As far as I remember Stephen Gornick had some success running it on BB, but there were also some shortcomings (don't remember which).

The minor inconveniences in running on BB10, ... detailed here.

And yes, ... backup was one of the issues I described.

I would instead create the private key offline, turn it into a QR code and import it into the wallet

That was the workaround I have used.

The only pain point I have is learning about a new response to my trade offer with Local Trader.  Right now I hear a beep -- that's it.  There's no interaction with BlackBerry Hub like I would get if there was a new WhatsApp message, for instance.  Of course, that's because it is an Android app with no access to BlackBerry notifications system (at least not yet, 10.3 will: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2014/05/new-beta-of-the-blackberry-runtime-for-android-apps-now-available, and also Android apps can use the Blackberry 10's sharing framework as well.  So the Mycelium backup feature will probably work with 10.3 when that becomes available.).

But even with that, whether I use Android or Blackberry, ... it probably would be nice if I were able to get an e-mail or text message notification that I received a new response to a trade ad.  All I need to know is that I should launch the app and check my Active Trades.

Thanks Stephen.
Andreas has been working on email notifications during the last week  Wink ... and I am really looking forward to this myself (I am using both iPhone and Android).

There is probably going to be a release before we add email notifications with this:
1. Replace the trader age in the top of ads with the time since last activity (you can still see the trader age by clicking Info)

2. Show the price of an ad while editing/creating it

3. Notify traders when an ad is about to time out (currently after 60 days)

4. Remove the "Buying Bitcoins Near" / "Selling Bitcoins Near" title

5. Make trade chat NOT full screen (so you can see your network status)

6. Show fiat amount value when showing Sending/Receiving in the main balance view
7. Japanese translation
The above is currently available in the beta channel

Using Mycelium on a Blackberry Q5 and when I try to do a backup, it creates the PDF file, but when I try and attach it to an email (The only way sharing happens), it isn't attached and I can't find it.

Does anyone know where to find the pdf file it creates?
We have never really tested Mycelium on BB (partly because we don't have one). As far as I remember Stephen Gornick had some success running it on BB, but there were also some shortcomings (don't remember which). On android the available as 'share targets'  depend on the android apps you have installed that accept files (having dropbox installed gives you a drop box target). How that translates to BB I don't know, but you could try to install a different email program or some other file sharing apps.

If you cannot make the backup work on BB, I would instead create the private key offline, turn it into a QR code and import it into the wallet (go to the Keys tab and click the + button and then Scan). And then finally get rid of the private key that was initially created by the wallet.

You can only reach the folder if your phone is rooted. It's buried in the data folder under mycelium app's data.

Hi Guys,

just wanted to tell you that the Mycelium Wallet is now in use at the first Bitcoin accepting Cafe & Bar in Vienna.

German Thread:

English Thread:

Nice!
I am attending the conference in Vienna this weekend, but unfortunately the bar seems not to be open for the general public on saturdays Huh and closed entirely on sundays

Hi Jan,
yes, usually it is closed on Saturdays.
Except if someone wants to do a private party there (birthdays etc.).

I can't announce for now - but the owners of the Bar could MAYBE decide short termed,
based on tonights reactions and the answers of the cebexpo PR person that we're in contact with,
that they will open up tomorrow, too.
I will keep you up to date as soon as a decision is made.

I've also met Andreas a few weeks ago at the Metalab and sent him a PM about tonights "event",
but I guess he is very busy at the moment.

We have the world map with all ads here: http://www.mycelium.com/lt/m

It took me a little bit to figure out the difference between the "green" colored (Bitcoin logo) map markers and the normal "gold" colored (Bitcoin logo) map markers.  After looking at the ads I noticed that the Buy ads are green, the sell ads are gold.

Is there a way to get a map legend displayed to explain the two different marker types?
Good idea, also, I'd like to have the ability to select which ad types to display, adding it to the list

Yes. You have to upload the Bitcoin applet to a spare Yubikey applet slot. It's similar to how you use the Yubikey with the GPG applet I believe. What I don't know is how exactly you interact with the Yubikey once it's installed. AFAIK you can't have PGP, the normal Yubikey stuff AND Btcoin applet at the same time since there are only 2 slots... on a Neo anyway... I think.

I think at the moment you need to be a programmer to interact with it:
http://opensource.yubico.com/yubico-bitcoin-java/apidocs/com/yubico/bitcoin/api/YkneoBitcoin.html

To be perfectly honest I'm a non programmer in the main and I'm just hoping to bring some attention to it. That code would be a great addition either to Myceilium or as a standalone app.

If anyone's reading this and has a Gox key, Gox kindly locked the keys so you need to crack the pin to do something like this. I bet all the pins are the same so hopefully someone can crack it and share... and probably legally so since the company is no more (bankruptcy email out today)

First of all, a massive thanks for a great app! Great appS!

I saw this:
https://github.com/Yubico/yubico-bitcoin-java

Yubico-bitcoin-java-android allows using a Yubikey as a Bitcoin wallet via NFC and a Yubikey Neo. I guess this would be better off as a separate project in which case this is offtopic... but there is currently no interface for it.

Possibly offtopic if you feel this is not a good idea to have this in the advanced section of Mycelium... but this really seemed like the best place to mention it.

interesting project. do you have any technical background info on how that "applet" works? do you somehow upload a BIP32 implementation to the yubikey? i don't understand it fully yet.

Your trader account is just a name and a bitcoin address, which has a number of ads associated with it. The ads have a geographical location associated with them, but as you can enter any location nobody really knows whether you have ever been there, let alone who you really are.

Alright, I've made an ad long time ago so didn't checked location change option. Will check it now, thanks.

Enjoy.
Thank you Henry for publishing this, it was great meeting you at the conference.
I normally think that I sound stupid on videos, but this must be one of my good days Grin

If you don't want to watch the whole thing you should at least see the interesting announcement at 11 minutes.

Don't you think this shouldn't be public http://mycelium.com/lt/m/data/ads.xml
I mean users should be able to see only their nearby traders.
Why not? Its published for others to see, so its public by definition.
Probably because I do not wanted to show everyone my nearest longitude and latitude data except local traders who are in my city.

In the same way other traders can enter any location to search from without ever having visited that area. So in the end the data can be retrieved anyway, and by making it available in one easy query we believe that we make that more transparent.
