That is very cool. 5 years. Congratulations. I hope for 50 more.

Hello NASTY MINING followers!

This is my first post here but I am not new to NASTY MINING. I participate from the beginning. GLBSE was fun but now it is time to stop pretending to play Wall Street. OgNasty is a great person and the NASTY MINING operation is cool. All of us have fun following and supporting and advising the mining operation in the exciting Bitcoin world. It is time we organize our enthusiasm and efforts for NASTY MINING instead of playing GLBSE.

I know OgNasty for a long time and give technical help sometimes. When GLBSE died I decided to organize the NASTY MINING fans so we continue having fun. I created a website to run a unofficial fanclub. I showed the website and OgNasty said it is very cool. It is still young but I think the other fans will have fun with it also.

OgNasty gives me a copy of the NASTY MINING GLBSE list. I use this to setup fanclub member accounts. But you must activate your account and set a username and passsword. I will send e-mail to you with instructions.

After we convert the GLBSE users to NASTY MINING fanclub members I will open the fanclub to the general public. Then other enthusiastic NASTY MINING supporters can join the fanclub.

I am active in the forum now because I have important resposibilities so we stay together now. I am excited about the new unofficial fanclub. I am excited about NASTY MINING. This is fun!

Happy Birthday to NastyFans!  5 years and running.  It has been one hell of a ride!  I can't wait to see where we are in another 5 years.

Could be considered old news...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5154737/Bitcoin-miner-NiceHash-reports-hack-theft-wallet.html

'$60 MILLION' Bitcoin theft: Hackers steal huge haul as value of the cryptocurrency soars to record high of $15,000

Slovenian bitcoin marketplace NiceHash said its bitcoin wallet was raided

It reported the incident to police and told users to change their passwords

Users shared company's wallet address which showed it had 4,736.42 BTC

Price of bitcoin has surged to over $14,000 gaining $1,000 in less than a day

OG Nasty, how you doing with this?

hacked or embezzling?

It is disturbing.  I think NastyFans was due to receive around a $600 payout from the stolen funds.  I'm waiting out their stated 24 hour downtime to see what sort of statement they will be making and if they will be restoring services.  If not, I may have to look into creating some altcoin wallets and holding LTC/Dash/Monero instead of receiving donations in BTC.

I would assume that the dividends would be suspended for now since Ognasty has no way to send them out...

I don’t send out the distributions and there are no issues I’m aware of preventing the distribution of donations going forward.

EDIT: I got some new hardware up and running courtesy of the Bitcoin Gold fork.

Just wondering about the 10.29 bitcoin that is listed as current holdings. Are there also BCH and BTG that remain unsplit from them?  Is there a plan in place for how to spend the current holdings for more miners or other infrastructure?

The BCH were dumped immediately and raised around $2,300.  Probably not the best action in hindsight, but I plan to immediately dump the BTG also.  The funds were used for various expenses relating to NastyMining operations.  Some of these expenses include the purchase of multiple power supplies, a replacement fan, a low voltage ac converter, ram/GPU upgrades for the vanitygen rig, 3rd party design fees, exchange/withdrawal fees, ducting supplies, and uncovered insurance/shipping costs relating to the NastyShop.

I think using the BTG for more miners and other infrastructure sounds like a good idea.  I have been planning to do just that.  There will be more news on this front in the coming week.

Ok thanks.

Remember the Prisma miners that would not start as the temps got colder. Could not even run them in the winter in the lab here. Had to bring them inside.

By the way a bit of interesting info on miner problems: I've been working on A6 and 741 type miners and I've noticed something interesting. Failures seem to result in chips that look like this:

If you look carefully you will see the solder bridge that formed around the middle of the side of the chip due to solder extrusion. This is caused by defective manufacturing and way too much heat on the chip. These can open up with heat, which may be why R4's and such need heat to get them running sometimes.

Never dull in miner-land. I'm not sure if this can be fixed by running miners slower, but it is interesting.
