Need another exchange ASAP. Poloniex is not enough + awfull, hurtful trollbox conversations about nem, which, i bet, isn't the best marketing for NEM

i don't want to be rude but yes plenty of them are assisted morons who ask for advices in trollbox, they don't even look at announcement threads on bitcointalk, they trade without educating themselves. So they trash everything without knowing shit on the history of a coin, it's really annoying.

90% of them are XMR/DASH pom pom girls anyway.

But as said let them troll, who cares after all.

Poloniex imho the best among the smaller exchanges.
Anyone that gives anything about the trollbox shouldn't buy any coins.

More exchanges are afaik in the works but it doesn't have a huge priority imho.
Unlike other projects exchanges aren't NEMs endgame.

1) The devs harvest with their coins and thus add to chain security.
2) First nem core will be released and then the rest. But there is not yet a definite time scale.

Is it possible to get source code related to PoI? Without other parts it can't be used to clone NEM so there shouldn't be issues, right?

Perhaps it maybe faster for you to decompile it. I am sure you are just as good as those hackers who could/may/can decompile to hack the system.

Obfuscated source is probably not a lot of fun to read.
It might have been a better idea to just ask todo a code review in private instead of trying to back the devs into a corner.

This is a cut and paste of a message I sent to the NEM admin team.

Hi,

I just wanted to tell you what happened, I won't beg but please read what I say. I Lost my secret key and account details a moth or so ago and you gave me another one. Unfortunatly a few days before launch my laptop which AlI had the secret key stored on for no reason decided to crash and said I had to put a Windows OS disc into the drive to recover. I live as an expat in Asia, there is no easy way for me to get windows on Disc without a lot of hassle plus I have to use my computer for preparing material for teaching. So I did a system reset which have me no option to recover files, just a complete restore.

So I feel pretty annoyed. Thing is I followed this coin from way back at the beggining in fact that's why my name is nextgencoin because I was active with NXT and then followed NEM. So after over a year a few days before I get my coins my laptop does this. I can't help feel unlucky.

So my point is I genuinely believe I deserve to get a stake from the large amount of coins held by the NEM team and as
more stakeholders the better I felt it was a just thing to ask for one. It's up to you and your team if I get one.
Here is my locked account.

The NEM admin I guess quite fairly said they can't do that behind the back of the community. But they also said I should ask The community IF I deserve a stake. I guess it's up to feedback on here now. I won't beg I just think it's fair.

come-from-beyond is just curious. Check source code and maybe discover something fine for Jinn.

But you can really complement each other. maybe ... or not ?!

Is Proof-of-Importance draft published somewhere?

Edit: Do the devs secure the blockchain by harvesting with coins controlled by them?

Also I'd like to know when source code is planned to be released, it would save my time on implementation of PoI model.

Multisig question.

In the blog http://blog.nem.io/how-to-use-multi-signature-accounts/ It says to set up new accounts to act as cosignatories in the client.  Is it not wiser to set up the new accounts on different computers/locations as if your primary account is hacked, the hacker has access to all the cosigner accounts also?

Yes it would be wise to set up the cosignatory accounts on different computers.

that doesnt mean they are at risk, it means they could be at risk. big difference. until source code is released, users have to put faith in the devs abilities and that is a risk users take in the hope that they made the right choice and make money.

You are right. How does it change my point about waiting too long => higher chance to face a problem?

and how do you come to the conclusion that ordinary users are unprotected against hackers if you havent even seen the source code?

Security thru obscurity => hackers will decompile binaries anyway, ordinary users can't do it and hence can't review the system.

Cross post from NEM forum;

Hi guys,

A friend of mine fckd up sending all his NEM to Poloniex.

Poloniex wants 15 NEM from the same account to identify that it's him.

Can someone send him 15 NEM? I can't access my wallet yet. Thanks in advance.

after Jinn is released.

This is too long to wait, I doubt that NEM devs will keep ordinary users unprotected against hackers that long.

Can't make this shit up:

can 1 person be 13% importance?  how exactly is that number calculated?

Im showing 2.23% in mine ...

Ahem. I have not contacted you, nor have I more than one stake from the forum claiming.

Please clear this up!

You're absolutely right and I apologize. I confused you with someone else Lips sealed.

No problem. The only reason I wanted that cleared up was because someone sent me a PM asking about it.

Must be some error in. T had only 1 stake!

Nevermind, wrong answer, this is about 1 stake...
