I am eyeing two teams in the outrights. Minnesota Timberwolves is one of my choices and Dallas Mavericks.

Great odds for both teams, and at +1100, that’s solid! Good pick, mate. These two teams are definitely on the rise, especially Dallas now with Thompson. As for the Wolves, their playoff experience is huge, and they can build on that to elevate their game next season. If there’s a "to win the West" bet available, even at +600, that’s worth considering too, I'll definitely take it.  Smiley

Yey!
Early opening of the thread. I love it. I sometimes make some bets in the pre-season especially if I think there's a chance to win it. This is great @stadus, thank you.

Nah, I am not betting on the Boston Celtics too. A lot of changes happened in different teams and I think that will affect the ending of this season.
PG13 at Philadelphia 76ers, Klay Thompson at Mavericks (let's not forget this team was the one who fought the champions.), Knicks strengthening their bench and more.

I'm opening this thread early since the preseason kicks off next month. We can also dive into NBA futures odds here - might be interesting, especially if we're betting on some underdogs. The odds can get pretty crazy, and who knows, they might just win the championship.

I'll get ahead of you guys and drop the betting odds for the 2024-2025 NBA regular season. (NBA Future)

https://www.rotowire.com/betting/nba/nba-championship-odds.php

As expected, the Celtics are the heavy favorites. But if it were up to me, I wouldn’t bet on the Celtics, the odds are too low, not much value there. Just my two cents.

As is our tradition here, we will temporarily lock the thread now that the 2023-2024 season is over.

Thank you to all the supporters who consistently posted their predictions and bet slips. This thread wouldn't be popular without you guys who kept visiting and participating in the discussion. To continue our discussions, we can proceed with our official NBA thread, which is open 24/7 and never locked, even temporarily.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate the bettors who were profitable, but for those who were not, better luck next time!

Did someone here bet on the Celtics as the outright winning when the season starts? It could have been a good odds as well?
I'm sure there are lots of people who bet on them as they were the heavy favorite to win.

Here's the preseason odds on the last season.

2023-24 NBA Preseason Odds

Team   Odds
Boston Celtics   +450
Denver Nuggets   +450
Phoenix Suns   +600

Not so attractive but if you are bettor on that odds, you'll not gonna worry as the Celtics had an easy path to the championship.
This upcoming season, they are still the heavy favorite, but it's currently +300 only

Brutal end of the season for me betting lol.  Kind of glad the season is over.  Was hitting the under hard amd then took the over in the last game.  Dallas just did not show up when it was all on the line.  With Luka being young and probably not even in his prime he should get a couple more shots.  Lots of young talent coming up the future of the NBA looks like it's in good hands.

Yes, same here. I didn’t do well predicting postseason action. Honestly it is kind of nice to have an unpredictable playoffs after so many years of the Finals seemingly being a lock every year. It makes you wonder if we’ll ever see another LeBron type finals run.

Seems like this is it for this season. Hope to see you all again for the 2024-2025 season.
It is nice to see some changes.
I mean, who would expect the Dallas Mavericks to be there in the Finals? There's so much happening in that team and all critics' eyes are on the star duo Doncic and Irving because most of them thought it would not work.
The Celtics on the other hand was expected to win the Eastern Conference since Giannis is injured and their star duo is not in chemistry yet. The Miami Heat didn't have Butler, and Joel Embiid was too late to return.
The Knicks surprised us with the Villanova trio but they still need Randle and OG to return healthy because they will be the key to winning the playoffs next year.

Still, it's fun to see no Lebron, no Steph, no Kawhi, and we have the younger generations taking the frontlines. We are now witnessing the switch to a new era.

Yeah, some of us really lost a lot in the finals, specially that our sentimental favorite is Dallas Mavericks. They are the underdog and obviously they didn't cover the handicap as the Celtics is really too much for them.

So the season is over for us guys, we gonna have to wait till October and hopefully we can all bounce back. Congrats to those who make a lot of money in the finals series backing up the Celtics. Of course, Luka will have his redemption. Maybe it's not yet his time, but next season I expect him to mature more and minimize complaining so he can defend better. That's one thing he needs to improve since he is the captain of the team. Luka has suffered a heartbreaking loss in the NBA Finals, but that should be considered a learning experience. Even the Celtics took multiple seasons after failing in the finals before they finally won the championship.

I would also like to congratulate Boston, but more so the bettors who were profitable in the finals since this is a betting thread.

I'm signing off here now.

