Maybe the rumor of Mercedes using oil burning to boost speed during qualifying is not true. Then maybe Ferrari has also learned how to use it. I speculate the start of the Ferrari dominance. Sebastian Vettel with a good and balanced car in qualifying will seldom lose during race day. This season will start to look like his days in Redbull for Sebastian.

Some F1 NEWS

McLaren racing director Eric Boullier has rejected the claim from former Formula 1 team owner and current TV pundit Eddie Jordan that a deal has been struck to return to Mercedes engines for the 2018 season. McLaren ended its long-running partnership with Mercedes at the end of 2014 in favour of rekindling its famed partnership with Honda from the 1980s and early '90s, only for on-track results to take a hit amid ongoing reliability and performance issues. McLaren has been linked with a return to Mercedes power units for 2018 as its partnership with Honda remains strained, with Jordan claiming in Channel 4's coverage ahead of Russian Grand Prix qualifying that a deal has already been agreed.

What from this is true or false we will find out in next couple of week but evidently Honda is not that dominate power like in late 80s and early 90s

It looks that that fight for drivers championship title will be very interesting and this is what we waited for years. Hamilton got 5 second penalty but it was only him and his team fault. And still, Vettel was faster today even without this penalty. Also, Safety car helped a bit for Vettel. I'm disappointed that Ricciardo lost many positions after safety car left track, because I believed that he can fight for podium today.
Also, it's very sad to see Alonso in poor Mclaren car, he even can't reach finnish. I understant why he choose to race in Indy 500 instead of Monaco GP.

I hope he can win Indy 500. He said in press release that he will re-attempt Indy 500 again next year if this year he can't win (which is almost impossible). He will aim for triple crown (holding Lemans 24h, Indy 500 and F1 title)

^ Agreed.  But it still makes me wish I made a bet on Vettel to be on pole at qualifying.  There was a line up to almost 6.00 on him.  Didn't pull the trigger tho.  I had some straight losses in the UFC and the EPL last weekend and during the midweek fixtures.

Anyway here's the FP3 timesheet.  Quali is going on now too.

FP3 Timesheet:

1 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1:34.001
2 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 1:34.338 0.337
3 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 1:34.364 0.363
4 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 1:34.542 0.541
5 Max Verstappen Red Bull 1:35.452 1.451
6 Felipe Massa Williams 1:35.471 1.47
7 Nico Hulkenberg Renault Sport 1:35.662 1.661
8 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull 1:35.830 1.829
9 Carlos Sainz Toro Rosso 1:36.164 2.163
10 Kevin Magnussen Haas 1:36.556 2.555
11 Lance Stroll Williams 1:36.649 2.648
12 Esteban Ocon Force India 1:36.676 2.675
13 Daniil Kvyat Toro Rosso 1:36.846 2.845
14 Fernando Alonso McLaren 1:36.869 2.868
15 Sergio Perez Force India 1:36.962 2.961
16 Romain Grosjean Haas 1:37.164 3.163
17 Stoffel Vandoorne McLaren 1:37.182 3.181
18 Marcus Ericsson Sauber 1:37.503 3.502
19 Pascal Wehrlein Sauber 1:37.657 3.656
20 Jolyon Palmer Renault Sport no time

Edit:  Q2 just ended.  Bottas is first followed by Raikonnen then Hamilton for the top three.  Hmmm...

Edit:  And it's a Ferrari one - two with Vettel and Raikonnen in the front line tomorrow!  Will post official results of quali as soon as its posted online.

Edit:  Thanks to Dux for posting below.  Smiley  Ferrari is no hype.

How true are the rumors that Mercedes is having problems with pace for this grand prix? Also, how could that be true if nothing big has changed since the race at Bahrain? Maybe Toto Wolff is playing mind games to give Sebastian Vettel false confidence during qualifying.

Im looking forward Fernando Alonso's Indycar venture. He has been scammed again by his team delivering him a car that looks great, but performs like a GP car. So he got tired of the bullshit and now he's going to try to achieve things outside of Formula 1. Im looking forward to this more than F1. Alonso is one of the best pilots if not the best in F1 and he is not performing due the car.

Reading some reports right now and at first didnt know for what was Rossi given a penalty but i saw it just now this 0.3 sec of penalty is funny but in this case should be punished and Zarco but this is racing and in motosport they will go pass that while line all the time but this one is very funny decision. Never the less great performance from Marques this is surely his track and can be said other to him good for championship race that he won and reduce the gap now when they start racing in Europe really fun begins.

Motogp standings after 3 races:

Rossi        56
Vinales     50
Marquez   38
Dovizioso  30
Crutchlow 29
Pedrosa    27
Zarco       22
Folger      21
Redding   21
Miller       21
Petrucci   17
Bautista   14
Lorenzo    12

Yes, with these premises the European races will be very entertaining.
Congratulations to Valentino Rossi (38 years old), he is always competitive.
He deserves to win the 10th world championship in his career.

Rumors has been going around that Mercedes has been 'burning oil' to boost speed and give them an edge in qualifying.  In fact Red Bull raised this concern over to the FIA and the latter vowed to clamp down on its use.  But when?  Until they finally get to the bottom of it expect Hamilton or Bottas to have the edge over the rest at Q3 in every event.

Anyway, it's another racing weekend (thank God).  This time in Russia.  Let's see how the colder temperatures affect the teams.  Especially Ferrari which have been doing better in warmer climates.

Marquez has always won in the United States and must win to retrieve points in the standings. He is the big favorite

I agree with you this is maybe last opportunity for Honda to win if they lose or both drivers fall then i can say that this season is over for them. I will go for win on Marques and will test my luck on this race, expect to see them battle all the way.

in america series, honda is very competitive
you can see result pedroasa in free practice 1 - 4 is good too, in Fp4 repsol honda is one two, first marques and secondplaced pedrosa
but i think this race can batle win beetween marques vs vinales

Marquez has always won in the United States and must win to retrieve points in the standings. He is the big favorite

He may be favorite but remember that both Hondas got crashes and i just hope they will finish the race and if we look at statistics they marques have big change for win.
