I think it's because of the odds, when you are betting on the favorites and you bet on ML, you won't get at least 1.90 odds, most probably you'll get a lower odds and that will not help you in the long run. Most of the bettors I guess are betting on the point spread and total so they'll get a good return.

If you are aiming to a much higher earnings then choosing over and under or handicap would be your best options. If you have good knowledge between the opposing teams.

You can weight the handicap, picking which side you'll be placing your bets depends from how you really understand the game.

Adding to that, there also chances that low odd can still lose your bet, if you are fully into gambling this type of bets probably
the best one to test both your luck and knowledge.

i always thing that over 220 is just too much which is why I bet for under especially when it is both strong team that is trying ti win.

I also think of the same, 220 over is too much in the regular games because teams, specially those who are title contenders will try to win and would put premium on their defense. There is a thread that is experimenting on that over/under category for pre-season games and when you look at the result, it is just a little above 50 percent win for over even when defense is no so emphasized on those games.

There's a chance that players and coaches will test everything to work out, keep trying to blend players inside and see if what will work the most, this is a season opener so maybe both teams will try to impress their fans, both defense and offense will be test knowing that both LA's are really aiming to gather more support..

Odds changes is really important, let us not be too exited here, we are are looking for some opportunity to win so we need to bet at the right time. Well, I think the best match up in the first game is the Lakers vs Clippers, these are the top 1 and 2 teams respectively which are favorite to win the NBA championship, so a first game does matter to them, and you could be right, it could be an under, but just hold on, wait for a bit before placing your bet.

My two-team parlay for today, the Tampa Bay Raptors ml + Pelicans ml total odds 3.88

Raptors will play their first home game in Tampa, as you all know they are not allowed to play in Canada, hence relocated to Florida for the upcoming season.
Kyle Lowry is available and will make a preseason debut, i and don't see anyone else missing from their team whereas there's a bunch of injured/missing players for Miami: Kendrick Nunn, Avery Bradley, Jimmy Butler...Hero is questionable.

Giannis will miss the game in New Orleans, J.J. Redick and Eric Bledsoe should play for Pels. I was highly impressed by NOP in their first preseason game, both Ingram and Zion played very well and scored over 20pts.
