The nxt clones are starting to sprout like mushrooms now . Promethium, NAS coin  I am glad NEM decided to build something new, sticking with the old plan of cloning nxt would have been a disaster.

Can you post links here? Anyone sensible behind those initiatives?

Or are those 1-to-1 copies of code, that JeanLuc published

I hope NEM's wallets better than XRP's wallets(ripple coin), It's easy to use,UI is simple and nice... Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

The Ripple Client isn't bad at all imho. What is it that you don't like about it ?

Ripple = The network
ripples (short XRP) = The currency native to the network

Ripple coin doesn't exist Wink

Can someone explain to me why the Nem wallet is going to be browser based?

If you tell us your concerns I'm sure we'll be able to get them out of the way Smiley

I was under the assumption the client wasn't going to be browser-based?  Huh

Again what are your concerns ?

Serving the GUI over a browser makes a lot of sense these days. It's more lightweight, easier to maintain and with all the fancy libraries in no way inferior to a native GUI.

Maybe your concerns are more directed at brainwallets ? If this is the case then it will please you to hear that our client will support local wallets.

Is it going to be browser-based? Do you know?

So long as I can store my coins locally on my PC and not on some database then I'm fine with it.

The GUI will run in the browser yes. However this is just to interact with the native client that is running in the background.
You WILL BE ABLE TO STORE your wallet LOCALLY !

This is awesome that we are able to store our wallet locally. This can attract more people who are afraid of stealing coins from brainwallets e.g. when they are offline.

We're forming a SWARM team devoted to the promotion of NEM. We're looking members who are willing to do commenting and upvoting/liking articles, posts, videos etc. in order to promote NEM.

All interested, please send me email to the address [email protected] or PM with your email address and I'll list you!

For the record the SWARM team is not yet active, since there is no coin launched. We're forming the team now, so that we'll have it ready when the need comes.

E

Add me to the swarm. Email is in PM.

866 likes on our facebook page in one month, i think thats not bad Wink
Not bad at all, me thinks. And 3000 people, thats a lot of people.

Does anyone know if there was another coin with 3000 or more
stakes at the time the genesis block was created, before NEM??

(except these new country coins that claim a reserved stake for members of the entire population, obviously)

I think that 872 likes are too little for 3000 Stakeholders!
There is room for more!

Counterparty could be the closest one but there was no limit, so one person could burn many Bitcoins. I would say there was less than 500 people.

I am not Dorian Nakamoto.
How is the logo committee doing? When will we get to vote on the logos?

We culled out a lot of logos already, narrowing down the list of potential candidates.
