The way sars officials police arrest young people is for no reason is alarming. Just yesterday, w friend boarded a cab home on the way they were stopped by police. First he was accused as a yahoo boy, they searched his phone and found binance and trust wallet. They transferred his money from his trust wallet to an address. They couldn't transfer from binance because of 2FA. So guys stay woke! Crypto/forex trading us criminal in the eyes of Police. "They hate what they do not understand"
Did you know that the police are friends to of yahoo boys, I can not say all that I have seen for my account not to be investigated, the police are friends to yahoo. Nobody can just say they are informants when efcc is coming. If you do not know the way in Nigeria, the holy ones will suffer when police and the boys are drinking beer together. Have you seen a police before that stop their car because the boys are walking, they tell the boys why are you not with your car that are you going to this direction. The boys did not enter the car saying this is where I am going to pointed to somewhere in the front they all smiled together. But the one not yahoo will be suffered because he do not know the way.

Have you look up Jumia? You can find some offline wallet there as well there was a link Charles-Tim posted on this thread about jumia selling those Leno and ledger but if the site offers shipping directly to Nigeria then e also make sense, don't worry about custom service I'm sure 98% of have not seen or know the use of it.

I want to order for ledger nano wallet from the ledger nano company directly, is it a good idea? I can see that they can ship the wallet to Nigeria in few days, the wallet is not expensive for me, I want to buy it. What I am fear of now are the custom not to seize the wallet because the cbn ban crypto in nigeria. Is it good idea to order for ledger nano when cbn ban bitcoin.

Thank you

Have you considered the cost of shipping and the delivery duration? I think shipping from far away nations takes minimal 20-25 days to get it shipped to Lagos except you chooses to use Airshippment which is quite expensive. Have you ever seen a case where shipping fees are bigger than material carted?
Yes, I considered the cost. If it is Ledger Nano, there are free shipping for most of their products as I explained above, while the shipping can be set to free but it will truly take longer weeks. If someone is in need of one urgently, the person will like go for the alternative means like buying from Jumia directly in Nigeria which may likely take days too depending on the state the person is reciding. But Ledger Nano S on Jumia is very expensive.

There is a common online store that is frequently used by Nigerians but based in US that always do have these kind of products. See how cheaper the price of Ledger Nano S is on the site including the shipping and the custom fee. For standard shipping, it is ₦7,410 which could take 5-9 business working days while you can still go for express shipping for ₦10,920.00. But it is clearly stated on the site that custom delay might occur whille shipping some items which is normal.

https://www.u-buy.com.ng/product/PEMSNA-ledger-nano-s-the-best-crypto-hardware-wallet-secure-and-manage-your-bitcoin-ethereum-erc20-and-many

Also check it on Amazon but excluding the custom fee, the price is very low.

https://www.amazon.com/Ledger-Nano-Cryptocurrency-Hardware-Wallet/dp/B01J66NF46

I am not using this as a means of encouraging Nigerians to buy from the above sites as they are resellers but just to prove how the price of hardware wallet on Nigeria stores is too much expensive. I will prefer to buy directly from Ledger, prefer free shipping if I order Ledger Nano X, or two or more Ledger nano S. While I can still go for three Ledger Nano S with free shipping for -21% discount.
Thank you

I will order from ledger directly but I am think that sites will be better, Jumia are thieves the price is almost more than double after all the fees are along it.

Also there was a link to konga.com, but I can not see any seller recently on konga selling any hardware wallet for now. The demand for it in Nigeria is very low on Nigerian stores, probably (maybe) Nigerians in need of one are ordering it online directly from the company. Also on Jumia only Trezor Model One and Ledger Nano S are available, but its the price is too expensive than to buy it directly from the company. It is also better to buy directly from Ledger.

Cold wallets usage in Nigeria is extremely low so I see reasons why most of the outlets don't sell it and the ones who were into it before are shifting attention to other products since the demand is low.

You do not need to fear, CBN banned cryptocurrencies, not any arm of Nigerian government. The CBN ban are just restriction of direct transactions between cryptocurrencies and naira, it has nothing to do with importing hardware wallet into the country. On Ledger Nano official site, the custom clearance fee is not included, you will have to pay for that, but it would not not be much.

Buying directly from Ledger
Ledger Nano S on Jumia

Buying directly from the Ledger
Subtotal
₦28,446.31
Shipping (there is free shipping offer of buying Ledger Nano X or more than one Ledger Nano S)
₦8,196.39
Total
₦36,642.70
Excluding Custom fee (which was not expensive for the goods I have bought before)

The price on Jumia (also the price was as this expensive on konga)
₦77500

I won't be indulging in any F2F trades anytime soon. For now, it's just not safe enough to start attempting such trades since the risks far outweighs the benefits.
Very big risk. How would buyers and sellers know they are not even dealing with the CBN informants directly face-to-face. Also how about kidnappers taking advantage of this? Although, naira (fiat) is used as ransom by Kidnappers so far in Nigeria.

