I'm not sure if this is enough to keep the unit from showing up to cgminer (my gut says "no"), but I am hoping for a bit of luck once it's replaced.

...
Just wondering, any news on the capacitor?

Protip:  If no junk pile--a trip to RadioShak, any form factor cap with leads (radial or axial) >6V >=470Mf, (should be a buck or two), a cheapy soldering iron and a roll of flux solder.  Trim leads/bend to fit solder pads/solder/a dab of silicone to keep the cap from rattling off, you're done.

Protip: watch out for the capital letters, 6.3V, 470 Mega farad would be hard to find Cheesy

Protip: Lowercase m makes it mf=millifarad=1000μF.  But even a 470 Megafarad cap, if someone managed to make one, would work fine.  Filters are filters, can't have too much Smiley

Nothing positive.  I'm considering 2 options at the moment.  A) Recording a video of me going Office Space on the Prisma as a warning to others that AsicMiner is shipping incomplete miners and their support is absolute garbage.  B) Selling it to the highest bidder and taking whatever loss is necessary so that I don't ever have to see it again.

How did they "capture" it?
I am confused by that.
Are they not secure?

I allowed it to expire. I am confident I was the only person using it. And 1 year ago even I stopped using it. When I first registered the domain I thought the fans would like it. The opposite happened.

The same thing happened to my bitSE.bit domain. The increase in nmc hashrate made the expiration date sooner than I had written down.  Angry

Ah ok.
That makes sense.  When you had said captured I was thinking it was something else.

The namecoin domain nastyfans.bit was captured by domain hoarder "BM-2cVYvBU4832oj7LaTQu9u94D3HYBRrgfKe". I do not think anyone will care about this but I wanted to share.

I will create a new PGP key for nastyfans.org and revoke my nastyfans.bit key and resign all previous distribution lists.

I will post again with details of my new key after it is publicly available.

I am sorry I missed it today.  I am not doing very well and was stuck in bed heavily medicated all day.
Was it a productive one?

We discussed a few things.  I am encouraging more pre-orders of the 5oz coin so we can get that minted.  I'm asking for opinions on whether or not we should ship our non-working Monarchs to lightfoot for repair.  The NastyShirt is still in the design phase.  I've started providing info to naypalm to begin working on another 3rd party NastyFans website.   I may begin relocating equipment to the NastyCenter this month.  The big one though is that nonnakip has stated it is a possibility for NastyPPS payouts to go live on NastyPool this month.  Smiley

I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
Hm. Looks like a 12 volt power filtering cap. Kind of interesting, might make one of the chips noisy, but probably not enough to sink the board. Let's see what happens.

Hey Og,
Also take a pic of the USB dongle and how you have the wires connected to the Prisma and the dongle.
There may be something in that as well.

Crap.
The new power setup for the board does it differently so it may be enough to keep them from booting if they are all connected.
Have you tried taking that board out of the chain to test?  You do not have to have all four plugged in.

Wait... They shipped it without a key capacitor? Can you post a pic?

I love mining vendors...

I'm not sure if this is enough to keep the unit from showing up to cgminer (my gut says "no"), but I am hoping for a bit of luck once it's replaced.
