Did you watch it already? Is it hitting all major theaters or just limited release (like a lot of festival movies)?

No. I don't want to download the movie using torrent. Can't trust anyone nowadays. They will say that you broke the internet piracy rules and will slap you with a million dollar fine. I will wait for some more time.

Its been floating around the internet for a few days I think. I haven't checked it out though, have been too busy watching playoff basketball.

Whoopsidaisies! That is true. The film hasn't yet been released, and the 1080 p. Blu-Ray Rip is already available from the major torrent sites. The film crew as well as the producer is going to be extremely pissed with it.

Has anyone seen "How We Got Away With It?"  I havent seen any reviews,  but the cover looks as though it received a lot of film festival accolades.

How We Got Away with It is not yet released. The releasing date is scheduled at 13 May 2014 (USA). It won the award for the Best Feature - Thriller film in Bare Bones International Film Festival 2013.

Another movie I saw recently that was better than expected is Submarine -- sort of a coming of age film. It's on netflix streaming.

Just finished watching the new RoboCop movie, thought that it was pretty good. Couldn't help but think of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones each time that I saw Maddox with his helmet on lol.

lincoln won awards and had lots of buzz. it's not that he's necessarily slipped, it's just that he hasn't been really directing many films lately. he has directed 12 films since 2000.

I thought Lincoln was okay but felt it was somewhat overrated.

Not related to Spelberg, I just saw Philomena. It was a pretty good movie.

What do you define as a hit though? I haven't really loved one of his films in over a decade, but I'm pretty sure they've all done very well at the box office.

Some of them did OK at the box-office. But most of his recent films were just average (with the exception of Men in Black 3). For example, Cowboys & Aliens collected less than its budget expenses from the box-office.

I've seen neither, but he didn't direct either of them but was just a producer. I'm sure he didn't have that much input on them s well. Producers tend to very rarely do much on films these days and are just attatched to put a big name on them and collect a nice little paycheck for doing nothing much at all.

when was spielberg's last smash hit? i don't remember him doing anything of note in, say, the past 10 years.

edit: forgot he did lincoln. it was a fairly good hit.. but i found it boring as hell.

He is already 67 years old, well past his prime. He was the executive producer of Men in Black 3 (2012), which collected more than $600 million in the box-office. Other than that, not much to speak of recently. Films such as The Adventures of Tintin, War Horse, and Cowboys & Aliens were dull and boring. Well... I am watching out for Jurassic World, which will be releasing next year.  Grin

E.T. Was probably Spielberg's last hit lol. That was Spielberg right?

You're going back quite far there. He's had plenty of 'hits' since. It's not like any of his films have done poorly at the box office.

I know, it was slight sarcasm, but no other hits came quickly to my mind