If I can't use p2p platforms, I'll resort to selling directly to my friends and close contacts.
Probably the best option, trusted people. Some people are still making use of trusted buyers and sellers that they have known for long on p2p exchanges too.

I was recently arrested in a taxi on my way home just because they saw a crypto app on my phone. I wonder what would happen if they come in when one of these f2f trades are ongoing. Not safe.
Sorry about this. This is what exactly led to EndSARS protest in Nigeria, but Nigerian police have never changed. They like going for young people in good dress that are looking good, thinking he is a Yahoo boy. I hope you were easily set free, I will love to hear the gist.

Especially in our dear country Nigeria where our government is making things very difficult for people, even some kind people wey nor dey run some kind matters before dun dey wan consider am sake of say hinger dey wire them.

If people sef even somehow manage start this F2F trading thing for this country, e dey possible say government go still carry their agents position for the matter, as you meet up to trade you crypto, them dun hold you be that, e dun be for you. E go better one day for our country sure sure.

Other countries have imposed restrictions on crypto, but the way the CBN treats defaulters is something the youth should be aware of; people involved in crypto should not be treated as criminals; we live in a time when having a dating app or crypto wallet on your phone is a big risk; I hope your personal belongings were not taken?

F2f trading will not operate well in Nigeria due to the high degree of insecurity and lawless police; if a large sum of fiat is found on you while trying to execute f2f trade, you may be labeled a kidnapper.

I won't be indulging in any F2F trades anytime soon. For now, it's just not safe enough to start attempting such trades since the risks far outweighs the benefits. Even if F2f model was to work, it can't be at a time like this when CBN has made it look like indulging in cryptocurrencies is illegal and defaulters should be arrested and prosecuted. I was recently arrested in a taxi on my way home just because they saw a crypto app on my phone. I wonder what would happen if they come in when one of these f2f trades are ongoing. Not safe.

I thought what resulted to the decline was the CBN, I do not think it is any face-to-face trading or something. But what do you people think about this, is it not dangerous if there is any trading platform which is encouraging face-to-face p2p trading? I am thinking this can be the beginning of people making (criminals that can elicit physical attack and harm) use of this means to know about Nigerians having bitcoin, visiting their homes, offices or where victims like visiting, to steal from them.

What did you people think about this? For me, I can never involve myself in face-to-face trade of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

This should have been a poll but no local board yet. But I think we can still have ourselves useful information. I just read in a thread created by SatoPrincess about face-to-face trading. We all know how it has been surfaced how CBN are making use of p2p platforms to track Nigerias (I don't know if it is true or rumor), but this has likely resulted to a declined trading volume among Nigerians, probably because of the fear of the CBN.

It will never be a wise idea to review or disclose your assets to a stranger in person to avoid unnecessary attacks. Charles, I agree with you. The rumors about CBN agents infiltrating the p2p platform sparked the so-called F2F trading nonsense, and the rumors about CBN agents breaching the p2p platform were all over the media. I'm not sure how real this is, but it caused a lot of panic on Binance, as several traders went offline and others changed their terms of service on who they would deal with; some even stated that they would not pay kobos but just the actual money to clear suspicious activity. People who fall prey to CBN are those who want to be caught in the first place. The suggested F2F exchange is a major flaw in anonymity and decentralization, which are the foundations of bitcoin. This is even worse than KYC. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except you want to get robbed.

Make we try use our head for some kind Tori for town nobe everything we see we go wan chook head. Comrades make una calm down.

Thanks Charles it will be a foolish thing if one decides to expose him/herself to such dangers. Criminals are just hungry for people to victimize I will not let myself fall into that trap. The country is hard and people will do just about anything to survive.  A friend of mine that runs an online taxi bolt was robbed last week, he was setup by a customer who booked the ride. The rest of the gang were waiting at the set destination...they stole his car, phones and beat him up mercilessly. After such experience how can I trust someone I don't know with my bitcoins and my life?

I go with this idea, the recent moderation really surprised me. All we need is to engage in more constructive and quality discussions.

Ever Wakanda Inu self nobody update. The update no mean say make you invest but atleast make you know whatsup. me I dun go hustle outside.
I saw the coin on Punch when it had increased to over $300%. The market is bearish now, even bitcoin in some hours ago had retraced down to $60540. Wakanda Inu which was at $0.00000030 is now at $0.000000014. It is more centered to a continent (although anyone in the world can invest in it), the reason the coin may remain shitcoin or become dead.

This na wetin I dey talk for mind CryptopreneurBrainboss just knack the matter for head. Na update we need nor be to dey drag which wallet good pass.
All discussions related to cryptocurrencies are welcomed, one does not affect the other.

Also to be sincere enough, I was surprised many other local boards are discussing about the lastest bitcoin softfork, taproot, but nobody brought it up here on this local thread. The discussion would have been more friendly on local boards and threads while yet not lacking quality contents.
