The Silver Arrows still have the advantage over Ferrari it seems like.  Even with the new rules, the engine advantage that Mercedes has is just too tough to overcome.

Australian GP Qualifying Times

1 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 1:22.188
2 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1:22.456
3 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 1:22.481
4 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 1:23.033
5 Max Verstappen Red Bull 1:23.485
6 Romain Grosjean Haas 1:24.074
7 Felipe Massa Williams 1:24.443
8 Carlos Sainz Toro Rosso 1:24.487
9 Daniil Kvyat Toro Rosso 1:24.512
10 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull no time
11 Sergio Perez Force India 1:25.081
12 Nico Hulkenberg Renault 1:25.091
13 Fernando Alonso McLaren 1:25.425
14 Esteban Ocon Force India 1:25.568
15 Marcus Ericsson Sauber 1:26.465
16 Antonio Giovinazzi Sauber 1:26.419
17 Kevin Magnussen Haas 1:26.847
18 Stoffel Vandoorne McLaren 1:26.858
19 Lance Stroll Williams 1:27.143
20 Jolyon Palmer Renault 1:28.244

It looks like another nail in the coffin of Mclaren-Honda Reunion with these times. If it is true that the potential of the mercedes engine is far ahead of the competition this will be another boring F1 Championship to watch but maybe it will be good for gamblers as there will be high odds for the non favorites and I remember it was a race last year which finished with Fernando Alonso fastest lap of the race, the odd for this was 100.

Remember that but was hopping to see from Renault they were good in testing but seem when real thing is they drop out, good to see finally more competitive Ferrari this season and hopping to see them fight trough the end of this race tomorrow.

Hamilton is the clear favorite for this race and the world of F1 but in the first race of the season anything can happen.
The quote of Vettel at@7 is really intriguing.

Yup.  Looks like a lot of value.  At what sports betting site did you get these lines?  Some of the bookies have closed any betting for now.  Maybe they're waiting for qualifying or something.

Great timefor Vinales!
He wants  immediately to send a signal to his rivals who will be one of the favorites to win the world championship this year

I think marc vinales can first candidate world champhionship this season
can batle with march marques, about lorenzo i think stil can't competitive with ducati, rossi gan follow batle championship if the early season run much collect point

Maverick can win , but he fall on 2d free session , for the Championship I think Márquez is first candidate.

Hamilton is already the fastest but the Ferrari confirmed to be very competitive and perhaps ahead of the Red Bull

I have a very good feeling about Ferrari winning in qualifying. Sebastian is known to excel in it when he has a fast car because the lines he takes are almost perfect compared to the rest of the field. If that does happen and Lewis is no. 2, then I will bet for Lewis to win the race for better odds. He is very aggressive when driving from behind.

Vettel is very clean when driving but this is not enough to make it to first in qualifying. Most of the times it has been Lewis Hamilton the first after the qualifying because he drives more aggressively and even though he gets through the bumps of the turn sometimes in the end this style of driving have always paid off in the end. Can't wait for first race I will bet for RedBull to be winners of the race because voices are running they have some hidden potential not shown yet in the tests.

Well this may be true but think that for pole will be battle big one Hamilton  and Vettel  will fight for it.
Its hard for it to pick winner but for change it would be good to see Ferrari.

The we will have to see what happens in the qualifying itself. In qualifying with a good car Sebastian has always the edge. Also do not forget that Ferrari is still hiding its true pace if Lewis' speculation is true.

Adrian Newey already said that after the first 4 days of testing. He clearly stated that we had not shown our full potential and we may have something to show in the next test. Analysts said this is done in order for the team to not be copied by other teams. This will give them a slight advantage in the beginning of the Championship. Meanwhile McLaren Honda misery seems to go on still.

what this now andrian newey join in mclaren again
after develop redbull and get 4 wolrd champironship(sebastian vettel) and win constructor
but i think need long time can mclaren to good car again, because honda machine still not competitive in F1

Absolutely agreed on this statement. Think that they will develop this car and engine this year and then they will be competitive for next season or from middle of this one its hard to tell but for me after all this testing think that Renault did excellent job and they will sure be competitive. Anyway race is this weekend and think that we all want to see how it will be.

You mean Honda? If yes then I have to disagree with you entirely. After this season McClaren might request for their contract with them to be terminated. I was mentioned that their contract contained a clause that if Honda is not doing a good job it can be used as a right for a request for a closure of their deal. They will surely go back to the boardroom for some talks but I do not think McClaren will be talked into having another partnership with Honda again.

@Cereberus. Yes. While I am excited about the Ferrari's pace, I speculate the Redbulls will be a surprise in Australia this weekend. Adrian Newey is the best engineer in Formula 1 and he will have some new tricks coming with the new rules and new car specifications.
