everyone talks about fight club as well, though i'm not sure it's held with the same esteem as shawshank.. pretty close though.
I love David Fincher movies, and love Fight Club, but it's not even in the same stratosphere as Shawshank.

Life is Beautiful, its on netflix, it made me laugh and cry harder than almost any movie I've ever seen. It deserves the hype
The shawshank redemption is worth seeing.
I have watched it at least 5 times. At first, when my friend recommended this movie to me, I asked him about its duration. When he told me that it is almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, I decided not to watch it. However, after 2 years from that date, my cousin gifted me some 20-30 movie DVDs and this was one of them. Watched it when I had finished all the other DVDs. Despite its duration, I never felt any lag and the movie kept me at the edge of my seat 90% of the time. Till this day, I rate it as one of the best movies I have ever watched.
