In an effort to make sure that NastyMining is utilizing the latest in mining technology, I've purchased an S5 from CrazyGuy's personal batch 1 order.  This will be our first Bitmain purchase and at 1.4 BTC, I think we got a good deal considering it is a single order and batch 1 is now sold out.

I've sold our Prisma for 1.37 BTC.  This is 0.02 BTC less than we would get by returning it through ASICMINER, but I think it's a good trade off in order to get our BTC up front and this way the cooler will get used by someone instead of collecting dust.

Update from Alpha Technologies on our 250MH/s scrypt miner order.

Quote
We apologise for the unexpected delays, we must say these were purely incidents out of our control. It has taken longer than expected for our design team/aggregators to complete its test solution. The test solution is used on all of our production wafers to test which chips are working and which are not; and using memory repair on the ones that are not. We have now managed to complete the test solution so the wafers that we have had waiting, we can instantly test, and forward for assembly into our systems. We do not want to guarantee a date at this time but it won’t be much longer as we have overcome the main complications that caused our delay and will carry on updating you as we progress through manufacturing.

The actual message was quite a bit longer and showed pictures of a working miner, but the bottom line is that they will be shipping soon.

Well, it seems about hashrate for hashrate. Plus the SP20 will be fully working, one would hope. Better efficiency too.

No brainer, IMHO.

Lightfoot has been unable to restore full functionality to our Monarchs and wants to do some "destructive testing" because it is "more fun anyway."  Smiley  For this reason, he has offered to purchase us a Spondoolies SP20 in exchange for taking ownership of the 2-700GH/s and 1-300GH/s Monarchs that are currently in his possession.  Before agreeing, I wanted to give fans an opportunity to chime in their opinions on this offer.

If you are unfamiliar with Spondoolies, they recently gave me a SP20 to review.  You can read my review of it here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/review-14-spondoolies-sp20-901021

I say go for it..

Lightfoot is going above and beyond what was expected here.  He's doing a great thing for NastyMining and I love it when community members step up to help support the project.

Distribution 334995 is complete. Thanks to all nastyfans donators.

After 4 full weeks of NastyPoP we start to see some nice data. One goal of NastyPoP is to reduce P2Pool payouts variation due to miner luck. Here is a NastyPoP miner payout summary of the first full 4 distribution windows:

window1 - 0.00006154 BTC per GH/s
window2 - 0.00007928 BTC per GH/s
window3 - 0.00007316 BTC per GH/s
window4 - 0.00007712 BTC per GH/s

"per GH/s" means "per 604,800,000,000,000 hashes for that window"

I will watch this statistic close in the future. It shows how good NastyPoP maintains a stable payout.

Great job so far.  I've been really impressed with how quickly the NastyPoP Ticker updates for new miners.  I can't wait to start seeing some more NastyPool stats added to the nasty.json feed.

Your 28nm RMA has been approved. If your product was shipped to you within 30 days of your RMA request, a customer service representative will contact you by email within two business days to provide you with a return shipping label at no cost to you. Please do not proceed with shipment of your RMA until your RMA has been updated with further instructions.

Hurray! I am out of business!

Although I have got one of the 700's running at 50% power on your nastyfans blog along with the 300, I would recommend RMAing these two as well and sending me the shipping label. I can send them back with a polite little note explaining why they look kinda weird.

Glad to hear that BFL is doing right. Really glad to hear actually. Now I need to figure out what to do with my life. Maybe take up trap shooting or something.

I just received an email from Butterflylabs about 2 of our RMA requests.  That gives me hope that we may actually be able to get our miners fixed and previous debtholders might finally get their payouts.  This would be a huge step towards mending the past and looking to the future in my opinion.

Cool.

What did the email from BFL say?

I've been spending a lot (too many hours) of my time trying to keep our mining operation functional.  It appears today I lost the battle with another Monarch.  The radiator has started leaking, which is pretty much the end.  I'm going to play around with it to see if I can seal it myself and get it functioning again.  If I can't, the best bet may be to wait for BFL to start accepting RMAs again.  On that subject, lightfoot has received our Monarchs for repair and has already gotten one of them functioning (it had a "destroyed" radiator).

I received the replacement Prisma boards from ASICMINER.  1 of the 3 replacements was bad, but I have found someone locally who is returning their good boards for a refund and we are meeting later to make a bad/good swap.  I am fairly confident that I will be able to get it working once I have confirmed good boards.  That brings us to the question, do we want to keep the Prisma if it is working, or do we want to send it back and get our refund?  We'll end up losing about 0.2 BTC if we return it, but may never mine enough to make it worth keeping so I'm open to opinions on the subject.  I will update on this when I get it operating correctly.  Perhaps at that time a poll will be in order, as there is no end date on returning the Prisma yet.

The Nasty T-Shirts arrived yesterday and they're awesome.  They came out better than I had hoped and are probably the most high quality T-Shirt I have in my closet.  I lowered the price to the absolute lowest I can ship them without losing money, so grab one today and help support the cause!

We still have 12 pre-orders for the 5oz coins remaining.  I have 3 people who say they're waiting to order until we get closer to having 20, so if you're on the fence, jump in and lets get this project going!

I think it is best to return that POS...I am sure down the road it will just die again or cause a fire. AM did not put a date for returns, so hash it a few weeks and send it back  Tongue

I have the Prisma up and running on NastyPool with all 4 functioning boards.  It is using the name Prisma-PoP if anyone wanted to see how these Prisma's perform on P2Pool.  I'm a bit underwhelmed so far, but will give it time to normalize.  No word on an end date for the Prisma return policy yet.  I will keep my eye out for that, but figured we should try to recover some losses before sending it back if possible.
