I'm using ASrock H81 with G1840 and 8GB Ram.
But not noticed real difference in my case.

By the way, how many GPU can I put in a H81 without Risers ?
I have a free H81 empty, and looking to make a cheap RIG with it and maybe some Rx470.
I hope it's not too late to ROI this one.

The H81 has only one X16 slot. It has 5 X1 slot. So you have to buy 5 risers to make it an efficient system.

I also have virtual memory set at 32000-64000 on all rigs.

I made the change , following your "how to" post, but didn't notice any change in hashrate.
What should I expect setting virtual memory to 32k-64k ?
Thank you

maybe no difference at all.

it uses vm  when:

 A)  your system ram is small like a 4gb ram stick
 B) your system cpu is weak like a pentium g1840 in an asrock h81 mobo

@GabryRox  my numbers are for 4 rigs with 15 cards

So  when I had the pentium in my asrock h81 with a single 4gb stick  adding the vm did a small boost 2-4%
When and I still do have an i3 in my biostar z170a it adds a little boost.

claymore 5 uses more power.  8.7 amps at 240 volts  doing 1.1k H/s

is now 9.2  amps at 240 volts doing 1.7k H/s  but this is with -i 2

I am switching to -i 1  today.

Latest version v5.0:

- improved speed by about 30-50% (depends on card model). About 145H/s on stock 390X.
- improved support for Catalyst 16.x and 4xx cards.
- reduced CPU usage.

GET IT WHILE IT IS HOT

Hey Aries... what kind of bump did you get on your MSI 470 rig using v5.0?  over 100 H/s now I would assume?

Could you also tell me what effect v5 had (if any) power draw and GPU temps?  I am managing my rig remotely so i need to be careful with changes as I only have someone checking it for crashes twice a day and don't want to risk long down-times or really even get it running too hot while I am away.  With V4 my GPUs were running about 59-60 degrees with minimal fan usage.

Thanks for any results you can share!

over night results using -i 2

best rig  at 119H/s is the asus z170a using an i5 6500t

worst rig at 108H/s is the biostar z170a using an i3 6300t

the asrock h81 is at 113 H/s using an intel i5 4570s

the asrockz170 extreme 3 is at 115 H/s using an i7 6700t

What does it all mean? I suspect to run at -i 2  you need an i5  .

I also have virtual memory set at 32000-64000 on all rigs.

whats the max number for 480?

I'm getting 125 H/s with modded cards
And 125 H/s with original BIOS

So no worries on mods
Modded 8GB 480s does 130-140
Some of mine do 133-134

less than optiminer for linux, or at least not better.
linux allows to switch seemlessly. my win 10 rig restarts periodically, which is annoying.
optiminer is absolutely a beast on old cards, like r7 370

I have R7-370s in my test rig, with v5 .... its 60 H/s ... this is crazy for a such a low end card!

Meanwhile, a 4xNano rig on Biostar Z170, after 9 hours with v5, 621 H/s !!!
PCI Slot #0 Nano is posting at 171 H/s !!!

I got about 70-73 H/s with Optiminer (vs Claymore's 60 H/s) for R7 370 on Ubuntu.
Will see if it is stable overnight
Five card rig=350-370 H/s

IMHO, the extra 10-13 h/s, I think doesnt justify the 15% dev fee that Optiminer charges.

60 on Claymore, then 2.5% fee is subtracted
74 on Optiminer AFTER fee is subtracted.
Which one is better for my pocket?
I would say the latter for 25% more.

Besides, It would be a nightmare for me to run a multitude of windows as i would have to pay for all those licenses.
yes, many people here don't care and run Windows not activated (basically, pirated).
I am not going to do this and as a result prefer open sourced Linux.

you got a point there Biodom  Wink

I am a newbie in Linux and have started dabbling on Ubuntu for months now - slowly getting there and finally I got ethOS like build on a fast thumbdrive and thats all I need to run Claymore ETH miner for at least half of the farm headless and HDDless, SSDless.....

... now on the matter of ZEC, if given the chance going Linux is ideal just like the scenario above.... but after the v1.1 Linux drama, going to Optiminer will mean losing all my "ethman" monitoring, dashboards and controls.... I don't mind those giving up those flashing ethman alerts if I have 3-4 rigs.... but managing 28 rigs is a real headache if you don't have the monitoring and dashboard controls. Claymore's monitoring utility is pretty slick and it can report 3 coins at the same time, ETH, XMR and ZEC...

Yeah but the dev fee is included with the numbers so it is still faster on the pool.

It was way faster than anything else for 2 days.

If that dev reduces the fee then it could in theory remain the king, as he has more sols to work with.

GET IT WHILE IT IS HOT

I got boost from 700H/s to 1100H/s

Claymore is doing fantastic work

I think finally reach the max of RX 480s

whats the max number for 480?

with v5, i am 115-125 range, but then again the 480 has a modded BIOS not stock.

the 390s are doing well with v5, 140-148 easy

the Nanos are also performing like a champ, I have a Nano that is posting 175 but getting 84c at 99% fan

Got the 470s up to 100-110h/s
Total watts is around 660-680 at the wall
Now if the price will bump up a little

I am pushing 1.8k H/s  four rigs  19 cards.

and I am using -1 0

will go to -i 2

Phil,

Let us know

I tried -i 2 - that was substantial drop in hash power

also power consumption and heat should be more since its "maximal intensity" as per Claymore.

-i 0 or default seems like the magic switch

Claymore 5 is real winner, easy 50% boost but all that extra hash will catch up and level out earnings.

The real surprise is that my 470 cards perform just as well as my 290 cards and my 7950 under performs the 470 by just 10 sol/s where it was out performing it in v4.
