Has anyone seen "That Awkward Moment?"  Looked prefty fnny while it was in the theaters.

It got panned by the critics. Haven't seen even the trailer though.

Panned is putting it nicely. It got absolutely annihilated by critics: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/that_awkward_moment/

I'll still watch it though. People seem to have enjoyed it somewhat from the audience reviews. I'm sure there'll be a couple of laughs in it and the critics were probably being overly harsh like they usually are with these types of comedies.

So I just watched The Awkward Moment. It was shit. Not worst film of all time shit, but really pretty shitty in almost every aspect. Piss-weak plot and dialogue, really shit ending, and most important for a comedy, next to zero laughs. Laughed out loud once during the whole film. It's really one of those films where you wonder how it ever made it past just being another shitty script.

when was spielberg's last smash hit? i don't remember him doing anything of note in, say, the past 10 years.

edit: forgot he did lincoln. it was a fairly good hit.. but i found it boring as hell.

I don't think he's done anything amazing in over a decade, but one of my personal favourites of his is Minority Report and I think that's the last one I loved. I haven't seen it in a few years so it might be time to give it another blast.

Now various movies just pay him to put his name as co-director or co-producer.
His name alone brings in a lot of money for the movies.
I'm not sure how much work he actually does these days.

It was a good war movie... but I had problems with the duration. The movie is almost 3 hours long... difficult to finish in one go. But still, one of the best works by Steven Spielberg to date.

i usually don't have the patience to sit through the same movie twice. i get bored really quick.

I think that if you give it a few years then watching a movie again can be quite satisfying, especially when you pick up on things that you didn't the first time around.

Really enjoyed watching Apocalypto the second time around, mostly because I missed the first 20-25 minutes the first time around haha.

Apocalypto is very brutal movie, but nice movie.

yeah the quaalude scene had me laughing too. it's the funniest thing scorcese/leo have done, so it wasn't expected.

btw, jordan belfort sounds like a sociopath. he's a "motivational speaker" now, which just means he collects money from naive people for speaking and making them feel good about themselves.

SPOILER ALERT  Tongue  for anyone who has not watched it yet .

Not really seeing the actual spoiler though as it is based around Jordan's rise and decline.

Best scenes are those which involve Jordan's father. That telephone ringing reaction...

You make me want to watch it again

I am going to get the movie and watch it again!

i think clint's movie was just called "unforgiven."

Yeah, but he could still be saying that one since he started his sentence with 'The' so it's not clear. Technically movie titles should be put in italics though and this would avoid confusion.
