this season I mean they are great team but last several season they didn't show anything.

@slocker. I reckon the FIA is serious to make the sport more exciting. It has allowed changes on the front and rear wings to reduce turbulence which affects the car behind. It has also allowed to widen the slot for the drag reduction system in rear wing to make it more effective. The maximum fuel allowed was also increased to make the drivers push for more speed instead of conserving fuel.

All those changes were decided to increase overtaking hehehe.

Hey when did these rules come out and most importantly why were they not in place before, I remember so many races that could have benefited from these rules. I feel over taking is a must in this type of sport, it only makes the contest interesting and glues the audience to their seats. I feel Ferrari will definitely have a good advantage because of their speedy cars, it’ll be interesting to see how other car makers take advantage of these rules.

Probably they want to get this season more exciting which is good, hopefully we will see much more overtaking, but I think that team will make additional modification on this. For this I mean big team will have easy to pass other but small will have again hard times for this. But this can be sure until first race come to be.

With new rules and regulation on this season this could be interesting from at the moment this point of view. If they really want to increase overtaking and this proves to be good call believe they will have good audience cuz think that last season was maybe drop for them.

Here is car launch schedule:

Almost all cars will be launched in this and next week. First pre-season testing will start on 19th February. More than one month until new season...
I have a pretty good feeling for RBR this year.  Anyone wanna bet against 'RBR finishes above Ferrari in points' this year?  Nothing big.  Just a friendly bet of 10 bucks.  Grin
Brave prediction! I'm in! Cheesy I see no way how Red Bull can finnish above Ferrari in constructors championship.
Sauber officially is now Alfa Romeo Sauber Racing team. After so many years Alfa is back in formula 1. Maybe they will be good or something close to what they were back in the early years.
In previous season they already had Alfa Romeo logo on the car, so these changes were planned for long time. But it won't make big changes, they will remain to be reserve team of Ferarri.

Hey it seems the wait to see these beauties are finally getting over, I can’t wait to see what new changes will be coming. I do hope this year Ferrrari offers some stiff competition, even after having one of the fastest cars they seem to be lagging season after season. I believe Hamilton will start as the favourite to win at the season end, anyone else recommends keeping an eye on some other driver to cause an upset?.
