@stadus Good to see this thread up and running, preseason games start next weekend, so i guess we should have some markets to bet on by then.
Thank you for replying here, I like to see you picks with your very detailed explanation, can't wait to start betting now.

But it's true that he can't carry a team, a few years ago he's still young and needed more experience. This time, I think he had enough of those and what
he really need is a good tandem and veteran to help him out.

Like what Natalim have shared, they have added veterans which know how to play the game in the playoffs where pressure is high. Giannis will continue to learn and improve, but it's not just him really, it's the whole team, he can't carry his own team if he will just work alone, just Lebron what Lebron experience during his early season with the Cavaliers.
I remember the early days of Lebron and fans just didn't noticed how he started but only noticed when he's starting to go up and on-line because of their achievements.
Fans hate Lebron though he is already achieving in his early career in the NBA.
He was carry his team, even brought in the NBA Finals, but all that effort failed because their team's opponent are just so good on how they play as a team. Cavaliers vs Spurs, if you've seen them, you pity the Cavaliers because Spurs did an easy job for them.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2007-nba-finals-cavaliers-vs-spurs.html

it was a swept.

It is ok if Giannis won't get the ring by this season but I know that he's aiming for it. And, him and his teammates are doing their best for it. Honestly, it's all the players are aiming for it. Who doesn't want it? none.  Tongue
Giannis needs to win a ring, he has the talent but he is not as good as Lebron's although he keeps winning the MVP award.
Hopefully Bucks this season is an improved team with not much added in their line up.

My early favorites now are Denver and RocketsSmiley

HOU, really?...that's an odd choice right there.  Smiley

Rockets are with a new coach Stephen Silas (zero experience as HC in the NBA) and a new GM.
DeMarcus Cousins who has had more injuries than games played in the last three years, John Wall hasn't played in two years coming off major injuries himself. I don't know how can you consider them favorites, it's just so many uncertainties around the team, will they continue to play small ball, will the veteran players listen/mesh with the rookie coach? Oddsmakers have them as the 6th best team in the West which might be a bit high imo, i expect teams like the Suns, Blazers, or even the Grizzlies to have a better year than the Rockets.

I hope they'll figure it out how to win. lol.

That's a good point mate, some call them big 3 but they are not looking at the status of Wall and Cousins, these two are still fragile at the moment, I mean they haven't prove it yet, the coming season is the time that they can prove if they are still as durable as before. Wall and Cousins are both aggressive, so there's a big risk that they'll be reinjured again, we don't want to see that but considering their past injuries, we can't just disregard this sad possibility.

About the NBA Futures, anyone here put an early bet already?

Not yet, I will still wait for some news, before I'll start placing my bet.
When betting in NBA Futures, I usually don't bet on the favorites as I like to see some surprises, so I do it with the underdog/s.

There maybe some big news that will come and it could change the odds, so I'm waiting patiently.

My early favorites now are Denver and Rockets.  Smiley

So there is a possibility that we might someday see his son Bronny, play along with his father in the NBA and this could be historic feat for Lebron and his son. And if this happen, we will all be privilege to see this in our lifetime.  Smiley

Would this be the first time to see a father and son play in the NBA?

I'm so curious, never heard like this before and honestly, I never realize that Lebron's son will soon be drafted in the NBA.

To my knowledge, this has never been done in the NBA, maybe in other sports, so Lebron and Bronny could make a history if they both actively playing in the NBA. And these are the youngest NBA player in the history, they are all 18 years old.

https://dunkorthree.com/youngest-nba-players/

if I'm not mistake, Broony is now 16 yo, so 2 years more he could play in the NBA.

By the way, Lebron also started at 18 years of age in the NBA.

Thank you mate, appreciate it, if its indeed true then we should rejoice it early as we will soon the first active father and son player in the NBA.

His son have some popularity already, thanks to the father which is the king Lebron.

Is this news reported here? LeBron James reportedly agrees to two-year, $85 million contract extension.

Quote
LeBron will now be with the Lakers through 2023, his 20th season in the league. Not coincidentally, that is the year his son Bronny graduates high school, and LeBron has mused about playing a season at the same time as his son in the NBA. (However, talks about doing away with the one-and-done college rule have stalled on the NBA side, and that rule may well be in place in 2023. Bronny is considered an NBA prospect but not an elite-level talent by scouts.)

So there is a possibility that we might someday see his son Bronny, play along with his father in the NBA and this could be historic feat for Lebron and his son. And if this happen, we will all be privilege to see this in our lifetime.  Smiley

Fans trust Giannis and so even I. I know his capacity and wanting that someday he'll get the championships. But it's hard to determine who will be the champs this season and likely it's still Lakers. We'll see if there's a new roster that looks explosive.

I doubt that, I am a fan but I already loss my trust to Giannis, Bucks had a two playoffs exit, Giannis can't carry a team so I think he will just consistently win an MVP award in the regular season but will struggle to even enter in the NBA Finals.

I agree on that. Giannis should not even be compared or be rivaled with LBJ since we all know how great LBJ is while Giannis is still young and inconsistent with his games. I am a fan of Giannis and I am looking forward to what he can accomplish or get in the next few years. Still rooting for them.

With the fresh news that Wall has been traded to the Rockets for Westbrook, I think the odds above a great odds to take advantage to.

For me, Rockets have a shot with Wall in their line up, however, he need to keep himself healthy so he can help the Rockets to be in the playoffs.

Basketball is a team game, Giannis alone can't win the title.

All those known superstars have their respective teammates who shared the glory with them, Before we heard about Duo's and the Big 3 but now, it's the team itself that blending together and support each other. With those veterans Giannis might learn new sets of knowledge in how to handle every pressures that the team may meet, if he adjust and change for the team benefits this team will be more competitive to their  title's quest.

It is ok, that's what other fans are thinking of Giannis. There's a division for opinions as usual when they've been disappointed.

You have to know that they have added some real good players this season, these players have the experience in the playoffs and are good guards, so hopefully this will help to make the Bucks improve with their offense.

I guess these are the new players added to the team.

Too early for that for sure, as there are lots of players movements.

For now bookmakers might influence the ranking, but after some games that being played changes may take place. The  chance that
there are new favorite combo or a  new sets of underdog who will shine up during this upcoming season. We will know if Giannis will have his chance now or he's going to fail again.

Welcome back to your thread @stadus.

I missed seeing your bet slip guys, hopefully we can start betting right away as the preseason will start soon.

Bucks is now in the the 2nd favorite, can you believe that?

Bucks are always overvalued, just to remind people, this is an NBA championship, not the regular season, if it's a regular season, they might have a chance to be the best team, but playoffs is a different story.
