Hi there M - I am using 3.12.0-1 for my CG Miner,

is there anything preventing me from using the program?

just 3.3 still erroring, i read that someone was having success with 3.1 is there a downloading area to get the older version or will u be making a newer one soon ?

regards

hawk

I don't think the cgminer version matters so much, it's the firmware version.  I've tested it with the last 2 versions of the firmware, haven't tested the latest yet, or the earliest.  I also upgraded cgminer to 3.6.0 and my code continues to work.

What version are you using?

I'll be getting a "S3+" soon (from batch 9).  I'm knee deep in my UI changes, the next version will likely contain the UI changes and support "S3+".

The link I provided above has a FAQ I believe that shows you how.

My S1 is turned off atm else I'd look.

M

It's not what I meant..
I know how to upgrade...

Just don't want to do it without knowing if I already have the latest firmware..
Don't want to mess with it for nothing as it's always risky...

and I'm a kind of person that believes that if it's not broken, don't fix it
and my miners hash very well and stable....

however I like the utility of Your soft and would love to fully profit from it's features

The readme.pdf in the link above describes how to find out what firmware version you're using.

M

me bad..

I didn't read that file...thx for your patience Wink
Just updated and now no more error

thx

Hey I really like your soft.

I'm getting this error:

Code:
[b]ERROR when querying S1:1.222:80 (step 1): Error reading JObject from JsonReader. Path '', line 0, position 0.[/b]

Do You know what causes this ?

Is it an S1, or an S3 labeled as an S1?

Are you using the most recent firmware for it?

M

S1...however I don't know how to check the firmware version....
is it the
Kernel Version   3.10.12 ??

I think the important thing is the date.  Have you ever upgraded the firmware?  See here:

https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140411033846942qQqjOD460695

M

I got them used....they hash well and without issue....
I don't want to change firmware just to change and even without knowing that I already might have the latest...

there must be a way of checking the version out....I just don't know where and how...

S2 and S3 units.  As long as I only select three or less to update, all works fine.  And I can go through and select three at a time until I cover all my ants, but I can never get more than browser instance 0, 1 and 2 in the status log if I select four or more ants to poll.  Only the first three in the checkbox list are polled.

When I am polling ants via web, I can only get three to respond.  The log will say "browser instance 0" "browser instance 1" "browser instance 2" but that's all I get.  Selecting any three ants in my list will populate the results of those ants, but on the fourth ant selected and beyond it will only show the first three in the selection list on the status page.  I have tried v 33 and v 34b1, same issue.  Can't get the API to respond properly as I have multiple versions of ants on the same network.  Thoughts?

It's quite possible there's something wrong with my code that causes it to only check up to 3.  I'll have to look.  (I only have 3.)

What versions of the API are you using?

M

I'm not using the API setting; web scrape only.

Yes, you said you don't use the API because you have multiple versions of ants on the same network.  Which versions?

I applied cgminer 4.6.0 to my S3, and everything still works.  I'm using firmware dated 'Thu Aug 7 10:56:26 CST 2014'.

What's different between yours and mine?

M

I can look ay mine later tonight to see, from what I remember it was saying cgmijnwr version was 3.12.0

if you just take the returned JSON string and do a replace on "}{" with "},{" it'll fix the returned JSON.

also the "stats" command returns an array of stats like before, except the 0 is some weird stats that no one cares about and 1 is the info we're wanting, before 0 was the good stuff

so if you just return the second object in that array you'll get the info ya need.

That's what I had to do with the 2nd to last firmware to get it to work.  Doesn't make sense why the current one doesn't.

Do you need another one  Wink Wink Grin Grin happy to loan you again  Grin Grin

with the latest cgminer, i've noticed a significant upspeed in the webgui, much faster response. my hash rates are settling down too, not bouncing around so much.

I've got the money, I just can't find any at reasonable prices!  And I can't stand bitmain's pre-orders. Sad Sad Sad

comes back with - 13/09/2014 1:22:20 p.m.: ERROR when querying S3:1.101:80 (step 1): After parsing a value an unexpected character was encountered: {. Path 'STATS[0]', line 1, position 180.

please help have i done something wrong?

The API output from the S3s is, at best, malformed IMHO.  As I posted in the S3 thread, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the API output changes enough with the "real" cgminer that it breaks my monitor.

The problem I have is I currently have one S3.  It's difficult for me to support all the varying configurations out there all at once.  It seems that these are all different for S3:

- the very most recent firmware from bitmain, the one that the hash didn't match the posted one
- the one before that one (has malformed JSON output)
- the one before that one (has output from one API call mixed in with another)
- cgminer 4.6

I've got the middle two covered right now.  I'm going to try to add support for cgminer, and then the most recent firmware as soon as I get confirmation from someone that it's legit.  It's awkward with one S3, and I'll be an unhappy camper if I brick it. Sad

M

the json returned from the stats called is invalid. its missing a , and they also changed the structure of the returned data.

i just got my batch 8 s3s today. and can confirm its not right.,check out the cgminer sticky thread. i have it posted there. ill post the specific stats json difference when i get back on my dev comp
