^  Yup.  Merc has the fastest car.  Think about it, if you put Vettel in the fastest car on the grid, he'd be world champion easy just like he did 4 times at RBR.  But the gap between Ferrari and Merc is getting smaller and smaller since Vettel joined the team.

How come Ferrari has the fastest car ? In straights if they had the fastest car they would be able to get Mercedes cars while we saw on Russia that Hamilton overtook Vettel on the straights with Drs on ?

And on top of that Hamilton is really the fastest driver on track actually.

Want to make formula 1 more entertaining for the fans again? Bring back the loud engines hehehe. I miss the high screaming sound that the sport is known for.

I reckon the simpler engines before the v6 turbos would also make the battlefield more neutral among manufacturers.

Hey yes I'll agree I remember the days when I would put the television to maximum volume to hear the engines roar, it kind of gave me sweet satisfaction to hear it.
Yes that was the time back then. But it wont happening again. Read something interesting about formula Renault that they all use same engine only every team has to work with his own aerodynamic. This is interesting cuz in this championship driver skill is the key for win besides good team.

F1 race driver skill not impoartant
first important is car package, is good car can easy to win in race, and get world championship
if same car, skill is important to win

Hey in F1 the car is indeed important but so is driver skill Ferrari has the fastest car but Hamilton has the skills, give Hamilton a Ferrari and you won't be able to catch him ever. I'm not sure about same car policy this is something I'll have to read and find out.

@slocker. That is what we always ask for. I hope the next season will be better. But it never becomes better, it has been becoming worse.

The sport has become a yearly season long commercial for the teams' sponsors and the constructors while using an outward appearance of competition.

I know what you mean. Still hope dies last. Now that it is more commercial for the teams sponsors rather then race its self, but I still hope for something better. Dont think to change the rules but i miss old days. Maybe we will see some day that this will change, more like to be DTM or WTCC or ETCC. They have some rules for winner that his car have 20kg extra. Dont want this to see in F1 but something that will be for all team to be partially equal or something this close. I know that this mostly depend from team budget but yet it could be very interesting to see this as optional rule.

Yet another racing weekend has passed. For me better was motogp race. Until last corner it was unbelievable who will win the race. Last few races for me are better in motogp rather then in formula 1. In F1 we have one of favorites to lead and win the race, hope that next season will bring little more excitement into this.

Japan GP was really boring and I regret that I wake up so early to watch it. Hamilton won race easily and his advantage against Vettel is huge already. I think it will be not very interesting to watch upcoming few races when we already know who will become champion.
I only don't understand why Verstappen didn't got penalty after collision with Vettel. He closed doors and didn't left enough place for Vettel, IMO he had to get time penalty.

after jaan GP hamilton leading 77 point from vettel
only need 23 point again hamilton can win again in F1 world championship

I'm surprised you woke up to see the race, despite it being clear Vettel won't be able to catch up and Hamilton is now the champion, even though he'll be a given the trophy later. In my personal opinion Vettel had seemed to give up from last few races, as the huge lead Hamilton has over him definitely messed up with his mind. I'm not seeing the next few races in full, will watch it in parts as the champion is already decided.
Probably I will watch these few last races in this season, no matter that fight for champion title ended. And yeah, seems that Vettel give up already. I read comments of Vettel and Arrivabene and they are really pesimistic about Frerarri recent results.

It is never beautiful to see an overtake that has come from a team order but if I go back in time I see Ferrari has used it much more often than Mercedes has so I only feel sorry for Valteri today.

I think Totto Wolf could have done well even if he did not give a team order because Lewis is in a comfortable position and he will win the Championship for sure. The few remaining race tracks favour Mercedes more than Ferrari so I think Totto Wolf could have done well even without a team order which I am sure have upset many persons today.

They will not take the risk of Sebastian closing in on Lewis's points because the lead is not big enough. Also, some of these formula 1 drivers are spoiled prima donnas. If they do not get what they want, they will threaten to leave or talk to the news media on how unhappy they are of their team.

Toto Wolff was smart to give the team order hehehehe.

Yeah, team orders isn't a new thing in F1. And I agree that it wasn't really needed today. Lewis already had big advantage against Vettel in drivers championship and it wasn't crucial race today. He probably would win championship even by finishing in 2nd position today, the gap between him and Seb is too big when only 5 races left. Now these team orders just left salty taste in mouth for most of us after race.

It'll be interesting to see if Bottas can go on to win the race, considering team Mercedes will be more keen to see Hamilton win it, I don't expect Ferrari to win this race too, it seems Mercedes are now going to dominate spot 1 and spot 2, I'm really looking to see the strategy adopted by team Ferrari to counter them. I do hope Vettle offers some competition other wise it'll be a one sided race only.
Bottas had great start, he was leading the race, but then Totto Wolf told him to pass Lewis. These team orders ruined this race. And now we can say that Lewis is champion of 2018 season. The fight for title ended.
And I think that Ferarri had good strategy today. They overtook Hamilton by making earlier pit stop, but later Lewis just been faster on the track.
And amazing performance by Verstappen on his birthday - from P19 to P5. He gained so many positions just in few laps!

@swogerino. For some time? Are you implying that he has been treated badly for years now? I reckon it only started in the middle of the season of 2017 and then more so on this season. But he was not openly treated badly.

@slocker. Sebastian's championship battle is finished, I reckon. They have made many strategic mistakes, some of it driver mistakes, and wasted their good start of the season.

On this race, we should watch Charles Leclerc versus Esteban Ocon, 2 young drivers and with Max not very far behind hehehe. I predict Max will overtake both and finish in the top 5.