Did anyone here get a perfect score by betting all unders on the last 5 games of the NBA Finals?

Just a recap, here are the total scores:

Game 1: 196
Game 2: 203
Game 3: 205
Game 4: 206
Game 5: 194

Also, out of the 5 games, Dallas covered the spread in only one game, which was due to their big blowout win. Overall, the series was dominated by the Celtics. Those who were impressed by Dallas's performance in the Western Conference Finals were probably disappointed in the Finals if they bet on Dallas.

The other way around. I had a perfect score in losses.
In the whole series I bet for the Over and it's mostly 208 - 213. So none of them made a hit. Then, I only won 1 time betting for the Mavericks. This is a bad emotional gambling series for me.  Grin
I should've stuck as a gambler and not as a fan of the Mavs.

Anyway, that concludes our betting session for the NBA. I think @stadus will close this thread for a while. But we still have the Summer League and the WNBA. So good luck betting there.

Congratulations to our 2024 NBA Champions Boston Celtics. I hope next year it will be this good again and some changes on the teams that will battle for the Finals.
I think the Timberwolves will come back strong.

My bet for the match winner was a lose. But then, my bet for the total score have won.

Just a recap, here are the total scores:

Game 1: 196
Game 2: 203
Game 3: 205
Game 4: 206
Game 5: 194
If I've bet for games 1-3 with under of 208.5 - 209.5 I should have won with most of them. But then, it was quite too late for me to ride on that when I've realized most of my bets from game 1-3 for the game winner were just losses. All is good, just gonna try better next time and will wait for the opening of the season again but before that, the draft for this year is the next awaited thing for the NBA.

I had a bet placed on the Celtics tonight, but the odds weren’t very exciting so I parlayed it with a Donald Trump winning the Presidency bet. I guess I’ll find out in November if I’m a winner or not, but I’m enjoying all the bets I’m getting stacked on a Trump victory. It should make the election a little more interesting for me.

Congratulations to those who put Boston Celtics to win and close out the finals last night.
It wasn't a really thrilling game as they dominated it through in through.

Dallas best player was seen frustrated at the end of the 1st quarter and throughout the entire game. At one point slipped in the final quarter citing he was robbed from a wet spot on the floor.
What was even more shocking was that Brown got the MVP of the finals.
Many thought it was going to be given to Tatum because every shot he put up always seemed to drop in for him.
There was a reverse shot over two defenders in the middle of the 4th quarter that looked like worthy of being the MVP of the game.

I felt like Boston wasn't trying to hard to win in the game 4 blowout and wanted to win it at home. Porzingas is playing tonight as well, with that being said, I had a few bucks on Gamdom and took Boston -8.5 which at the moment is looking good. Never know how the game will end up, but even if I don't cover I think Boston closes out the Finals tonight.

Yeah, everything is falling for Boston right now, even that long shot made by Pritchard, and it looks like no one is going to stop them tonight. Luka and Kyrie is not even in double figures yet and they are missing a lot of easy shots.

And so congrats to those who back up Boston tonight, I thought that this is going to be close and the Mavs are going to put everything in the line. But we can already see frustrations on Luka's face at the end of the first half and it doesn't look good for Mavs fans.

And they have DONE IT!

After a very spectacular season, and incredibly awesome basketball it is an understatement to say that the Boston Celtics duly deserve this title, It's been a long time coming for them!

This is almost over already before it gets any serious, Boston Celtics have took complete charge of the game, they got a 21 points advantage going into halftime, and Porzingis haven't even had to do much, but the every other Celtics guys have stepped big time today, Tatum with 16 points and 9 assist, Brown with 15, while Luka Doncic is out there looking rather extremely cold, he has missed a lot of point blank shots and multiple of free throws have been squandered too. I don't know if it will be unfair to the Celtics to say the Mavericks are beating themselves tonight!

D. White 6+ RA / J. Holiday 17+ PA @1.82   won

The Celtics pulled a stinker in Game 4, and it wasn't so much about the big loss as it was the way they played, totally uncharacteristic...i'm obviously not taking anything away from the Mavs, who were brilliant.

I just can't see any scenario where this goes to Game 6 or beyond. I don't trust the Mavs' role players to step up again, nor Luka to be semi-decent on defense. It all points to the Celtics winning their 18th tonight.

As for my bet, i've got D. White at 6+ RA, he's hit it in 9/L10 home playoff games, and Holiday has covered 17+ PA in five straight home games. 617!

Numerology backs the Celtics winning today.
